CHAPTER 10

CHAPTER 10

"Are you capable of killing someone?" He put his hands behind his back and straightened his stance, his rounded belly showing unembarrassed.

That question somehow startled me. Although I do want them dead for a long time, because they made me this way and they are dead, but killing them with my own hands feels so wrong. Funny? Ironic?

Baba 1 1:10 Thou shalt not kill any human being, the creation of God is righteous and shalt not be put to death of else morals. This verse made me doubt what action should I take, but it is hypocritical that there are executions. Although I know these are morals to the Lib and to the Saintrus, the usage can be sometimes hypocritical. In a way, criminals get free just because someone shared a verse about them expected to change.

I remember on the news that a woman wanted to be separated from his husband because it is said in the Lib, Baba the Great does not approve of divorce because it is sacred. A union of two bodies joined as one. The woman was beaten and abused, but people around me said to me that they should take counsel.

After a few weeks, she was killed. The husband banged her head on the wall because he was drunk. I expected the people in my religion would start blaming themselves for the cause of their stupidity, but I heard my mom say "This is why you shouldn't marry an unbeliever. Many God's blessings would go to waste." She did not listen to the news carefully, both of them are Saintrus.

I know what she meant in their own perspective, but are they that ignorant? At least get the right sort of mindset.

The husband did nothing wrong in the Lib but from a human perspective, it is. Omas 6: 1 Women should remain silent in churches and outside of sanctuary. Omas 6:20 Wives must listen to their husband and be submissive which they are the head of the family. Ironic. Yet the husband in the news did not feel wrong banging her wife on the head.

What did the justice do to the husband? They set him free because the husband's family told the justice that the wife was being disobedient.

Peres 1:10 Baba, God loves all of his creation meaning God has the right of whom to kill because he is right and perfect in his perfect ways. This is my interpretation of Baba's actions. Perfect. He loved his perfect creation so much which is ironic and hypocritical.

How about the story of Lucas? In the book of Lucas, he was an obedient servant with two sons and a wife. Ironically that God loves his creation so much, he decided to test Lucas' devotion to his master in the Lib by getting rid of him as a shepherd, which makes them move and live in an abandoned house with his family, where they have to look for food in the forest with little resources and it made them skinny.

After a month of living in poverty, Lucas is still faithful to God. Soon, his wife fell into a great illness and then died after. Next are his sons. He was still faithful to God, after his many tests on him.

He lost his job, his wife, and his sons. He is still faithful to Baba, his last test was to suffer a great amount of pain before dying, the Lib did not state what kind of disease but it is confirmed that Lucas suffered from chronic disease. I remember Lucas's last line in the Lib was "Baba, may you finish this suffering not for my own but to your ways."

I wish you could kill yourself rather than suffer, but wait? Suicide is a sin, too. The Lib said suicide is like murder which my mind made a lot worse. I learned this after I tried killing myself for my 2nd attempt at suicide.

I believe there are people who suffered enough which is me, and they want to rest from all this, but do I deserve that? Did I suffer enough? Did I deserve to kill myself?

Never mind, killing myself is a sin, after all. Haha.

===°===

"With the story of Lucas, we now understand that suffering does not occur on sin, but it can happen to anyone," my father preached about Lucas, he added another like it was another plot twist of a novel, "That's why we must repent our sins, so we will grant an eternal life than a suffering life. Sinners will be sinners, but to God, we will glorified with him! Lucas did stay his faith and continued to spread the gospel to others." He's right on that. Lucas did spread the gospels where the scriptures became popular before he was tested. Tested to suffer actually.

"Amen!"

"Amen!"

Lucas already repented many times. Lucas 10:10 He said, God, I have sinned for I am with you forever so more. Make me in your ways, Baba. Yet he lost everything. "How terrible," I gritted my teeth and clenched my fist. Forcing me to listen to these myths which I now don't believe anymore, but I will be put to death if ever I didn't listen. So, I maintained a forceful smile, forcing myself to be okay even though some people knew about me.

So this is what happens if you're blinded by faith? I was so focused on being a good person, yet, here I am only realizing that I was brainwashed by them. I no longer listen to religious fanatics anymore.

