SSSHH
One of the giant monitor lizards wandered off alone. It detected a modest prey to capture in his lonesome. Its meal was a deer that lived around that zone.
SNORT
The deer sensed the danger on its own. To warn the others, it snorted to let the threat known. It bravely jumped to face the unknown. It failed. Almost all of its flesh got eaten only leaving behind the bones.
WOOMP!
In an instant, only the deer's skull was gone. In its place, a boy appeared wearing a robe almost like a gown. He also wore a sallet helmet on his crown. It covered the upper part of his head and none of his mouth.
"HUTT!"
The boy jumped at the Lizard's charge. He would land on the monster's head, looking from the arch. He pulled a sword in midair while simultaneously dodging.
It would have taken quite the effort to dodge an attack that large. But not only that, the boy whipped his sword, and the beast's head got dislodged.
His sword movement was a bit weird to watch. It was as if there were some missing frames in its march. He started the swing and then it reached its end mark. As if all the middle part of that swing got warped out.
The weirdness was a telltale of skills charged with light element. His skills came from his unique statistic, [Goddess's Chosen One].
The unknown boy was Altrius. A hero chosen to protect humanity. Even if it meant giving up his life to do it.

"It's been two years since your death."
Eric sipped his drinks while watching his stealth footage of the situation in the forest. He could only see through his knight's face. It wasn't enough, but it was all that he has.
"The world has seemed to move, finally progressing. Our story has started anew, fresh."
He chuckled a little. The thought could be that amusing. Or maybe, inside of him, the alcohol just started its process.
"Del appearance makes some mess! Haha. This town is recovering. Slowly but surely, it will forget its nightmares. The memories of your noble sacrifice will take its place...
"The demon has been gaining strength...
"Humans had gained more strength as well. Nevertheless, it feels too much like just before the last war, I guess..."
He took another sip. Then lifted some files to his face. He stared at it intensely.
[Sighting of the ghost of the late Hero Altrius.] the file expressed.
"Is this you?"
---
"Boss! What happened!?" Luas gang found themselves in the middle of the forest.
"It's those college students! They used- Huh?"
"Huh?"
Luas met face-to-face with the fat man, Du Lax. No one would know how it worked, but seeing each other faces made them relaxed. Without as much as a word, these two knew that the other was "black".
"Let us make some contracts."
"What would that contracts entails? Perhaps you need our physical backing?"
"Yes, in facts, I would like to ask for you to take my money in return for some acts."
Just like that, Du Lax and Luas joined and created the empty-headed packs. Their first move was to tax an old man.
BRUCK!
"I know you got it! Give it back!" Du Lax screamed while Luas would racks anything he could find.

"But, Young mast- The boss told me to actually give it back to the boy."
"HE'S NOT YOUNG MASTER! I AM! THIS IS WHY YOU GOT KICKED OUT FROM WORKING WITH THE DU LAX FAMILY! YOU OLD BASTARD!"
"I-I'm sorry!"
Du Lax's fist was stopped by Luas.
"Let's not be too hasty. I believe attacking old men wouldn't be good for us."
"Ah, indeed, as you said... Look, old man. These gentlemen are Eric Cyntral's fellas. They are directly working under the biggest boss who got Zele surpassed."
"I-Is that true?"
"Yes, sir. I'm afraid we were told that the necklace was stolen in a recent trespass. We are to retrieve it, and so, we are in this base."
The old man was understandably reluctant. But ignoring Eric Cyntral? He just simply can't. He handed Del's necklace to one of the men with guns. Du Lax received it and they went to get some distance.
In their words, they perfectly executed the perfect plan. Bringing Eric's name into the mix created a great run. Like that, they would use the same method to trick another man face-front.
The driver who was tasked to drive the reserve's truck. They pointed him to a random point in a map so the reserves came with an empty hunt. All of that just to fuel Du Lax's resentment.
The trick was potent. It left Du Lax and Luas's gang untouched. At least in the forest, they couldn't be touched. That was until they met [the Ecout siblings].
The three siblings were to persuade Del. But their search for him in the temporary base didn't go well. So, they asked Du Lax, the person to whom Dusk's responsibility fell.
---
"DRIVE FASTER!" The eldest of the siblings, the sister yelled.
"I-I am, ma'am!"
Du Lax Drove the car all nervous with the siblings there. Luas and his gang rode on another car on their tail.
"He sent them to hell."
"Yup, let's send our prayer."
The Ecout twins pressed their hands together. They looked exactly the same, but their moves were parallel.
BOOOM!
A big explosion had shaken the whole forest. By the magnitude of it, the sound should reach everywhere. From the sound source, a big smoke of dust rose and fell.
The Ecout sister compared the place with the map on her tablet. The sound came from right there. The place she was going, where Del was.

