The Beach:
A beach is a place where water is meeting the land. Which is weird because boss-men be using the word in all sorts of weird, boss-men ways. Like they be calling each other beaches all the time.
But we landed on a beach. Runt has talked to the other warboys. We are not sure who landed first. We are thinking that lotsa warboys who landed first died in their drop pods, in their metal boxes. Tengu saw them, and shot them before they could get out. Whiskey is saying he thinks Scrub is prolly the first warboy who got out of his box without getting shot right 'way. And Runt saw him after the this first fight on the beach we had, so this is true. But Runt cannot ax Scrub because scrub got turned to red pulp later. Maul says he saw a Tengu getting his gun up and that he would have died for sure if Scrub did not peek out from behind some trees and started covering him, which he did. Beach had lotsa trees, which was cool 'cuz we would for sure all been turned to red pulp if the trees weren't there. Whiskey shoots at the Tengu, Tengu gets hit. Scrub shoots at Tengu, hits him some more. But our bullets are small. Tengu aint dead yet. So Scrub and Whiskey together, they aim and keep shooting and after Scrub and Whiskey take turns reloading, they both keep shooting and this Tengu is so filled with bullets he stops twitchin'.
Noog says when he got got outta his metal box, he saw Drummin' man get hit in his chest and the bullets pushed him over. The same Tengu went on and hit Bane. Noog be shootin' but his bullets ain't hittin' these Tengu in the head, so Tengu turn around and shoots at Noog, but Noog gets all down in the sand, in between two trees that is all right together at the bottom so they making this little hole that Noog can shoot out of. Noog thought it was the best spot, said he felt safe in there. Drummin' man was all curled up, not even touching his gun. Metal Box lands, “BANG” and there's supa-Tee, and as soon as that metal box opens up, the Tengu just shoots him and Supa-tee was turned into two big pieces of red pulp at the bottom of his metal box.
Noog aims lower, hits this Tengu in his legs. And he shoutin' this whole time like “Drummin' Man, get up! Drummin' man, shoot him! Move Drummin' man!”
Tengu goes down, but he aint dead, so he's on the ground shooting at Noog again. Metal Box lands, goes “BANG” and there's Girly. Girly gets hit. And Drummin' Man now has seen three warboys die. And he gets his gun, and shoots. He missed, he missed bad. But the Tengu, he hits Drummin' Man again. Noog Keeps shooting. Tengu shoots at Noog. Drummin' Man picks up his gun again, and he all off to the side so the Tengu, he's all worried about which one to aim at. He shoots at Drummin' Man, misses. Noog shoots more. Drummin' Man is messing with his gun, trying to get another bullet ready to shoot, and he finally does. And then this Tengu hits Drummin man again, and has to reload. But Drummin' Man's special clothes is doing what the special clothes do. He is A-ok, and he aims his gun right this time, and he shoots the Tengu in the chest. And Drummin' mans bullet hit above the Tengu's special clothes, in the neck. And Drummin' Man's bullets is bigger. Tengu is dead right away.
Runt landed in a bunch of trees. And he shot the Tengu who was all shooting at Paco. I wrote before, Runt saw a Tengu as soon as he stepped out of his metal box, shot him lots. Tengu falls over. Looks at Runt. Runt feels sad, like he has done something wrong. Tengu looks at Runt, makes this gurgle noise, and spits some red pulp. After that he stops twitchin'. Runt cannot stop thinking about that face.
And we hear this Boomin' sound, and Runt knows this sound. Ever'body in the platoon knows the sound. Is Fury's Boom-tube. And Gratch has been talking on the radio this whole time, but I been so busy that I have not noticed. Gratch is spotting for Fury. So me & Paco run towards the Booms. Wherever Fury is shooting, that is where the Good Guys must be.
The Tengu is all on top of a big grey box. Is a building. A secure building. Got long windows to shoot out of. Is made of the gray hard rock. Warboys be told about these. But the Tengu, they are not inside, they are on top. And there be a yellow big-track with an arm and a hook parked nearby. Is made for lifting things. And there be another thing. On top of this gray building made of hard rock, the Tengu were building something. Looks like a big old Rokkit Launcher. Made to shoot the big rock-its made to blow up boats and whoosh-birds. Ain't nobody in the secured building, they are all on top. And Runt, he sees Skorch all run past him, and he runs after Skorch. I am glad Paco did not shoot to cover us. These Tengu, they was all shooting at Gratch. Gratch be down in the trees to our 1 o'clock. So they all pointing away from us. Paco was bein' smart. With ever'thing goin on, the Tengu was not watching us at all. Me & Skorch get to the yellow big-track. And we get out behind the metal big track, and start running at the grey building.

The Tengu had the shiny air around them. Is called a “Sheeld”. Be magic the Boss-men use to stop from getting hit by bullets and boom-tubes. The Shiny air is stopping Fury's Boom Tube from hitting them. And Runt knows that the Shiny Air does not stop people from walking through it. Will not stop a warboy from running up to these Tengu. And once you inside the shiny air, it don't stop anything that happens inside. Just stops the stuff outside from getting through. And this is why Skorch ran past. Skorch, he know what he's doing.
We run out from behind the Yellow Big Track. And halfway to the building, suddenly this Tengu looks right at us. Looks right at Runt. He yells, but in a Tengu way. Is not like a Boss-man's yell at all. Runt won't forget that yell. Not at all. When that Tengu looked at Runt and made that yell, was like the world was telling me “You did wrong” and it feel like the whole world coming after little Runt in that moment.
He shoots at Runt. The sounds a gun makes is so much louder when it shot at you. You think you know the sound of a gun, but you always behind it. The gun pointing away. But when somebody shooting at you, is like somebody at the big screen turns up the sound all the way. And the bullets. You don't think you can hear bullets, but you can. Is like a wip they snap to make horsies go faster. I dunno how many times the Tengu shot at Runt before he got below the grey wall they was standing on top of.
I get down behind that secure wall of grey rock. Skorch got there before me. We look back, and Paco is red pulp. Boom-ball lands in front of us. Skorch goes and does the most warboy thing. He just jumps forward, and picks up the boom-ball, 'cept his hand don't stop from picking it up. He jumps, hand goes down, hand comes up, hand keeps going up. Hand stops, boom-ball keeps goin'.... and lands behind us on the grey secure building.