You don't need to be a good person to be religious, you just have to follow the rules and you will not commit a sin.

My mom saw me, and I noticed, I put on a warm facade and smiled at her, "It's God's plan after all."

Whom am I to bother?

"Amen," my sarcasm.

===°===

"Yes," with a bright smile on my face. He looked me straight in the eye smiling enthusiastically.

He flings out a knife from his back and shows it to me. The handle is poorly crafted. However, the blade is a little clean with small scratches that have probably been used for some purposes.

"I suppose, you know this way, young one." I think this is a test for me to earn their trust. I did not answer or nod.

He turned around and walked through the end of the passage, and I remained here unfazed, holding and looking at the knife as this feeling continued to eat me up.

He will probably be sending some people from my world. He knows and I know. Are Ishstars that smart? Well, they are using me as a pawn to them, of course, they are smart. But the way they are wearing made them look stupid, revealing clothes. Their fats, and big bellies. Maybe it's some sort of their tactic? I don't know.

I am in a vulnerable position, whom am I to judge?

I played the blade playfully by swinging left and right with my right hand. It's light. The wooden handle is quite old but the blade is clean.

A few minutes passed, and I noticed a shadow lurking towards me, it was rather thin than the Ishstar because of their huge figures. Then another shadow figure from behind followed, it was the Ishstar.

What a coincidence. "Tuk?" I was surprised, to hear that angelic voice, the young adult woman with brown hair, still wearing her casual clothes on Sunday School, pure black eyes watering. Shocking eyes went it gazed at me.

"Ms. Guin?" Caught me by surprise. I looked behind the Ishstar looked at me with a pale face, it felt as if it was my first time seeing it. "Oh, thank God, Baba. Thank you, Lord- Thank you Lord for blessing me," she cried in her usual high-pitched voice to sing on Sundays.

"Help me with these people, Tuk," she catches her breath like she is being drowned in water, but she is certainly dry. She was just crying desperately. "You wouldn't believe what they have done to them," she cried again.

I already saw enough. I have experience enough what is more to you now?

"Tuk! Are you listening?" she is not tied, she catches me, grabbing my shoulders. "We have to help them."

I looked at her only with a poker face. I don't know how to react, but my mind is made up. "Ms. Guin," I called her catching her pouring tears in her eyes. "Do you remember about Anne and Mima?" I ask. "Now is not the time, Tuk! Are you even listening?" She screamed at me with pure frustration.

What the fuck are you thinking Tuk? Do you think they will gonna feel the same way to them? I know. I fucking know that.

I just want them to understand that things... Oh, fuck this.

It doesn't matter anymore.

I looked at her, my soulless eyes on her like a hunter playing his prey. Unemotional and callousness. "Let go," I said to her. "Tuk, we have-" I cut her like she cut me. "I'm not asking. Let go," I demand her. She saw me holding a knife. "Oh my God." I thought that she would be taking the knife from my hand, but I aggressively gave her a hard push to her onto the ground, and she fell on her back. I make a fast move by sitting on her stomach, locking her. Gripping her thin arms.

"Tuk?" She looked like a scared prey. Her tears remained flowing. She cried like them. I still memorized their face even though they were blindfolded, I knew what face they made.

"This is not right to God. Remember that God loves you."

"Don't be tempted by the devil."

Hearing that word again made my tongue click. I'm so pissed and tired with that.

You all made me this way. If I didn't follow your instructions; if I didn't meet the correct expression to you all, you all would put me to death like them, and all of you were gonna say "It is said on the Lib, Tuk."

"It is said on the Lib."

"It is said on the Lib."

"IT IS SAID IN THE LIB, TUK."

"IT'S ALL PART OF GOD'S PLAN, TUK."

I am fucking tired of that!

"This is not right, Tu-" Her last breath. I released my grip from her hands, pushed her face upright, and then stabbed her upper neck. Like slicing some bread, I push her muscles more. She tingles like an infected insect.

Blood spurts out from her neck like an opened faucet. My hands and uniform got splat from the red liquid. I watched Ms. Guin gasping for air and making up her words, but with her neck stabbed, it would be impossible to produce words. Her airways are damaged.

