The night had passed and the meat was now dry, which we stuffed into an unused bag. We were now ready to set out.
Ena and I each carried about the same amount of weight, me carrying a few kilograms more. Unfortunately, yesterday's game was too heavy to carry around, so we had to leave it here.
The map displayed the path to be around two-hundred kilometers, or more. This time, the journey would take almost a month, but that was good, in fact- It was probable that whatever happened the other day would happen in a month’s time, yet we would make it in time.
The other good thing appeared to be the terrain, the map showing it as mostly flat all of the way, with just nine rivers to cross, although that meant more crocodiles.
We decided to go along the coast for now, even if the temperature was higher, this was because of the ever annoying exaggerated amount of bushes and other plants beyond the coast.
Not even a few minutes into our walk, we both noticed a whale-tail shaped peninsula, which both Ena and I immediately recognized.
“That’s weird, it’s strikingly similar to the one back at home”, I pointed out the obvious. “What’s weirder is the fact that it doesn’t even appear on the map”
“You think that’s the weird part?”, replied Ena. “The sea level isn’t marked on the map, it just keeps going down!”
“Yeah, I also wondered about that. Maybe the sea levels here change so much that the map can’t have a concrete answer”, I jokingly said.
“You had to go ahead and say it, didn’t you?”, said Ena with a slight frown. “The gods here, if any, are probably open to feedback, you know?”
“Sure, sure. Just keep on walking”, I replied.

The walk had gone mostly uneventful for now, the most remarkable things being the numerous times of Ena complaining of me walking too fast for her to keep up.
I had slowed down to her pace after a bunch of complaints, until we were walking at about only two kilometers per hour.
“Is something wrong? You’re walking awfully slow”, I asked.
“Ah, It’s nothing. I’m just enjoying the sound of waves and the smell of salt”, she responded. “Look, it’s almost midday, let’s eat while we rest for a bit”
“You actually enjoy the beach?” At least I don’t “Sure, how about we sit in that tree’s shadow?”
After we had sat down in the shade, I took out one of the jerky bags, and started mindlessly munching away at the chewy meat. That was, until a small monkey scared the crap out of both of us by revealing itself by jumping down from the tree.

The small capuchin stared at the meat that was in my hand, then extended a hand. The monkey looked determined to get some food from us, but not in an aggressive manner, just in a curious one.
I bit into the meat, making the capuchin look slightly disappointed, so I grabbed a smaller piece from the bag, and threw it over. The monkey clumsily catched it, and looked at it for a minute before deciding to take a bite.
You could feel the critter’s happiness just by being close to it, the monkey itself looking like it was tasting the food of the gods.
“Heh, you are one funny monkey.”, I said. “I’ll name you Maka”
