Del's Secretly a Wimp?

Del's Secretly a Wimp?

Three days after the stampede, the great gang leader, Luas, met once again with his partner, Du Lax. Sporting a new cybernetic arms, Du Lax was within his right to be pissed seeing Luas. But surprisingly, he was understanding.

"Friend, what happened to you!?"

"My friend, I have lost both of my arms after our last goodbyes."

"Did the lizard take them? I am sorry, my friend, but I had to take care of my subordinates."

"I understand. But no, these aren't the results of my stand against the lizards. It was the young boy who tore my arms off."

Du Lax pointed at his neck as a gesture to remind Luas of the story about Del who owns the necklace. Luas knew Du Lax was not the strongest of people out there, so some young fighter defeating him would be believable.

"What about the sister and the twins?" Those siblings looked strong even to Luas's eyes. So a kid defeating them was more unbelievable.

"He took them out too... I tell you, my friend, that boy is a monster! And that monster took my arms!"

"Don't tell me, you are still seeking revenge even after all that happened to you?" Luas grabbed the fat man's cold, cybernetic arm.

But Du Lax had to. Even if that revenge would end up incurring Del's (who he himself admitted to be way stronger) wrath. He even knew that Eric favored Del. Eric had and would take action against Du Lax's family if the fat man were to do anything against Del.

But he had to. He could stay quiet and continue working under Cyntral. Even after his family got demoted and lost a massive amount of power due to the exact mistake he was about to repeat. Or he could prove to Cyntral that Del was a fraud by defeating him.

He saw that the only value Del had in Cyntral's eyes was his strength. If he could diminish that value, he could regain the life of luxury he had growing up. The fat man would also show his half-brother, the family's disgrace, Dusk Zele, that he was better.

"I understand, my friend. If and when I get hold of something about that boy, I will give you that information, for free."

"I appreciate that."

clap! They shook their hands with such intensity that they clapped.

"Sorry! I had something to do, is it those lizards again? I kinda thought about it before but I wasn't sure. I thought you guys killed all of them?"

"..."

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

"What? What's happening, guys?"

Del arrived last at the scene to a scene of weird Lemmy and Char accompanied by Erika trying her best to hold her laughter. Del forgot about it but that was the first time the others saw him acting out of character.

"AHAHAHA!" Erika failed. "You know how long I've been waiting for this. Your faces are amazing!"

"What the hell was that!?"

"Oh... I-" Del was about to explain but got shoved by Erika who would take over the task.

"This guy is something else, you know!"

[Skills] are divided into three categories. Physical, Magical, and Spiritual. Every living being with [statistics], have a unique "energy".

Physical skills turn that energy, powering up one's physical capability. While the result is beyond normal, it cannot defy body mechanics. Some of these skills are one-shots like [punch] or [lift]. But it also can be an activation type of skill like Burr's [goblinification].

Magical skills can defy any law of physics by using one's energy. The only limitation besides the energy pool is the user's mind. With strong mind attributes like [knowledge] higher magic can be cast. But some have magical skills without ever being able to use them. Magical skill can only be a one-shot like Dusk's [friend list].

Spiritual skills also defy the law of physics, but every calculation was handled by spirits. Spirits are docile, bacteria-like beings made from pure energy. Because of that, spiritual skills can be used regardless of the user's attributes. Spiritual skills can only be an activation type like Nina's [X-burn].

Del and his master the great sage were the only exceptions when it came to skills. They both could use a skill from outside of the system. The great sage called it [spirit dance].

The theory behind it is to mimic spirits' movement, the natural movement of pure energy, so they can draw power beyond their own energy. One of the biggest key tricks to it was to make spirits love being around them.

As spirits had no ego, both the great sage and Del would also erase their ego most of the time by playing a character. Doing that ensures a large amount of diverse types of spirits to hang around them. Hence, the reason for Del's day-to-day lack of emotions.

But nothing was holding Del from getting out of the character. Once out, it took a long time and concentration to get back. And there wasn't a time for him to meditate.

---

"That was unexpected, I thought you don't have any weakness. So does that mean you are weaker now, or?"

"YEAH! Dude's power level just plummeted. Pfft." Erika answered Lemmy's question on Del's behalf.

"Wait, no I'm not!"

"C'mon, Del, we all accept you with all your quirks."

Char stepped in front of Del with a stern look on his face. He spoke with a lower and whispery tone, one he had never shown Del, he was about to ask something seriously to Del.

"Can you fight?"

"Can I fight? Can 'I' fight? Of course, I can, I am the sage, the strongest living being in this world!"

"Fine then," Char left it at that.

---

"IS THAT TRUE, MY DEAR FRIEND!?"

"Yes, I hear it with my own ears. The extermination team discussed it in the open, those fools."

Luas and his gang were going around the city when they saw Del zipping past them and decided to follow him. They entered the same family restaurant the extermination team arbitrarily chose for that day.

The team's (mostly Erika's) voice was loud enough that the whole dinner could hear what they were talking about throughout their stay.

As promised, Luas gave Du Lax his free information which Du Lax insisted to pay on.

"I thank you, friend."

"No, that was way below standard pay for information."

"No, I cannot take a cent more out of my friend. Just think about it as a discount."

"Thank you, Luas my friend. Did you hear where they were heading? I am going there with some of my men this instant."

"Seek River Street."

"Oh! What a pleasant surprise! Two birds with one stone for me. Well then, thank you, my friend."