This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

She growls and gasps lightly. She tried moving aggressively, trying her best strength to release from me locking her, each time she moved, she lost strength. Her strength sipping out like a sponge losing its water.

I know I fucking hate them. I can not help myself but feel guilty about what I have done. I felt wrong because I did, but I accepted it.

She wasn't moving anymore. I remained faceless, trying to control my emotions. I prevented myself from crying.

===°===

He jolted when he saw me crying, Emil's father. Going back after I apologize to them at their front house.

"Son," he called when he patted me on the shoulder. "Come here," he pulled me forcefully, but he tried to be as gentle as possible. He locked the door behind me because almost everyone outside did not like them entirely, and that was good for him.

Then he hugged me, like the true father, dad, or daddy he is. "It's okay," he accepted even after everyone treated them like a pile of rubbish just because they are unbelievers, even when the time I was the one who told them that they were unbelievers and they knew it, yet they still smiled at me the very end.

I made their names filled with mud but they are willing to give me bread. Why?

His hug felt like the most welcoming love that I have ever felt than my parents that I wish they had it. It is all I could ask for. Nothing else. Is it that hard to understand?

This was the only I could ask for them. I prayed for this that it was them.

If only this was the answer.

If only they try to understand even if they are trying on something small.

If only good and bad people were treated equally then Mima and Anne would still be alive.

If only people like these existed.

But no, there is one reality of me that I have to accept.

I felt so emotional and empathetic, that I cried. Feeling the emotion of being humiliated because I'm just a nobody to them. I'm so humiliated and embarrassed by them, giving me this comfort that I don't deserve from them.

I wish you would hate me.

I wish you only said that I am an asshole or a piece of shit because I am.

I wish you to talk shit of me.

I wish you to tell me to die and go to hell.

But you chose to comfort me during my hardest times?

I felt too emotional. I kept thinking too much, I hugged him back tighter, crying abruptly, because I wanted this so badly. I wanted this so badly, I said it again in my thoughts. "I'm so sorry," I cried and tightened my hug to him, feeling his love for a stranger child like me like a father. Like a family.

It does feel like a family love, is it? A stranger to a family.

"I-I want her to be sa-safe," I closed my eyes, holding and embracing him tighter. I imagine that my dad was the one doing this to me even if it's only an illusion, but I have to accept it. It's not him, it's Emil's dad.

I don't want them to be humiliated and to be treated like nonhumans anymore. They don't deserve it. I wish we were the ones who should be treated differently than them.

"I-I'm so scared," I embraced him more thinking of him like a father to me. A dad to me. "I hate them so much." He patted my back, he's not forcing me to let him go. He let me have this moment. "I know," he patted me again, treating me as his own.

I fucking hate them, but I hate myself more.

"Bu-but... I-I hate myself so much," I admit to him pathetically. "Why?" He sounded so worried while he was patting my back. "Be-because of th-that time..." I catch my breath before I continue, "I-I was the one who said to them."

I was the one who told them that they were unbelievers, I was the one who made them treated like this, just because they admitted to me when they moved in Ghoirne.

I was an idiot and stupid at that time. I didn't think they would be led to this, treating them like devils or outsiders just because they are not Saintrus. I regretted that even when the time I forced Emil to become a Saintrus, then her family.

He shushed me like he was holding me like a baby. "Hush... Son, we're used to it," he sounded glad, but I'm not. "It's okay, there-there."

"Nothing bad happened to us, Tuk. We're still here," he tightens his hug to me a little. "We haven't done anything against them, Tuk. Nothing happened to us."

There will be. They're just trying a good fight by smiling.

I felt he wanted to let go, but I interrupted him. "Please," I plead with him, crying on his shoulder. "This is all I could ask for," I said to him. "Sure, son. Hon, could you come here a second?" He called his wife. "Yes?" She replied, "Oh? What happened?"

"He needed this, hon," he said but I ignored their talking by closing my eyes, I wanted this more than the verses I heard again and again. I felt their comfort. I felt safe.

Another warmth I felt. The mother, the father, and a stranger.

"Tuk, son, there's nothing I could ask for anything," he called. "Please, keep Emil safe, son. For her."

"I-I will," I said, then he showed their gratitude by saying "Thank you." But I don't deserve that.

