Atop the nightstand sat a holographic projection station, displaying a captivating scene of two wizards engaged in combat. Two enchanted posters hung on the wall to the right: one showcased a beautiful woman who playfully winked and blew kisses in Kyson's direction, while the other featured a widely recognizable image of last year's Golden Colosseum champion, the elemental lightning-type wizard Cassian Farelock.

"I was gone for no more than two minutes!" Kyson thought to himself, astonished by the changes in the room. As he watched the poster of Cassian Farelock flexing his arms, a voice from behind caught his attention. "So, you're a Cassian fan too?" the stranger asked. Startled, Kyson spun around to face a boy standing in the doorway with a smirk on his face. Kyson repeated, slightly confused. "Ha, yeah, it's an unusual name, but I guess my parents were really hoping I'd grow up to be a badass or something, you know?" Nox joked.

"Heh, okay, I see. I'm Kyson. It's great to meet you. And to answer your previous question, yeah, I'm a huge Cassian Farelock fan. Did you see his last fight with that summoner-type wizard Selen?" Kyson asked. Nox's face lit up at the mention of the battle. "Hell yeah, I did! Cassian zoomed past all her magical creatures in an instant and delivered a lightning-fast roundhouse kick to her face! Poor woman did two backflips midair before she hit the ground. I think that was Cassian's fastest win to date!" "Well, I guess the school knew what they were doing by putting two hardcore Cassian Farelock fans in the same dorm room," Nox concluded. "Yeah, I guess they did," agreed Kyson. "By the way, how did you put your stuff away so quickly? I only left the room for a few minutes." "Oh, that?" Nox replied, bringing back his smirk. "That was magic. I'm an enhancer type for speed." "Whoa, hold on there, Kyson!" Nox interrupted. "I'm fast, but not that fast. You won't be seeing any enhancer miracles out of me, well, not yet anyway. I plan on being part of the Arcane Five!" Nox declared proudly. "Wow, the Arcane Five... that's a lofty goal," Kyson remarked. The Arcane Five was the title given to Novus University's top five magically accomplished students—the highest honor a student could hope to receive. This accolade practically guaranteed a career in the Senate or the top guilds. Most of the time, Arcane Five members were fourth-year students, but occasionally, a wizard in their third or even second year managed to achieve this prestigious title. Although all magic types had a chance of joining the Arcane Five, its members throughout the years typically consisted of wizards with magic suitable for combat. "Well, I have four years at school to make it a reality!" Nox stated confidently.

"So what your magic type Kyson" asked Nox. In answer Kyson lifted his right hand and conjured up bright flames in his palm. " elemental fire type, sweet!" said Nox. "Well not exactly" replied Kyson and in the moment that Nox was distracted , Kyson quickly put his flame engulfed hand on Nox's chest. Nox's face looked shocked and terrified at the flames touching him and he suddenly became a blur and in an instant he was across the room, away from Kyson, frantically patting his hoodie. " What the hell was that about!?" yelled Nox. Even at the sudden shock of Nox's enhancer magic, Kyson still couldn't help but burst out laughing. " HAHAHAHAHA, I am so sorry Nox! It was just a prank. Look there is no burn marks on your clothes." said Kyson still trying to catch his breathe from laughing so hard. Nox looked down at his hoodie and to his surprise his clothes (and his body) were perfectly fine.

Nox cautiously started walking towards Kyson again while still keeping an eye on the flames. Kyson put out the spell in his hand quickly. " Hey, we have orientation this afternoon right? So we have a few hours to kill, I was planning on exploring the school grounds a bit after I finish unpacking all my stuff that is" said Kyson as he looked back at his side of the room with his boxes still full with all his belongings. " Do you want to come with me?" asked Kyson. " Thanks for the offer but sorry I can't. I have to head to the registration office to do some last minute class changes but how about we met up at orientation? It at the school's colosseum right?" asked Nox. " Yeah, I'll meet you there". said Kyson.

After Nox left for the registration office and Kyson finished unpacking all his belongings, he made his way out of the dormitory building and headed to the transportation platform. As the platform began descending, Kyson still had to brace himself for the sudden movement. "This is something I'm going to have to get used to," Kyson thought. Something new caught his attention during the descent—a breathtaking view he had somehow missed before, likely due to his preoccupation with the Arcane Android's explanation about portals. From this height, Kyson could see the entire University: the incredible campus buildings surrounded by the lush greenery of the forests and the stunning, clear blue waters around the three islands. He could even see the city of Athex, located just a few miles away from the school, its lights still shining brightly this early in the morning.

Upon the platform's arrival, Kyson began to wander around the back of the campus, exploring the previously unseen parts of the university. As he was examining the main road that connected Novus University to the city, someone caught his eye, a girl so captivating, she made Kyson question everything he disbelieved about love at first sight. She was undeniably stunning. Her long, wavy blonde hair framed her heart-shaped face, and her smile struck the perfect balance between cute and intimidating. She wore a slim blue coat over a short brown dress, paired with black heels. In her hand was a light blue purse, and she was engaged in an animated conversation with her friend, who sported a witch's hat and softly petted a black cat with an unusually long tail. Kyson assumed the cat was a summoned familiar of the girl with the hat.

As he observed the cat, Kyson couldn't help but notice its large, yellow eyes, which seemed to be staring directly at him. A shiver ran down his spine as he wondered, "Why do I have this eerie feeling that this cat knows exactly what I'm thinking right now?" The two girls started to walk away and were heading towards the main campus building. " Should I say something? Maybe introduce myself as a fellow student? No way a guy like me has a chance with a girl like her. Ugh, she would probably think I'm a creep" thought Kyson as he watched them walk away. " Wait no, I promised myself that things would be different this time. I am no longer going to hide in the corner and watch life pass me by" Kyson told himself.

He then walked after the girls to say something but his mind couldn't come up with anything clever to say. As he got closer to the blonde girl, Kyson panicked and said " Hey miss?" . He mentally facepalmed himself as soon as the words left his mouth. " Did I just call another student , hey miss?" Kyson thought to himself in embarrassment. The blonde girl stopped walking and turned around to face him. " I'm sorry, but were you talking to me?" she asked a bit confused. So what is the plan now Kyson?
