Jack was ready. He was born ready for this moment. Ready to slaughter some fantasy looking creatures, and take it to their home, and ‘accidentally’ massacre a small village, if they were that civilised. Jack banished the intrusive thought to the back of head- he was a proud member of the United States military, and wasn’t going to tarnish its reputation for petty revenge. As the enemy came into view, a cascade of warning shots were fired, but knowing the enemy, or at least the limited knowledge they had of them, they weren’t going to heed it. And then some wizard looking fucker tried chucking a fireball at the lines. A goddamned fireball. How dumb was this fucker? Jack wondered. Womp womp for them then.
The combined us lines opened fire with a crackling akin to multiple chainsaws with dynamite. The poor wizard and co didn’t stand a chance. With canister shot turning all the nearest enemy to a fine meat paste, mashed up into fertiliser. Bullets ripping the enemy apart, wizards falling under the fire, turned into a gory Swiss cheese, blood leaking from the many holes, until someone shot their head off, exploding it and turning the head into something not too different from an exploded punch bowl, filled with paste. The screams and begging of the enemy was drowned out by the shear amount of firepower, only stopping when they threw up their hands. The fire died down, and marksman teams targeted the remaining foes, occasional cracks followed by red blooms in the distance.
After they were captured, the FBI personnel on site humanely interrogated the prisoners. Technically they were elves and not human, so human rights didn’t apply, which was a fact some individuals took advantage of, for they were invaders with outward aggression. “Men and women, we have got some information that these people attempted to invade us for something called mana crystals, which are needed for extended periods of magic casting. That’s right magic. In a world like a game. You may think, where do we come in, our humble company of regular army, well, most other companies here are being made signed to non disclosure agreements on the events here, but luckily, everyone here is going to the other side of the portal they came through, we’ll be making an fob, then wait for marines, air force and rangers, before pushing into hostile territory. Another important aspect is, the people we interrogated revealed a strange black liquid that is deep underground and highly flammable, as well as another deeper down that isn’t as flammable. We are to take the mystery liquid by means of trade, and if the possessors are hostile towards us, you know what to do!” The major remarked. “You get me?”
”Sir, yes sir!”
Jack and the others went back to their barracks, contemplating what the figgity fuck just happened.
"Damn Jack, you finally off huh?" the most unoriginal idiot, Ramirez joked, trying to lighten up the mood.
"Man, shut the fuck up, I didn't give my name, and come up with something new, I would say that to your haircut, but unfortunately, your creativity has disappeared faster than your father, so please shush for the sake of everyone's sanity." Jack remarked, obviously pissed and on end after witnessing whatever the fuck they were fighting.

"jeez, did you get sand in your asshole or something, what's wrong?"
"What do you mean what's wrong? Did you not see that new guy get absolutely burnt. Bones and all? I didn't even learn his name yet, and now he's dead!" Jack shouted, "I'm sorry man, it's just that he didn't deserve to go out like that, there isn't even a body to bury anymore."
"I know, but don't beat yourself up about it, he was acting like a stereotypical kid in a horror film, just standing in front of something waiting to die. It almost seems like someone just wrote the whole scene for some excitement factor, but we'll get revenge. Don't worry about it, better him than us right? Don't get survivors guilt. There was nothing you could've done bar dying yourself." ramirez remarked, hoping to make poor jack feel better. For the most part it worked.
In around an hour, they formed up, took their m-21 ARs, then piled into the back of about 20 next gen Bradley apcs, carrying 10 infantry per vehicle, with 4 escorts abrams and an assortment of trucks and digging equipment on standby, for when a big enough plot of land is deemed secure.
As the armoured column trundle on by, another lot of things came out of the shimmering energy thing they were racing towards, and without hesitation, both fired. The 20 Bradley's 37mm autocannon thumped and turned the things that came out of the portal into little more than five individual limbs, with the torso completely gone, except a red mist, and for some creatures green? The abrams main gun fired, ripping right through multiple beasts and the humanoid creatures behind them, the coaxial and top mounted machine guns ripping through the poor hapless things, the dragons that came through the portal instantly neutralized by cannon rounds from a bradley, the few that managed to take off shattering in a gory mess of blood and guts by the Bradley's laser guided missiles or LGMs, designed for a helicopter, with much more manoeuvrebility and speed, making short work of the things.
This time no one surrendered, even the barriers shields ripped apart in mere seconds, no one had time to surrender. The bunch of vehicles plowed threw the bloody mess, and radioed back to base to send a disposal team, couldn’t let the bunch of death start to rot, because the stink itself would most likely deter many from venturing near the portal thing.
”Soldiers, listen up, we’re going to be going to head inside the portal soon, and we’re not completely sure what’s on the other side, or even if our radioes can go between worlds, which why we’re staying inside, and sending a drone inside, to first survey the surroundings” the major announced, as a small rc car looking thing with some scientific equipment and a gun mounted. It went through, and to everyone’s surprise, the air tested fine, along with there being no enemy presence around the portal, apart from a few rock things that the rc car easily dispatched. It went out scouting to about 10 miles, finding a large forest, as well as what looked like a large village, or maybe even a small town, but unfortunately before they could investigate, the feed to the drone cut, so it inevitably self destructed with a small charge on its back to prevent anything from learning how to make another.
“Alright people, let’s move out!” The major ordered, before telling groom lake, or Area 51 top brass. As Jacks APC trundled on, he couldn’t help but wonder what could happen. The vehicles went to the other side, then some strange screen appeared in Jacks head, and assuming from the reactions of everyone else in the apc, they got it too.