"I love you both."

===°===

I watched her body, Ms. Guin's body not moving anymore. I removed the knife from her neck. My head felt some dizziness when I saw something disgusting, then I touched my forehead with blood on it.

Breathe in, breathe out. Good that felt better.

Then I put a warm smile on my face with her blood smeared on my face. I did not hesitate, I acted fast to meet their standards.

"My, child, what makes you so wanting of vengeance on these people? Perhaps wanting to kill them?" He is unfazed by the dead body, he is not entirely concerned about it. He is curious about me.

"Stupidity."

He huffs for one chuckle at the answer because it is. "My, you have met the requirements, young one, very likely. Most would hesitate for a minute, but you as one are odd."

"As granted I will grant-" I refute "Both of us," I said with my mind calm and focused. It felt like my anger was obliterated by the actions I had done. "I will be more of use to you if you keep her safe," I request with a bow on my head, pleading to him.

I have promised that I will keep it. For them and her.

I looked at him with sorrow in my eyes, but I am calm. My eyes were sorrowful to him but it was calm and serious. A demand and pleading. "Perhaps, both of your positions can be arranged, however, it requires more work for an exchange."

"I don't mind," I said smiling proudly. I looked at Ms. Guin's body again, her blood was flowing thin. The floor is almost like a puddle of mud. The darkness in this passage interrupts the color of the red to brown.

"I will have high expectations that you will not disappoint the blessings we gave you." Maybe words aren't quite as accurate as they seem. He probably said "luck" or "mercy" as "blessing."

"Child, you should fill your empty stomach, but it is more likely to replenish in an appropriate place than here," he said, and saw him gesturing me to stand up. I stand up with my knife in my hand. Dirty blood covered mostly my face and clothes. I didn't realize that I had not eaten yet.

If my people, the Saintrus think I am a corrupt or possessed devil. So, be it.

I'll be the Devil you want.

CHAPTER 10

===°===

===°===

The next day, on the other side of the world, Earth brought many mysterious phenomenal news throughout worldwide. The mysterious planet covered most of the Earth's remains. Shadows that swallow most of the lands and oceans on Earth without a light of a day.

"We bring you this catastrophic news: A mysterious object or planet appeared out of nowhere."

"Citizens in the Capitol of Zorah are required to use necessary light such as flashlights. It is entirely dark in this part of the region."

"Scientists will be analyzing the mysterious mass, they claim that the mass of this other world is 2x larger than our motherland, but it is yet to be confirmed of the actual size."

"An additional note to the weather forecast, the list of countries that must evacuate immediately, the following are Shamar, Bome, and Mayeinsia. Without the support of the Sun's heat from the atmosphere, the heat cannot pass through the other planet's large mass. This means these parts of Earth will be desperately frozen. Citizens must take priority as early as possible for the safety of your family. We recommend every civilian to follow the government's contingency plan."

"Unfortunately, it is not the entire story. There are mysterious disappearances of people including children, adults, and the old. We do not possess any scientific explanation for the people's disappearance, but the experts claimed about 39% of the population worldwide has disappeared-"

"What was that? Oh! I'm very sorry."

"It seems there are some very complicated matters in our current situation. The percent I have said is not accurate at this point, because the situation has become more delicate."

"Another matter had come across to us that there are unidentified creatures or so-called unidentified humans who had set foot on our home planet and wore traditional clothes from history, medieval, or old clothes. It is hard to describe who these people are, due to the fact that they spoke in a far more different language than we all spoke with the mother tongue, but we assure the conclusion is the cause of the other planet."

"However, there are human-like creatures, that have killed more than 200 civilians in the village of Ghoirne and Cintil."

"We recommend to follow the government's instruction for the safety and priority of your family."

"This is Rebecca Schuman, your news reporter in this live."

===°===

===°===

The very same day. The capital which is the center of the villages of Ghoirne and Cintil, had gathered in a small council meeting in a big house which is inside a conference room: a high building white house with white large pillars sized about 10 meters high shows before the entrance door. Inside the conference room, 5 people sit at the wide table, discussing the current events. Men in suits, black and grey suits, black pointy shoes, with their ties on. This is their first meeting after the events happening.