"Kii-"
The reserve group was fighting their hearts out with Rain and Nina watching.
"As expected for a high elf! There's no fault in her aiming!" Rain somehow knew Newl was one of the high elven.
"High elf..." Nina still left wondering about the discrepancy of the elf image she had and how Newl was looking.
Newl was covering herself using a parking pillar strengthened by her skill. She was reloading her guns.
CHCK clank clank clank
The casing of the bullet fell to the ground. Newl reached into her [Bag] pulling out a speedloader. With a little clack, the reloading finished. She did it one by one, reloading twice.
She went back into the fighting. Newl's [solidify] was making her bullets stronger. Without breaking, each bullet was going through multiple enemies. Adding Newl's innate talent for aiming, there was no wasting bullets. Each would take no less than two enemies, killing them.
BRATATATA
"DIEEEEE!"
"KIIIII!"
"Kiiii"
On the other hand, Benjie's pattern was terrifying in simplicity. He was using two machine guns. He was hip-firing both guns. It took some power, fighting back against the recoil.
The fight itself is simple. Two sides facing each other. So his approach might not be so terrifying after all.
"KIIII!"
"Hii! It came!"
"EURRAAHH!"
Burr saved Nina from a sneaking Arthros. His hulking appearance ight suggest otherwise, but he was fully controling his body.
He looks like a goblin!.
Nina could see that resemblance. From many varrying monsters, that was the one she thought was the most fitting.
---
The fight took half an hour to finish. The reserve group had claimed its wins. But they were wasted, beaten with theirlives in inches.
Four people taking on well more than a hundred enemies. Not only winning, but all of them survived was nothing beside bliss. Only two figure left standing in that abandoned building.
Del and the Arthros Hordes' queen. From her looks, the queen was a fly type it seems.
tap
Del moved first, throwing a reverse punch. One where he pulled his left leg forward while throwing his right fist. The queen took one tiny steps backward just missing the hit.
Del continued by pulling his right hand slightly. He stepped his right leg forward. With his leg side by side lining, he threw a side punch. Once again it was easily dodgable by the queen.
Pulling his right hand back, he use the momentum to first widen his hip. Flowing naturaly, the rotation turned into a left roundhouse kick. The queen sensed the danger and fly backward quickly this time.
"Good eyes."
The queen's eyes saw Del's movement and reacted it. With her many eyes, she managed to dodges all Del's hits. An elbow strike, a front kick, even the butterfly kick.
Her dodging the upperhand she had on this fight. Until she threw it away by rushing in.
She threw a jab aimed at Del's face. Except the high punch opened her side wide. Del jumping in on the opportunity, dodged to her side. he grabbed the queen from the side tight.
Lowering his stance, he did a hip throw as if the queen was light. Jumping in again, he mounted the queen for some strikes. But he quickly jump back away and slide.
The two stare each other for a while. Until they both moved on a timing tied.
"!!!" Del stopped and looked outside. "This is ruining my fun."
Silhouete of something big was standing right beside. Whatever it was, it rivaled the multistory car park in height.
"Haaaa..."
"Wait!"
Del ran into that scary sight. The others colectively sounded their concerns.
Del jumped out of the building, front flipping. His left leg was leading. His right feet accelerate as it get closer to the unknown thing. He slammed it, a flying, rotating, axe kick collided with the thing's head.
BAM!
The shock bowed the thing's head down. Del also went down following it.
After several seconds.
BOOOM!
"WAAH!"
"HANG ON! BURR THE GIRLS!"
"HIIII!"
The abandoned building collapsed.
