Chapter 5

POV - Kevin

I wake up in my room and I remember my mom from my last life, my eyes get watery but I still decide to get up and see my new family, I can hear them talking at the dinner table.

"He fainted again?" Dad asked Mom. "did we not tell him to don't do it again alone?"

"I think we didn't, I will tell him this time" Mom replied. "maybe I need to be a little strict this time."

"Don't be too strict he is just a kid they make mistakes and get hurt all the time," Dad said. "why are you getting so worked up over this"

"Over this Levi, this seems like a joke to you? he is only five years old and already playing with mana," Mom told Dad in a slightly annoyed tone. "Kids are not supposed to do magic this early, what If he does something foolish and gets hurt, what we had at five was wooden swords, not magic."

Sarah is just eating and listening to everything.

"I didn't mean to say don't scold him at all I just said don't be too harsh, he is still just a kid" Dad replied. "I am sorry if you thought I wasn't taking this seriously."

"I am just a little worried, think about it, magic at five...." Mom said.

"Mom," I say while my eyes get even more watery. "I am sorry for worrying you."

Mom gets up from her chair gets close to me and hugs me, tears from my eyes start sliding down my cheeks.

"It's okay Kevin shush, It's okay," Mom said. "no need to cry I am here."

"But Mom, I worried you," I said while crying. "I am sorry for trying magic alone again."

"It's okay Kevin" Mom replied while still hugging me. "You are just not ready yet, as long as you know what you did wrong, I am not going to scold you."

"And she said she was going to be strict..." Dad whispered while eating.

"For now don't attempt any spells until Uncle Patrick tells you to" Mom continues. "now don't worry about anything and sit and eat your dinner."

"Yes, Mom" I replied.

Mom wipes off my tears and I stop crying and sit down to eat, It looks like Dad is done eating but he is still sitting there.

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

"Mom I am sorry too, I should have paid more attention to Kevin," Sarah said.

"It wasn't your fault Sarah," Mom replied. "your brother was just too unpredictable today."

"I am sorry Mom, I won't be unpreduuouch!" I said while eating and bit my tongue.

"Hahaha" Everyone laughed then I laughed too.

"He was unpredictable but he is still my cute little brother," Sarah said.

Then as I was finishing my food we heard someone at the door.

Knock Knock.

"Levi are you in there come out fast we need to talk," Uncle Patrick said from outside the door in a panicked voice.

Dad gets up and opens the door and we see Patrick with a worrying look.

"Did something happen?" Dad asked.

"Demons." Uncle Patrick whispers.

"Lily," Dad calls to mom. "we need to discuss something."

"Alright," Mom says. "You kids stay here and finish your food."

But we already already finished our food, and then all three of them left the house.

"So why did you do it when I went out?" Sarah asked. "You could have told me before doing it."

"I am sorry big sis," I replied. "I thought I could do it and I didn't want you to stop your work for me"

"You still should have just told me, I got worried too you know," She said.

She gets down from her chair, comes close to me, and hugs me tight.

"I am sorry! I am sorry! I won't do it again big sis please let me go!" I scream.

She lets go and smiles.

"Don't make me worry again or I won't read you anything again" She says.

"Big sis please don't say that you still have not finished that book yet!" I replied.

The door opens and four people are back Dad tells something to the new person and the new person leaves. Uncle Patrick comes to me.

"Me and your dad are going somewhere for a few days so I can't teach you tomorrow," Uncle Patrick says. "Your mom told me about what you did, don't do that again and while we are gone just try to meditate and increase your focus, and don't make trouble for your mom again."

"Yes sensei, I am sorry about what I did" I replied.

"Don't worry about that now, we will be leaving now" Uncle Patrick says.

Dad comes close to me and hugs me.

"See you later Kevin, you did great today, just don't do it again alone," He says while ruffling my hair.

It makes me feel warm inside.

"See you Dad, come back soon" I reply while hugging him back.

They left immediately, I did not ask why they could not wait until morning because they all looked serious for some reason.

The next day I practiced meditation by myself.

POV - Levi

I just left my home with my friend Patrick because there's a Demon sighting in the Mountain Hold village.

"We should be there by morning if we take a break at midnight," Patrick says.

"The more time we take to get there the more people die, let's just keep going," I replied.

"Are you sure by what that messenger told us it sounds like the demon uses sounds to hunt, and you need to see it to activate your world blessing skill," Patrick said. "If we keep going all night we might not be in the best condition to fight it"

"Come on Patrick, It also sounded like it's just a minor demon, even if we can't see it how hard would it be to fight it?" I replied.

"How did you even survive long enough to be a father with that attitude," Patrick retorts. "I will make sure I teach your son how to be a little more cautious than you, even though he already seems to becoming a lot like you."

"It's not that big of a deal, he only attempted a water-based spell and only depleted his mana" I replied. "You know you can't become strong if you don't push yourself, I am sure he will become strong."

"He is a little too young to be pushing himself!" Patrick retorts.
