Happy Summoner Nifuji-kun
Chapter 6: Southpaw

Chapter 6: Southpaw

Nifuji, who had now finally recovered from his super migraine due to magical overuse gets up from the grass. He cleans off some dirt on his clothes and tries to get up.

A bit shaky and limp in a few places but Nifuji’s noodle-like legs manage to get him back on his feet. He stumbles a bit before steadying himself. He goes to adjust his boots; he had bent down and felt some pull on his back.

I guess I can add being sore to the list of ailments of magical overuse.

Rubbing his temples, he tried to relieve his strong headache. Usually, he could take a nap but he felt too awake to do so. If he had tried to do so, it would’ve been a long period of staring at the roof.

Man, that was quite the headache. Hope there aren’t any lingering effects.

Nifuji scratched his head and looked around, it was a dark night, and he had decided to head back into Vivian’s home through the backdoor.

~~

I wonder where the mark is…

Elric trudged silently around through the second floor. He was armed with a short saber; ordinarily, he would carry a small, curved knife. This saber had some weak anti-magic properties, it was able to strike at magical points and neutralize magic. Although it could only neutralize weak magic.

He came across a long hallway and heard a female voice laughing softly. It was a cheerful laugh that would bring comfort to most people.

“Ah finally, he’s awake, I should welcome him by the door.” A chair was pushed and footsteps could be heard moving towards Elric. Instinctively, the man had retreated onto the roof using one of his magic hooks.

The proud women strutted across the hallway with a confident look. Elric was alarmed, for each step she took closer to him, a torch became lit.

Oh, how inconvenient…

When she finally got to the space near Elric, it was like time stopped. The torch near Elric had lit and in purple light, he could be clearly seen. Vivian with her heightened senses was able to sense a presence and her eyes instantly darted up. Elric who was stuck onto the roof like a spider was unsheathing his saber. His eyes had suddenly changed color, from a peaceful green to a glowing red.

「 3rd Talent of Blood Reaper, Eyes That Drip Blood.」

Vivian had recognized the trademark eyes. Blood Reapers are strong in close combat and have glowing eyes whenever their bloodlust is triggered. Most people feared those red eyes as they were a sign of death, but experienced fighters usually used it to their advantage; after all, those eyes mark where a person’s head would be.

Another mook to kill, I ought to be careful. Huhu, if I show up with wounds I think Nifuji would be traumatized.

Elric had leaped off from the ceiling onto the ground and slashed at Vivian with his saber. Vivian could only dodge the wind-like Elric with her reflexes and wasn’t able to properly. With his bloodlust, Elric is quite agile, and the only thing that hampered him was the tight corridor. A sudden roundhouse kick had found its way into Vivian’s side.

The blow had sent Vivian back a considerable distance, “Tch.” Fortunately, the kick had sent her a far distance back and she was able to steady her hands to point down the hallway. “Come out, Now.” Her voice had a commanding tone to it.

Soon a magic circle appeared, it was a pink circle that was filled with geometric shapes. A flurry of pink spikes shot out in random directions down the hallway. Elric was almost overwhelmed, in this situation he could only deflect with his saber and dodge around.

Battles in tight corridors like these, Vivian had the advantage. Her pink crystals were able to rapidly shoot straight down a hallway and overwhelm most opponents.

Suddenly, a saber came flying down the hallway, it broke crystals as it flew down and had a purple aura in it. A pair of red eyes could be seen rapidly approaching, and Elric came into the light. He had a few crystals embedded in him and caught up to the saber to kick it. Elric gracefully kicked the blade into the wall and used it as a stepping stone. He jumped onto the ceiling again like a rabid animal and from the air pounced Vivian.

Sensing the danger, Vivian stepped to the side and elbowed Elric onto the ground. The elbow had sent him crashing into the ground before slightly bouncing. He was slightly stunned so the Witch kicked Elric away with a strong blow. “Not the most elegant way of doing things, but it will suffice.”

