Chapter 5

I felt a rough bumping as we came through the Starpath someone must have messed up when they set up the coordinates opening it. It took me a moment to orient myself. I was draped over Khan's back, Tyr's hand holding me in place. I blinked, there were streaks of red on the white and brown striped fur. Phone, something about a phone.

“Phone. Need to check in.” Tyr gave me a worried look.

“Cathal? Can you hear me? Your memories are distorted from coming back to Midgard. Do you have a way home? We need to get you behind your wards and get you a healer you’re seriously injured.” I rolled my eyes trying to look around and reached towards a rock on the ground. Khan pawed the rock over.

“Can you open this up Tyr? He hid a phone in it before we left. We need to,” He stopped as Tyr picked up the fake stone and crushed it and the phone in his hand. “Never mind you just broke it.”

“Girls, Khan, get one of the girls.” Gods it was getting dark fast, my head was pounding harder also, not to mention that searing pain in my side and why did it taste like I had pennies in my mouth? I spat out a mouth full of blood, and carefully slid myself down off Khan and landed painfully on a sharp edged rock jamming itself into another wound I hadn't realized I had in my shoulder. I didn't bother trying to prevent myself from passing out. Given the amount of pain I was in being unconscious was actually a blessing.
