The bustling life of the city was dying out as we entered, it was going to be night soon so shops were closing and the people were returning to their homes.
Skyfallow City was situated at the corner of the continent which I found odd. Even though I don't have a extensive knowledge of mortal realms, I am not ignorant. Usually the place where the Royal family resides would be nearer to the middle of the continent so they were well guarded from attacks from the neighbouring continents.
However, I quickly figured out that since the Lesser God resided here as well, if any of the neighbours were to attack they would only be going towards their doom. Although God’s and Lesser Gods cannot directly interfere and kill Mortals, they can guide them and help them to a certain extent.
Since Nissa was getting hungry and we needed a place to stay, I decided to look for someone for directions. Quickly locating a middle age woman who was closing her shop for the day I approached her.
“Excuse me, can you point me to where we could find a place to stay?”
The woman turned around to look at me and after inspecting me for a bit she answered.
“Are you looking for a cheap place or one of those fancy places?”
I thought about it for a moment, too cheap wouldn’t be good and too fancy would just attract attention. “Do you have a recommendation?”
She thought on it for a while then answered “Well there’s a pretty famous inn at the centre of the city, it’ll take you a while but it’s one of the best and most famous ones. The name is The Dragons Inn”
“Once you’re at the city square, turn left and it’ll be there, you can’t miss it”
“The Dragons Inn huh? Alright I got it, thank you” I turned around to walk away when the woman called me back.
“Since you’re obviously new here you’d easily get lost so you should probably buy a map, lucky for you I sell it at my shop for only 1 silver” she flashed me a smile.
“Oh! Thanks, that’ll be helpful, here’s the money” I said as a took it out of my bag. Her smile grew wider and she ran inside for a few seconds then came back and handed me the map. I took the map and headed towards the inn.
It took around an hour just to get to the city centre and the sun was almost completely set when we arrived at the inn.
Once we entered we were hit with the smell of freshly cooked food and the sounds of people talking. Asking for the recommendation paid off as this place was not like some of the other inns we passed where there were drunken men all around, this place was more sophisticated yet not too overly fancy.
Locating what seemed to be the service counter I approached it.
Since it was dinner time and people were flooding in, the workers were quite busy however thankfully there seemed to be someone manning the counter. The person behind was a young girl with blonde hair tied up in a ponytail loonking professional, she had blue eyes and looked to be about 18 years old. She was wearing a waitress outfit and once she saw me approach she gave me a smile and I smiled back.
“HI, I am looking for a room” I said to her but she didn’t reply and kept looking at my face at my eyes in a dreamy state, after waiting for a good minute I had enough so I brought my hand up and clicked my middle and thumb fingers together in order to get her attention however I didn’t adjust my strength correctly and the sound that came reverberated throughout the whole lobby/dining area causing everyone to look at me. However not bothering with that as the girl too was brought out of her stupor.
Her face went red but still managed to compose herself “A-ah, sorry sir, what can I help you with”
”I said I need a room with two beds” I said looking down at Nissa who was looking at other people’s food with sparkling eyes and drool coming out of her mouth.
“Yes sir, the room will cost 12 silvers a night, is that okay?”
“Yes, that’s fine” the old man was surprisingly quite rich so money wasn’t an immediate issue.
“Breakfast and dinner are included, would you like to have dinner now?”
“Yes, just give me three servings of your best dish” looking around I knew that Nissa would need two servings just to fill up, the way she swallowed her food last time.
The waitress girl looked confused at first but didn’t ask me any questions, she handed me the key to our room and I dragged Nissa to sit down at a nearby table.

While waiting for our food I was listening to the various conversations happening hoping to hear about something exciting going on in the city.
Some of the conversations were about gossips, rumours and non-interesting things however most of them were talking about some sort of event that was taking place in the day after tomorrow.
“Yeah I heard that many Warriors and Mages from all over will be coming to take part in the tournament, even the royalty will be coming!”
“Offcourse they would?! Who wouldn’t want the rewards that are being offered?”
“To think that the Royal Family prepared such a large tournament just to find a husband for the Princess”
“You ignorant fool! Don’t you even know why it is so important to find the strongest husband for the Royal Princess”
“You should at least know that the ancestor of the royal family is a Dragon. Do you really think that they would simply let a weakling be married to someone who possess the bloodline of a Dragon”
“AH! So that’s why this is such a huge event”
“Do you think that Cindrelth the Dragon herself would make an appearance?”