Elric was feeling a mixture of frustration and anger.

This is frustrating, a Blood Reaper should kill with ease, and yet I cannot. This abhorrent Witch, damn it.

Vivian kicked one of the windows and formed a triangle with her fingers. Purple smoke began to appear in the room and soon there was only 1 person in the hallway.

He was only able to weakly watch before the smoke had blocked his vision from the ground as Vivian retreated outside.

Had his senses confused him? The smell of the smoke was a strange perplexing blend. It had smelt of nice flowers, but he was able to feel strong killing intent. There was no mistaking it, it was poisonous smoke. Blood pooled from Elric’s body, the crystals had left quite the mark on his person.

“From… blood… come strength. Find… yourself within…” Elric coughed some blood, “ me… transform me.” He placed his hand on the pooling blood. A triangle appeared around him and it had sucked up the blood on the ground.

Sacred Ritual Zit III Blood, a technique taught by one of Elric’s mentors. The name was a bit odd, but one of Elric’s mentors, another Blood Reaper, had created this technique for a single purpose. It was to reconstitute one’s body and give its castor strength. However, the intended blood was meant to be someone else’s…

Once all the blood dried up, Elric had found himself able to stand yet something was off about his presence. There was a foul haze around him, dark red trails flew around him. Cloudy small horns appeared on his head. He quickly launched himself through the window in a somersault motion.

The staircase felt longer than usual, A tired Nifuji could be seen walking up. He was thinking about his magical capabilities and what unique stuff he could do. After all, he was able to fire an arrow-shaped projectile at a rock and blow a hole in it. Surely he could do more, he thought. Plus his headache was subsiding too!

Multi-Worlds Summoner, huh. If I look at it word by word, the summoner obviously means summoning stuff. In the traditional sense, I should be able to summon creatures to fight for me. I know in some games I always enjoyed summoning skeletons and buddy animals to assist me in my battles. Although my character usually took the lead in the battles, it may seem I may be locked to a supporting role as primarily a summoner. But hopefully, I can dish out some pain on my own.

Once he had finally made it up the stairs, glass could be heard loudly shattering, and it had startled Nifuji, causing him to tumble down it. He heard some strange crystal explosions and ran towards the door. The locks were a bit stiff and Nifuji fumbled with them to jerk them open. He failed then decided to kick the door down.

Bam, the door slammed open and an intense scene was in plain view. Vivian was floating in the sky while readying a magical spell, and a red-eyed Elric was leaping towards her with a kick that resembled the Crane style of Chinese Kung-fu. Vivian was caught off-guard and was kicked in the gut. She was able to let out a dark flame ball that enveloped Elric. But she fell to the ground.

“Oh damn. ” Nifuji readied his mind for the coming fight with the flame man. Thankfully, a strong mind was what Nifuji had, and he practiced some martial arts in Japan. However, actual combat was something else. He lived a docile life and didn’t stir the pot too much, so he’s never been in an actual fight. Adapting a freeform southpaw stance, Nifuji readied himself for a fight. He kept his feet in motion and kept his breathing steady. In some sparring tournaments, he did fairly well as he was precise with his strikes but lacked aggression so he had trouble setting the pace in a match.

Vivian was knocked unconscious on the ground. She kinda looked peaceful on the ground, but she was in obvious pain. Elric was on the ground, he was heading towards Vivian and his bloodlust shrouded him in an intense aura. Nifuji correlated this with Elric going “Berserk.” From a game perspective, Elric probably had high attack stats and low defense stats. He was going to play the long game and be defensive while taking precise strikes. It was a good thing that Nifuji’s freeform stance allowed him to dodge attacks and attack at points where he is most advantageous. Mainly in point-based tournaments, this was good as he only need a few strong strikes to win, but he was fighting to the death.

“Hey, you! You scumbag! Get away from her!” Nifuji yelled for the first time in a while. His voice was a bit weak but taunted Elric. In the life before this world, being soft-spoken was natural for Nifuji, he never had to provoke anyone, only poke and prod at people. Elric looked towards the boy, ready to fight.

