Chapter Ten

As soon as Sid entered the building, a large, bulky man towered over him, his eyes sizing up Sid's small frame. "young boy, what are you doing in this place?" the man asked, his voice rumbling like a thunderstorm.

"I'm here to apply for the laborer job," Sid replied, trying to stand tall despite his diminutive stature.

The man chuckled at the thought. "With that body? I'm not sure you're cut out for hard work," he said, his tone skeptical.

But Sid refused to be discouraged. "I'm very hardworking, sir. If you give me a chance, I'm sure that you will not be disappointed," he replied, his eyes filled with determination.

"Are you sure you're up for this kind of work, small boy?" he asked, eyeing Sid up and down.

Sid hesitated for a moment, feeling intimidated by the man's size and strength. But he was determined to prove himself, to show that he was capable of anything he set his mind to.

"I'm ready for the challenge, sir," he said, his voice firm and resolute.

The man's eyes softened a bit at Sid's determination, then he led Sid to the area where the laborers were working. Sid could feel the heat of the forge and the smell of smoke as he entered the building, his eyes adjusting to the dim lighting. He saw men working hard, their faces covered in sweat and grime as they lifted heavy objects and moved them to different parts of the forge.

"My name is Ben, by the way," he said with a smile.

Sid hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to make of this man who had just been trying to convince him not to take the job. But something about Ben's friendly demeanor put him at ease, and he tentatively reached out to shake his hand.

"Nice to meet you, Sir Ben, my name is Sid," he said, returning the smile.

Ben's grip was firm and strong, but not overbearing. As they shook hands, Sid felt a sense of camaraderie with this man, and he knew that he was kind.

"Listen, Sid," Ben said, his tone serious. "I'm not going to lie to you. This job is tough, and you're going to be lifting heavy things all day long. But if you're up for the challenge, I think you'll do just fine."

Sid nodded, feeling the weight of Ben's words. He knew that this was not going to be an easy job, but he was willing to do whatever it took to earn some money.

"Thank you for the advice, Sir Ben," he said, determined. "I'll do my best."

As Sid began working with Ben, he quickly realized just how heavy and demanding the job was. He spent long hours lifting heavy items and moving them around the forge. But despite the back-breaking work, he found himself enjoying the job. There was something satisfying about the physical labor, and the heat of the forge made him feel alive.

One day, as he was working, he noticed a strange, white glow emanating from one of the items that the head blacksmith was working on. It was a sword, and the glow seemed to be growing brighter with each strike of the hammer. Sid couldn't take his eyes off of it, and he felt a strange, almost otherworldly energy emanating from the weapon.

"What is that?" he asked Ben, pointing to the glowing sword.

"That's the work of magic ore," Ben replied, his face serious. "It's not something to be taken lightly."

"Magic ore, " Sid asked, this is the first time he heard about it

Ben laughed at Sid's question, realizing that he was a country bumpkin. "Magic ores is a special type of metal that has magic properties" he explained.

"Can anyone use it?" Sid asked.

"Not everyone," Ben replied. "You need to have a certain amount of talent as a blacksmith to use them properly. It takes years of training and practice to be able to fully harness the power of magic ores."

Sid nodded, taking in all of the information. It seemed like a complicated process, but he couldn't help but feel drawn to it. The idea of wielding magic seemed like something out of a dream, but Ben's words made it clear that it was something that could be attained with hard work and dedication.

"I would like to learn how to use magic ores," Sid said, his voice filled with determination.

Ben chuckled. "I like your enthusiasm, kid. But it takes years of training to master the use of magic ores. It's not something that can be learned overnight."

"I'm willing to put in the work," Sid replied, his eyes burning with fierce determination.

Ben nodded, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips. "Alright, I'll teach you what I can. But it won't be easy, and it won't be quick. Are you ready for the challenge?"

"I'm ready," Sid said, his voice filled with resolve. "I'll do whatever it takes."

As the days passed, Sid found himself becoming more and more adept at his work in the forge. He had grown taller and stronger from the constant lifting of heavy objects, and he felt a sense of pride and accomplishment in his ability to contribute to the smithy's operations.

But it wasn't just his physical strength that was improving. He had noticed that his mind was sharper, more focused, and that he was able to absorb new knowledge and skills with ease. He attributed this newfound ability to the mysterious object that he carried with him, which seemed to aid him in his sleep each night.

Despite his hard work, Sid still longed for something more, a way to truly avenge his family and become the strong, capable person he knew he could be. The idea of an enchanted weapon still lingered in his mind, and he found himself increasingly curious about the process. He knew that having a strong weapon will aid him in the future.
