“Why did you request to meet?” asked the Overseer. All around me was the seemingly endless void, the Overseers voice seemed like it was coming from every direction. The Overseer as it is called does not have a form, it was everywhere.

“I have a request” I replied.

“What is it that you require from me?” The Overseer said in its ever so monotonous voice.

Here it is, what I had planned with the little time had when I was last summoned. I came prepared obviously as the Overseer will not allow for much if it doesn’t at least benefit it a little. Breathing deeply, I replied “I wish to stop slumbering and be permanently awakened, of course I will do my job whenever it is required of me”.

Everything was quiet for a few seconds. Bite the bait, bite the bait, come on you monotonous bastard.

“And what do you suppose I will get from this deal”

IT BIT THE BAIT, FUUUUCCCCCKKKKKK YESSSSSSSS, now all I need to do is bring it home.

“Of course, I have considered you and have come up with terms beneficial for you. Firstly, you can take my powers of teleportation, flight and all the other abilities that require you constantly focusing your powers on me which I know is straining for you” I stopped to know if this was enough.

“Continue” it replied, not declining which means it is at least considering it.

“Secondly, you can choose the major planet that I shall live on and if there are any threats deemed worthy enough to put the said planet or a large amount of mortals in danger, I shall be the one to take care of it” I replied immediately. This was what made so confident, the planets specially the major ones mean too much to the Overseer and every planet that gets damaged to certain degrees means the Overseer will get weaker.

Again, there was silence, this time it was quite a bit longer and I was getting increasing nervous to the point of sweating which by the way has never happened before. This was it, if refused I would go into slumber not knowing when I would awaken again.

“Fine I agree with your proposition, taking away your powers that I have to continuously supply means that you are able to freely roam without me having to strain myself and with the power that I gave you when I created you alongside your powerful body you will be able to do your job regardless”

As I listened to its reply I was almost in tears, I was going to get my freedom that I have always dreamed of. In this situation, normally people would thank the Gods or something but the Overseer was the one who created the Gods.

My thoughts were interrupted by that same monotonous voice. “However, if you cause too big a problem and you yourself damage the planet then you shall go back to slumber and never be given a chance like this again. Do I make myself clear?”  

I stiffened up as I heard the most casual threat ever thrown my way and I knew the Overseer was serious so I replied immediately without a thread of hesitation “Yes I understand”.

“Good are you prepared to leave now?”

“Yes, I am”. Prepared? I have been preparing this for a while, I will not take the risk of the Overseer changing its mind. 

“Alright, but before you leave I will tell you about the planet and what your task will be”

“The planet you are going to is ranked by the Gods as within the mid tier. Why I chose this planet is because out of all the planets this one has let corrupt mana fester for a long time and it has taken over an entire continent”.

I was shocked, normally whenever corrupt mana starts congregating in large portions in a single area the lesser God responsible for the planet would get the mortals to cleanse it, yet it has taken over an entire continent on a Mid tier major planet that is.

“The corrupt mana at this point should have already start taking over neighbouring continents however it has stopped due to the wielders of the corrupt mana, the so called corrupted are creating something and it will be extremely strong. Therefore, I want you to take care of it, they will be finished creating it in the next month or two per the mortal time”

Something was wrong, this type of situation is not my problem. I was summoned for worse situations, in this case the lesser God should be able to take care of it…...unless!

“Is the thing being created going to be as strong as a lesser God?” I asked. Something like this has never happened before. Even a low ranked lesser god would have a quarter of a true gods power. Yet the Overseers reply gave me the answer I needed.

“Yes, it is, how strong exactly even I cannot completely tell. However, the current lesser god won’t be able to overcome it, normally the God responsible will send a stronger lesser God but since you brought up your request you will dispose of it and your powers especially in this case is much more suitable than the Gods”

These stupid Gods and lesser Gods never tend to do there fucking jobs, one of the reasons I hate most Gods. There are only a couple that I like other than that they are all annoying and intolerable assholes. Well whatever it won’t take me long at all to get rid of the ant they are creating and cleansing the continent, afterwards I can enjoy my life.

“If you accept and understand then that is all, I will place you at a neighbouring continent where the current lesser God resides, and although it would be good to dispose of the corrupted and the thing they are creating early on, I want you to see what it is so similar incidences do not occur in the future. Now if there are no more questions then I shall teleport you”

“WAIT” I shouted. I almost forgot something very important.

“What is it?”

“I would appreciate it if this time the Gods are not made aware of my situation”. If those Gods found out I am roaming around on a planet they might send people to me to gain favours or do something stupid which they do constantly. After a few seconds and what I thought I heard was a sigh from the forever emotionless Overseer, I got my reply.

“I Accept, now is there anything else you would like?”. Eh? This time I am sure I could feel annoyance from it. Thinking not to aggravate the Overseer any longer “No I am ready” and without any further reply I was teleported.
