Relaxing in her office/lab/bedroom was Vivian playing around with a few potions. The witch always enjoyed mixing up new concoctions and experimenting with their effects. She had a somewhat morbid curiosity in the world of possibilities.
There was one occurrence in which Vivian had given a Rathingo a blend of strength and weightless potions. The lizard had grown large muscle mass however the muscles themselves could be popped like balloons. It was an evening filled with the sound of loud pops.
It is important to note that Vivian still cared for animals. The Rathingo was given a potion that basically made it laugh (a result of another experiment) whenever something happened to it. So the lizard was having fun as best it could with its heightened intelligence compared to most other animals.
“Hmm hmm~ What to create today…” Vivian peered over a batch of herbs and ingredients. She usually went to the neighboring forest to collect her basic materials however sometimes she would raid criminals for exotic materials. In her mind, it was alright to steal from criminals as criminals couldn’t report themselves to the police. Although this action made her semi-notable in the criminal space. This coming notoriety has caused just her appearance to force criminals to surrender and have their goods.
The cabinet had a variety of exotic ingredients on it. There were jars labeled “Essence of Slime”, “Salt of Owlbear?” and many other questionable materials. Some of the jars had still moving contents. If Nifuji were to see this he would probably pass out from the oddities present in the jars, he’s very squeamish.
Vivian decided to mix a concoction of a slime’s essence and a few magical herbs. She gracefully weaved around the lab, grabbing ingredients and using her fingers to light up beakers while humming a graceful tune. Usually, the properties of a slime softened whatever the potion was absorbed into. During baking, Vivian once poured the softening potion onto some bread and made it extra soft. It tasted fine and the texture was great, but it was hard to convince people to buy slime bread.

The teal mixture had green bubbles bursting from it and red smoke bloomed through from the potion, Vivian gave it a good shook, and the contents fully mixed. She had slid a sponge into the potion to see if it mixed. It emitted a dark cloud that went back to normal. A glorious luminous potion was created.
Vivian was expecting the potion to be a soft potion with the springiness of a sponge. Although sometimes the effects of a potion can be something unexpected depending on the ingredient added in.

The potion quickly found its way to a test subject, a piece of dough. Vivian wanted to make a springy piece of bread that she could toss around like a bouncy ball.
She used her thumb to flick the cap off of the potion and poured it over the bread dough like a chef who poured an elegant sauce over an over-detailed desert.
“Come on now, bouncy dough, bouncy dough.” Vivian’s eyes sparkled as the liquid trickled into the dough.
The dough started to animate like slime and rippled around. It didn’t leave any moisture as any typical slimes did.
Vivian pondered. “I guess the sponge in the potion made it suck the liquids that slimes leave by. It can be a mobile sponge. I just hope it doesn’t get too moldy.”

The bread-slime sponge hopped around happily and picked up dust around the house. Vivian had retired to one of the 2nd-floor windows and quietly sat with some tea while watching Nifuji mess around with his magic outside on the lawn.
Vivian quietly watched the boy play around, she had found it cute and entertaining. She felt a form of accomplishment over Nifuji’s quick learning of magic, her expression was similar to a proud mother.
Nifuji tried to conjure an arrow and Vivian eyed him with anticipation.
Oh my, he’s already learning how to fire projectiles. (≧∇≦)/
She was almost about to burst with pride until the arrow flopped onto the ground. Vivian chuckled at the very obvious face of disappointment on Nifuji.
Come on now, try again! ˙˚ʚ(´◡`)ɞ˚˙
A hushed yell of excitement could be heard when Nifuji began chanting another incantation. The arrow slowly began to came into form, and Vivian looked like a cheerleader encouraging their favorite sports team.
“Go Nifuiji! Go Nifuji!”
The arrow flew into a rock and created a small hole in it. On a technical level, it was quite impressive, being able to send an arrow at high speed while also having it impact something was quite hard for beginners in magic. So Vivian was very proud of her prodigy.
