Now that I’ve been walking for about an hour or so. I’ve started to wonder. Why did it seem so natural to just swing my claws? Maybe I really did have some auto-combat installed… And really, how was the frontlines even pushed back? Those swords didn’t even put a scratch on my armor. Is it because they were deserters? No, deserters would’ve been captured. Another possibility could be that they were bandits… But that doesn’t matter. None of it does anyways. They died. They attacked, if I retaliated because I was provoked, that should be okay. Right? Right. That’s okay. I killed 10 men who attacked me. Yup. Perfectly normal. Nope. Not having an emotional break down. Nope. Not at all.
Unable to hold it back in, I fall to my knees gasping for air. The tears stream down my face. If this were just a dream, I wouldn’t just have ended 10 lives. I wouldn’t have to fight. I wouldn’t be in a different world. I simply… Would exist… I… I enjoyed simply existing… Not everyone likes to fight. I’m not battle maniac. I don’t know much about weapons. That’s why I studied so much… I wanted a solution to end all the fighting… I studied computer coding and engineering thinking of a way to create robots to make lives for everyone easier. I studied physics because I knew our planet was screwed and we needed to take off from our planet. I studied chemistry for a way to create artificial oxygen for the people who would board the space ships. I never fought a single time in my life.
But that all ended before I could fulfill my wish. I died. Should I end the fighting here? No. That would simply be too idealistic. First of all, it takes generations to take an idea out of people's heads. Think of it. Hundreds of years ago. America outlawed slavery. Yet racism continued to persist throughout the generations. How hard would it be to change the idea that robots deserve to live as well? The idea that robots are unholy beings would’ve been engraved into the people’s heads. There is also the possibility that this idea is what kept the organic species from fighting each other.
Why do I know there are other species? Because this is a different world. Of course there are different species, or I could just be wrong and there are only humans.
So what should my goal be currently? I can attempt to end all this fighting, but that would take hundreds of years. Or I could travel and get a grasp of how advanced this world is. If they have sentient robots, they have got to be more advanced than Earth. But then why do the people use swords? I don’t understand…
Drying my tears. Wait, robots can cry? Anyways. Drying my tears, I drag myself to the nearest tree to lay down and continue to think.
The problem about language shouldn’t be a problem. Afterall. I was able to understand those humans perfectly fine. What I should do is probably inspect the technological advancements. Yes, I said it before. But I want to know why this world has sentient robots, but uses swords. Could it because of the use of magic? Magic does seem to stem a person’s knowledge. An understanding of science usually allows a person to utilize magic in better quantities. At least, that’s what happened in stories anyways.
Lets test this out, chanting, “By my will, stop the movement of all water molecules 1 meter in front of me”
The space 1 meter ahead of me turns into a frozen wasteland. It… Seems as though I was correct… Hmm? My battery has dropped by 1 percent. Ah. Solar energy also dropped by 5 percent and the battery has jumped to full.
So what this shows is that solar energy is just a reserve battery and that 5 percent of this reserve is 1 percent of the main battery. Seems nice. I wonder if I can make other combinations?
Starting again, I chant, “By my will funnel the winds to my will and bring me 5 meters into the sky.”
And I start rising to a height 5 meters in the sky. It seems that exerting my will takes 1 percent for every meter. And by continuing this observation… It seems that for every minute of keeping myself in a certain state, uses 1 percent as well. Nice, 1 percent for 1 meter of manipulation and 1 percent for keeping the manipulated material in it’s state for one minute. So… How do I stop manipulating this? I don’t actually want to stay in the air… Hmm… Actually. Do I even need to chant in order to manipulate my surroundings?
Saying a mental command, I drop to the ground and the frozen wasteland remains. Does it take time to return to a normal temperature? Or is this change permanent? Oh well. This probably won’t come back to bite me... Probably. Let’s just move far far far away from here…
Many hours later of fast pace running I reach the outskirts of something that looks like a village. What the heck did I skip? I expected at least a path or something… Actually, my pressurized tank hasn’t dropped at all. Is it because the air is kept within the body, and that it only starts to drop when it’s leaking? Probably. I wonder what that missile was that was able to make my tank start to leak…

Anyways. I still need to figure out what to do now. I’ve arrived at a village. Now, when I say village, I actually looks quite well kept. The houses are evenly spaced out, some of them have yards, some don’t. But they all seem to have a vehicle that could look like a car. But I suspect that it’s powered by mana or some other way. Maybe this world went the steampunk route? But that wouldn’t explain the sentient robots…
All in all, this town isn’t like the medieval period. But there aren’t any planes that I’ve seen so far. But the idea of slavery may or may not still exist here. I wouldn’t know, I would have to enter this town… And entering a town like this would bring suspicion… It would probably be better to find a city where travellers would be common… Or is walking around on foot not normal? Is there anything like a license required to drive these cars? Oh well. I’ll just have to travel on foot and hope that it’s normal… I hope there are some. Oh. I found a path! Time to follow this path and hope it leads to a city…
I’ve followed this path for the past hour or so. Why is it there aren’t any sign posts or anything that could tell me if this path actually leads somewhere? Damn. I’ve walked so far I might as well see the end of this path. For all I know, a city might be days of walking away. Not that it matters because I don’t need to sleep or eat… At least, I don’t think I need to. I am a robot right? I’m self sustaining… The only problem is do I need sleep? I’ll just sleep when I need to. Not that anything could hurt me. Probably. Actually, 666 made it seem as if fighting monsters was hard and that we needed help… Well crap.
“Hey! This guy is actually walking on the path to the city! He’s asking to be robbed!” I hear someone whisper.
“Quiet, the only people who can afford cars are the rich ones. And since this guy is walking, he must be poor.” Another voice whispers.
Wait. So I just walked by the rich neighborhood? Wow. But… These guys… These guys are bandits. Right? I mean there is only 10 of them.
“You hear what happened to that squad we sent to raid the frontlines?” Said the first voice.
“Yeah, what about it?” Said a third voice.
“You don’t think they were discovered by the authorities there right?” The first voice asked timidly. “They never came back. They were expected to be back within 10 hours.”
So those guys back there were bandits. Well no hair off my back.
“They probably found some poor soul to torture or something.” Said the second voice.
Ah… But the ten I killed might actually not be the group these guys are talking about.
“Psst! Hey! The target is almost here! Stop talking.” Said a fourth voice.
This… These guys want to fight me? But… I don’t know how to fight? Sure, auto fight might come on but what if it fails? So… What should I do? Should I just go for magic? What’s my battery at?
Battery: 100%
Awesome. It’s full.
Starting a chant, I shout, “BY MY WILL, BEND THESE WINDS TO MY WILL AND FLING THEM TOWARDS MY ENEMIES!”
“SHIT! He’s a mage! Take him down! Take him down!” Shout’s the fourth voice. This guy is probably the leader.
A hail of arrows fly towards me, and to stop them I chant “By my will, do not allow the air 1 inch in front of me from reaching me.” That should work as a barrier.
“What is this guy?! He stopped all our arrows! Why is a level 5 mage here? Shouldn’t this guy be travelling in a car?” Cries out a fifth voice.
So I’m a level five mage? What does that mean? How many levels are there to this hierarchy?
“It doesn’t matter! Just keep firing!” Commands the the fourth voice.
“By my will stop all molecular movement around me in a 5 meter area!” I shout.
Author’s Note:
Hey guys, since I’m going to be busy this week and next week, don’t expect a chapter until at least 3/14/16. On that note, enjoy this steep steep cliff!