“Maybe, there are rumours going around that she will be there however no one knows for sure, I believe that she would as the Royal Princess is the rumoured to be the strongest and with the most potential amongst all the descendants of the Royal Family”
As the conversation died down, a couple of things were quite surprising to me. Firstly if I heard correctly the people talking had mentioned an actual Dragon not a Lesser Dragon. True Dragons though extremely powerful in both magic and bodily strength, they are quite rare and most are reclusive and usually stay amongst the monsters. In fact, most True Dragons would be found on the planets that are in the domain of the Dragon Goddess. Most True Dragons would never mingle with humans much less give their blood away.
Why do I have a feeling that this is related to the Lesser God? I will go take a look at this tournament, who knows maybe even that Lesser God will show up. Which would be quite interesting.
All in all, at least it explains the name of this Inn.
After a while the waitress brought us our food which seemed to be some type of glazed meat alongside some vegetable and bread. Thoroughly searching the meal with my power, I found out that the meat had retained some of its mana.
“What type of meat is it?” I asked the waitress
“It’s our special for the day, Hellfire Boar meat”
“I hope you enjoy it sir, now if you excuse me” said the waitress after which she left.
Turning around I saw Nissa had already finished half of her first servings and was currently working on the rest.
Looking back at what will be my first actual meal in the Mortal world, I dug in and it was magnificent. Although I have had food in the Realm of Gods, there was something about this Mortal made food that was different and indescribable. Without even knowing it, I had finished off my food and it seemed that Nissa had apparently finished hers too.
Not feeling satisfied I turned to Nissa “Hey, do you want more?” I asked to which she furiously nodded, looks like not even two servings are enough for her. Calling the waitress over I ordered another 3 servings which Nissa and I collectively devoured. After we were satisfied we went up to our room.
The room was simple with two beds at each end of the room, however it was quite luxurious from the furniture to the blanket on the bed, it even had a separate bathing room which was a pleasant surprise.
Speaking of bathing I looked at Nissa and realized that she was wearing that same old shirt I had given her earlier throughout the day, it must have been uncomfortable for her. Why hadn’t she said anything? Right, tomorrow morning I will get her some clothes.
“Nissa do you have anything you wish to do?”
“Ummm…. I would like to get something new to wear” she said while grabbing the shirt looking down and turning her body left and right.
“Hahahaha, yes I was planning on doing that first thing tomorrow, is there anything else you had in mind?”
She thought for a moment but shook her head.
Hmmm, even though I have a map, it would be best to get someone to guide us through the city. I wonder if that blonde waitress would be willing.
“Nissa I am going downstairs for a bit so you should stay here and have a bath, okay?”
“Where are you going? Can’t I come with you?” she asked with a worried look.
“Don’t worry, I won’t be leaving, I am just going downstairs to take care of something, I’ll be back soon, alright?”
“Alright….” she replied though reluctantly
I left Nissa to have a bath while I went to look for the girl.
As I came downstairs the diner area was quite full but I saw the girl was currently at the counter, standing looking alert.
When she saw me approach she tensed up a bit but still greeted me.
“Hello sir, is there something not to your liking?”
“No everything’s fine, I was just wondering if you are busy tomorrow”
“Eh? Wh…what do you mean?” her cheeks started turning bit red.
“I thought since we were knew here, maybe you could show us around, I am willing to pay if you’d like”
“A-ah…Oh…so that’s what you meant” she whispered.
“What did you think I meant?” I asked with a confuse face.
“Ah! DDDD..ont worry about it and about tomorrow I can take the day off so sure I will do it!”
“Great, then see you tomorrow and oh you should come have breakfast with us”
“Breakfast.. with you… umm yes I would be delighted too” she said smiling at me.
Smiling back at her and saying bye I went back to my room.
Nissa had finished her rather quick bath and had fallen asleep on her bed in the same shirt. Although the shirt was made by the materials only found in the Realm of Gods and would protect her from every and all attacks, it was simply way too large for her.
Scanning her with my power once again, I found nothing wrong with her except for the abnormality. It was growing, all I had to do was wait and see if it benefits her or harms her. If it does harm her I’ll contain it and destroy it.
All this time I have had my power cover Nissa in negation so nobody could find her so she hasn’t been absorbing mana but since she has taken three drops of the Divine Life Potion I gave her, she has been slowly absorbing the mana remaining from that and it has already increased her strength by at least 10 folds. Currently she most likely knows that she has gotten stronger but not by how much. It would be fun to find out.
Even though I have slumbered enough and do not need to go to sleep, I would be bored without anything to do so I reluctantly went to sleep.
