Ian dragged Sullivan away to the other end of the city. As they walked Ian kept muttering things to himself like.”Impossible… only a… no way he could… travelers… way too strong… need to make friends…” and more random garbage that Sullivan only caught bits of.
Sullivan just enjoyed his walk. The city was still gorgeous and he lost himself looking at all of the houses and buildings that were perfectly positioned throughout the city.
When they finally arrived at what appeared to be Ian's house. Ian all but dragged him inside and they sat down in a posh little living room with plants and what even appeared to be a venus fly trap. They sat down on opposite sides of the dark brown coffee table in the middle of the room.
¨so…¨ Ian began not completely sure how to start. ”How long have you been in our world?” Ian finally quizzed him.
”Give or take about a day.” Sullivan said after some consideration. ”But I also went through this thing called integration and that knocked me out so I don't really know how long.”
Ian looked dumbfounded. ”The System Integrated you!?! I thought that only happened to the people on Dolor before the System came to the world and started the grand apocalypse.”
”At this point you know as much as me if not more.” Sullivan confessed.”As I said I've only been here for a couple of days but I have two quests to complete though none of them have a timeframe, is that normal.”
Ian shook off his stupor. “Yeah only quests for C-grade and above have a time limit because the System knows them more and knows what is reasonable- or what is ridiculously hard.”
”I have a quest to learn more about this world. Could you help me?” Sullivan asked hopefully.
”Sure but you have to form a party with me for at least 3 adventures.” Ian bargained.
Contract Offered. Accept?
”As long as one of them involves killing slimes- that's another quest I have.” Sullivan hurried before he asked.
Contract Updated. Accept?
”Yes” both Sullivan and Ian said in unison.
“Now that that is out of the way we can get started. Oh, wait, I need to know the exact requirements. Can you send me your quests?” Ian asked him eyes going vacant for a second and he seemed to be checking something on his notifications then he blinked out of it and shot a questioning glance at Sullivan. “Well?”
“Umm… I don’t know how to do that.” Sullivan said hesitantly.
“Huh? Oh it's easy just bring up your quests and “will” it to me.”
“Really? That seems easy. Since when is anything easy in this world?” Sullivan wondered aloud.
Ian just glared at him.
“Okay, okay I'm doing it! I'm doing it!” Sullivan told him.
Sullivan pulled up his quests.
(Class Quest) I Love Crits - Get as many crits as possible in a row 26/Infinity Rewards: Variable, Class skills upgraded(Variable)
The World I'm In - Learn more about this world and what stats, classes and races are 0/3 Rewards: Knowledge, Variable, Hidden
If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
To Kill or Not To Kill - Slay 10 slimes and bring back their remains for the guild merchant 0/10 Rewards: Copper Coins(Variable), Variable, Hidden
“Pretty simple quests except for that crit one that is going to be horrible and you probably won’t get any good rewards unless you get a really high score, which is going to be pretty difficult.” Ian mused.
“Really? So far all of my hits have been crits.” Sullivan said with a puzzled look.
“Probably because you only attacked someone at your level which makes crits more likely.” Ian pushed the question away.
“The guy I fought was some 30 levels above me.” Sullivan said aghast.
Ian spluttered. “What! Alright can you please share your status screen with me? I need to understand what the heck is going on.”
“Sure it’s not that big of a deal as long as you help me out.” Sullivan brought up his status.

Ian just gaped at the page for a while. After the silence got uncomfortable Sullivan cleared his throat.
“Wha… HOW ARE YOUR STATS SO HIGH!?!?!” Ian all but screamed.
Sullivan flinched backward and tipped the sofa he was sitting in over and just lay on the ground. “Oww”
“Ahh! I'm so sorry! I didn’t mean to scare you like that.” Ian said sheepishly as he helped Sullivan up.
“So about that quest…” Sullivan trailed off hoping for some answers.
“Oh yeah here I go tell me if you need clarification or have any questions, okay?” After Sullivan gave a nod of affirmation he started.
“Stats are a representation of your power; each stat means something different. STR or strength is a representation of your physical strength and ability to lift, push, shove and carry much like normal strength. DEX or dexterity is a representation of your nimbleness and coordination and it makes you more streamlined and faster.
“END or endurance makes you have more energy and makes it take longer for you to get tired. This also lets you use more skills in a shorter amount of time. CON or constitution is how tough your body is and how much punishment you can take before your body gives up and can’t go any further. CON and END complement each other in a large way. All of these stats are known as the physical stats.”
“Now that you know that, let's move on to the mental stats. WIS, also called wisdom, helps keep your mind clear and enhances your “gut feeling” if you know what I mean.” Sullivan nodded that he understood he relied on his gut a lot in some of the more tricky fights. INT or intelligence helps you keep your mind orderly and helps you remember things easier. Both of these stats affect your natural magic regeneration.
“CHA or charisma, helps your words come more easily to you and makes people naturally want to listen to what you say. LUCK is pretty self explanatory; it is how often you will get more lucky drops from monsters and chests. Luck affects the world around you and super high luck literally changes the world around you to benefit you just that much more. Luck and charisma both help your aura but that's only when you're in the E-grade.
“Now for the last ones, normally it's just skill but I'm going to assume your class unlocks the magic stat for you.” Ian continued after Sullivan nodded in confirmation. “Okay that's nice, well the skill stat cannot be upgraded by free stat point, it can only be upgraded by your class and training. The skill stat makes you perform better and do more complicated actions a heck of a lot easier. Now for your last stat, Magic. Magic is a unique stat that everyone unlocks eventually but it's usually in the epic or up class range with some exceptions. The magic stat makes your natural magic pool higher. The amazing thing about magic though, is that it is not additive it is multiplicative so the higher your starting pool of magic the higher the stat enhances it so if someone has a decent magic stat and their fighting someone with an insanely high magic stat the person with the lower stat could technically have more magic because they have a higher starting pool make sense?”
“Yeah” Sullivans head was spinning, that was a lot of information to take in in such a short amount of time.
“Ready for classes?” Ian asked after drinking something out of a cup that hadn’t been there before.
“Sure, let's do this,” Sullivan said with more than a little anticipation.
“Okay there's a lot less to talk about this subject so i'll just dive right into it.” Ian began.”The classes go useless, trash, common, uncommon, rare, epic, legendary, mythic, lord, king, emperor, god, and god-king.”
“Useless is typically found in animals and very low leveled monsters. Trash is found in the weakest sentients and quite a few monsters. Common is better but mostly the same as is uncommon and rare. Epic is where most of the madness starts. Epic classes are reserved for royalty or very skilled individuals. Legendary though… legendary is the highest class you can get in the F-grade and as such is stupidly powerful.
“Mythic and above are only possible through rank ups and very rare occasions. Whenever you get to lord you are no longer considered mortal and are now “immortal” but this is not technically true immortal beings still have a lifespan it is just unfathomable long to us.”
Ian went on and explained all the races on Dolor and soon after Sullivan got a notification.