“Oh, it’s the boy. I was only told to bring you alive, but you don’t have to be in perfect condition.” Elric snarled at the boy and adopted a Kung-Fu stance. It resembled a tiger’s ferocity with the aggression of a hyena.

Huh, Chinese Kung-fu, I practiced under a Kung-fu master before. It was mainly conditioning, but that monster’s stance resembles a technique of the Tiger Fist. I wonder if I can inject some magic into my stance or perhaps conjure a weapon. Maybe use my talent as a summoner and summon something.

“From the Earth, I summon forth, scales that wrap thee, a dragon that follows me.” Three magic circles wrapped Nifuji. Intense winds were being created, which blew Nifuji’s hair around, and a purple aura surrounded him. He fell to his knees for a bit but was able to steady himself.

「Seven Seas Dragon Violet」

An eastern-style dragon wrapped around Nifuji, its long body had brilliant violet scales and had a blue-flame aura around it. Although there were some strange properties of the dragon. Some of his body was composed of strange constantly fading squares.

An impressed Vivian watched from the ground, biding her time. She wanted to see the prowess of her pupil in combat and was proud of his first true creation. Although it was definitely lacking in some areas. His first creation, a dragon of squares? Her only regret was that she wished to fight alongside Nifuji. That kick brutalized Vivian and left her weak and unable. The only piece of good news was that it wasn’t fatal, and was able to watch the match.

“Huh, an interesting dragon I see, maybe your condition upon arrival will be slightly damaged now.” Elric snapped at Nifuji. “Come at me with that dragon of yours.” He taunted Nifuji while having his arms crossed.

A quick strategy would be to attack alongside my summon, I guess I’ll name it Tsukasa. I can probably either have Tsukasa act as the main target and target his weaknesses, or vice versa. Stats-wise I’m not sure how strong Tsukasa is and I’m not sure how my normal strength measures to this world. I feel some heat in my head, I better start moving.

Run with me. Now.

Nifuji and Tsukasa ran to opposing sides around Elric. He quickly got into a stance to face Tsukasa and Nifuji roundhouse kicked Elric in the knee. Elric dropped slightly and Tsukasa dove towards Elric and blasted an energy blast at him. The two were fighting in tandem well. Elric tried to kick Tsukasa but Nifuji kicked the back of Elric’s knee, grappled him from the back, and threw him over.

Elric got up from the ground and got into a crane stance. His arms were spread out and his feet were far apart. He hopped around a bit too. His aura exuded itself at specific points of his body and had changed color from a blood red to a dark ocean blue. It seems he adjusted himself to fighting 2 opponents. Specifically, his legs, arms, and shoulders were key hotspots of a magical aura on his body.

A flying kick from Nifuji came towards Elric’s way and he parried it with an elbow strike. He then wrapped his arm around his leg, Nifuji tried to use his free leg to kick him but he hastily threw him onto Tsukasa. The lanky dragon dodged the hurling boy and went for a precise strike at Elric’s elbow. His elbow quickly responded and repelled the dragon with his elbow which knocked it away.

“What happened to your dynamic flow?” A growingly confident Elric taunted. He relaxed his shoulders and pranced around a little bit. “I guess your condition will be slightly damaged as expected.”

It had seemed that Elric was simply getting purposely hit in order to gauge Nifuji’s patterns and attacks. He had quickly adapted to the situation with his Crane stance and simply wiped the floor with the inexperienced fighter.

The stunned Nifuji quickly rolled himself up and tried to sweep at Elric’s legs. But his sharp reactions allowed him to leap from the ground and do a long kick at Nifuji, sending him into a tree. He was unconscious and Tsukasa dispersed itself.

Vivian tried to crawl towards Nifuji, but her limbs failed her. Assuming she was dead, Elric went towards the unconscious Nifuji. She was only to watch as Elric picked up Nifuji and took him away.
