— The world doesn’t need the weak, the incapable, and the morons; the brain outweighs the heart, ever since humans gained sentience.
I say as I look over the massive spire, looking down on the kingdom below me.
I feel a strong hatred for people that don't know how to pull themselves from their boots.
They make reasons instead of actions.
Useless.
The world revolves around money, power, and magic. The strong get to control one but the strongest gets to control all three.
I control The Black Market Ring; I’m the Ringleader. I destroy the chance of the people getting up to my level and ally with the people that are eye level with me and use them for what they’re worth.
I have everything—women, fame, powerful artefacts, and powerful spells but, you, Owens. You have the last thing that I need: the family heirloom that you stole. It belongs to ME!
I then look at the mirror to slick back my hair. I find a young man, stricken with pain from the past looking back at me straight in the eyes. The dead look on my dark eyes met with the man in the mirror staring back at me with the same dead eyes I have.
They took all of the chances I had in life and now I have everything, I’m still missing one thing that I’ve wanted. I have everything but I’m still missing one thing… I hate you, Owens.
I left my room, swaying my overcoat’s tail as I went to close the door behind me. A maid was just outside of the room to deliver a message.
— Lord Mark, the accomplice of the operation, held a meeting out of the blue. I suggest going immediately.
Said the maid whilst bowing as to show respect.
The only times I tolerate the weak below me is when they respect me and acknowledge the people above them.
I am a man of power, greed fuels my heart like a dragon sleeping on mounds of gold. My authority precedes the king’s to the point even he kneels before me on cue. Even the monarchy is in my control but my greed knows no bounds.
I take a seat in the round table along with my accomplice in an operation to locate and capture Owens.
— Lord Mark, we have yet found Owens but–
I slammed by fist at the table. They’re insolence is unbearable. They are supposed to be doing what they are worth for but they can’t do anything but provide diversion and excuses.

— I WON’T SETTLE FOR THIS!! CAPTURE OWENS AND NO ONE ELSE…
I made my way to his seat and gripped his face with my right hand. This will be the last thing he will ever see until his demise and if I’m being frank, this is the best way they should go because they are weak.
After a few seconds and a tensed air surrounding the room, the wall beside me and my clothes were then smothered with brain matter although most of it was just a bloody watery-goop.
The other people in the room were unfazed as they knew what was coming. It’s good that they know their position and their fate when I’m done using them for what they are worth.
The maid standing by the door of the room came up to me to wipe the blood and brain-matter and blood off my cheek before giving me a light kiss.
— …DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR!?
— Yes, Lord Mark!
They all said in unison. But a second after that, a voice of a woman spoke up.
— Lord Mark, unlike his incompetence, I have leads regarding Owen’s whereabouts. It’s such a shame that it had to be us knowing his whereabouts instead of his own parents whom he ran from.
She said mockingly with a mocking grin that could challenge a person’s dignity and sense of pride.
The person who said it was a young woman with a magic tome on her left hand. She had flowing black hair, a short dress with a red top and black bottom which gives people the impression that she is an innocent young lady that shouldn’t be expected to be an accomplice to a heinous crime.
— While I was passing by The Kingdom of Azelia, I saw Owens stop by to sell his wares. Luckily, I already planted a bug in his carriage whilst he wasn’t looking. He’s currently camping in the High Forest for the night.
She said in a low tone whilst having a confident undertone. I know I could trust her from her confidence and her aura from the get go. Finally having someone competent as my confidant calmed down my nerves.
— Finally, one of my confidants has leads regarding Owens.
— What is our course of action next, Lord Mark?
— Naturally I want him to be captured in the dead of night, away from the eyes of the people passing by.
— Well said, Lord Mark. Your desires are ours.
She then leaves then leaves the room. The thud the door made echoed through the small room. I should stay in touch with her instead of killing her off. She would make a good confidant.
I looked at the other accomplices of mine sitting on the table with a serious expression on their faces. They are ready to receive orders.
— You rest, prepare for what’s about to come. I won’t repeat myself. Showing incompetence results in death, remember it well.
— Yes, Lord Mark!
They all replied in unison with determination in their voice.
— Very well. Prepare the Shadow Reactor.
They all dispersed, leaving the room. All that's left is to catch Owens and take the artefact for myself. I am so close to completing my life’s mission. It’s been so long since I’ve smirked and felt the plan falling into place.
I will capture you, Owens. I’ll take everything from you. I’ve always hated you from the day I saw you. The day you were born… My younger brother.