"Where's Mr. Elwoon?" Asked the man sitting at the center at the last section of the table, with his chin tapping with his index finger. Tall, combed hair, and wears a silver rectangular badge on his suit that shows his position. There were six people at the table but one was missing because of a certain problem. "Missing, Mr. Palmond," answered the white man, with a large mole on his left nose, skinny like a hard-working milkman.

He let go of a big release of breath. Stress was eating him up. "Oh, God, Baba. Him too," he knew the events. There was no denying it. "Let's... just discuss the matters now, shall we?" He commanded not a question that was intentional.

"Of course, Mr. Palmond" one and two answered. "Have you instructed the officers and soldiers?"

"No. The progress of getting is not processing efficiently enough. The dark is what matters," another man said with a bloated belly. "Don't they use GPS or tracking devices?"

"The other planet might have crashed a lot of the satellites, Mr. Palmond," the chub man said worried in a funny voice. "Well?" He exclaimed. "Meaning they won't be able to use the GPS or tracking devices."

"What about antennas to work with the GPS?"

"I'm afraid, Mr. Shroo. It takes four large satellites in outer space to make an exact location. The satellites in our location are destroyed."

Mr. Palmond clicked his tongue. The dark is like an abyss swallowing if a person is walking into it. "Can you turn off the AC? It's freezing here," Mr. Palmond ordered, then someone fetched the remote on the table, then turned off the AC.

"But we can broadcast the contingency plan live, Mr. Palmond," the white man said. "Does it not need satellite signals?" He questioned with anger, lowering his eyebrows together.

"Not at all. The radio and TV broadcast can be used without the satellite, we have antenna towers to work with," he explained. "However, we can't get them all to evacuate, especially from the provinces."

"That is a hard decision, Mr. Hawick" The man with the same tummy as Mr. Shroo, but with a bobhead and a mustache. "Especially the villages that are very far of reach cannot be guided through the dark."

"The streetlights will do."

"We don't know how many of them are working."

"It is better than nothing, I'm sure the technicians are doing their jobs perfectly," Mr. Hawick answered while gesturing his hands. "If the people aren't close to the streetlights, then it is far of our reach to guide them."

"We cannot take them all." Mr. Palmond slammed his hands on the table. "We should focus on the people close to us," he looked down.

"Do the people from the... Let us say do the other humans count them as well, Mr. Palmond?" Mr. Hawick asked brushing his beard. Another sigh came out from the center of the seat. "I don't know. We don't know if they're humans, monsters, or aliens."

"There are about 278 died by the attack from the other world, Mr. Palmond. It will get worse if not given priori-"

"We are taking this priority, Mr. Shroo!" He shouted in frustration, then maintained his attitude. Adjusting his suits. "We have only limited resources to evacuate them all."

"Then we should request from the other countries."

"That will take weeks before they arrive," he exclaimed with another sigh, there is no stopping this. He clasped his hands together and then prayed to Baba.

"I have decided."

===°===

===°===

The Capitol had prepared for the announcement of the evacuation plan. All around the country. Interrupting all the television and radio channels.

A monotone came out from the television and radios, "Emergency Alert System. This is not a test. I repeat this is not a test. All citizens must take caution listening to the announcement."

On the screen of many television around the country. A slim man with tan skin, has a standard white hairstyle in a suit, walked to the podium that had been set up. Fade of echoes started to murmur until the man was at the podium.

He started to cough to get the attention of the audiences. "May I have all your attention, please. This is an emergency."

"As you may all know our current situation. Without the Sun's heat, this place will be deserted to blizzard. We highly prioritize you to prepare necessities for your survival. Necessities include water, food such as canned goods and preservatives, exchange of clothes, and a first-aid kit. We also recommend to use weapons for protection."

"The necessities are for your survival at this very moment. We recommend to muster for your safety and protection."

"Be wary of the other human from the other side."

"That will be all. Baba, God bless us all. We pray for the safety of those people who will manage to live."

Soon the screen turned blue, and a verse of the Lib shows.

Baba 2:27 Believe in me for I am with you, your Father. Put your heart and soul to the Father, Baba the Great. For I made unseeable see.
