Gustav held his attacker’s face forcing it to look him in the eye.
“Oh, you look pretty human.”
Gustav started examining his captive. It was a very handsome male with brown skin and a pair of gem-like blue eyes.
“I’ve never seen natural blue hair before.”
The man stepped into Gustav’s stomach but he didn’t let go.
“You have scales?”
Instead, he continued to examine the man.
“No, are those blue stones embedded in your skin? Or are they some kind of sensory organ?”
The man struggled but he couldn’t get away.
“How the hell is an outsider so strong?!”
“Huh?”
Gustav’s body froze up after the man spoke.
“That wasn’t…English? But I understood what he said?… How?”
Gustav released the man causing him to fall to the ground.
“Blue man, can you understand me?”
“Who the hell are you calling Blue man?!”
“Sick!”
Gustav stooped and got up in the man’s face causing him to back away.
“I’m pretty sure I’m speaking English, yet you understood and replied with an unknown language I somehow I understood!”
Gustav’s eyes sparkled as he spoke. The man punched at him. Gustav moved his head and countered with a quick jab. The man fell on his back holding his nose.
“Ah, my bad. Reflexes.”
Gustav stood up pulling the man to his feet.
“General!”
The man looked around and saw he was surrounded by dozens of soldiers pointing weapons at him.
“Are you alright, General?”
Raphael and others approached Gustav. They had secured the person Gustav nailed to the ground after severing their legs. They had identical features to the other man.
“Yo, you guys wouldn’t believe it? This guy and I can communicate just fine despite speaking different languages! Do you think our brains became linked after we butt heads?!”
“…Seems like you’re okay. What do you want us to do with them?”
Raphael aimed his gun at the man’s head causing him to frown.
“For now, go find that guy’s legs. I want to talk to them for a bit.”
“…Okay.”
After a few minutes, the two men were sitting in a circle formed by the droids. Guns were aimed at them from every angle. The man who had lost his legs groaned in pain with Gustav’s swords still lodged in his stomach.
“Here.”
Gustav threw a pair of legs in front of the man and pulled his swords out of him.
“I think it’s safe to assume you can reattach them with your regeneration. I mean, I could so it must be the same for you.”
(He can reattach limbs?)
Everyone looked at Gustav in shock. The men laying on the ground glared at Gustav.
“What? Don’t you need them? If so, can I feed them to my youngest daughter? She has a thing for human flesh.”
“Stop spreading lies!”
Damini shouted.
“…….”
The man silently looked at his legs before attaching them to his body. A blue flame appeared at the cut. Seconds later the legs started to reattach themselves.
“The fuck?!”
This shocked everybody.
“Now, that’s insane.”
Gustav approached the man causing him to back away.

“Ah, my bad.”
He stepped back with a smile.
“Better?”
“D-Don’t get cocky, Outsider!”
The other man suddenly shouted.
“We were merely scouts! Soon the warriors will come to kill you all!”
“Warriors? You make it sound like you guys are nothing special. That kinda hurt my pride when it took so much to take you down.”
Gustav frown.
“General, should we retreat and try to find a safe place?”
Roxanne asked.
“Nah, this is their territory so it would be pointless. There’s no safe space.”
“That’s right! You’re all—”
“Alright, we’re gonna ambush these warriors and capture them.”
Gustav cut off the men.
“If they can’t be captured?”
Chul asked.
“Kill them. I want to go about this peacefully, but I don’t think it’s an option seeing how these guys acted.”
He turned to the men on the ground.
“What’re your names?”
“Why would we answer that?”
“Because thanks to you announcing that you’re nothing special, your value has dropped drastically. In other words, you’re disposable.”
Gustav pulled one of his swords again.
“If you don’t answer my questions, then I’ll test if you can reattach your heads after I cut them off.”
His green eyes were void of compassion as he looked at them.
“So, name?”
The men looked at each other and back at Gustav. The man who reattached his legs pointed at himself.
“Magnax.”
The other man pointed at himself.
“Janx.”
Gustav showed a smile.
“Hello, Janx and Magnax. My name is Gustav and these are my children.”
Gustav pointed at everyone and named them.
“Now, can you guess the reason why we came here?”
The two remained silent. Gustav answered his own question with a smile.
“We’re aware there exists ways to heal sickness and injuries our technology is unable to. Our abnormal strength is proof we’ve gotten our hands on your secret.”
“There’s no secret. We eat the food the gods have blessed us with. You guys probably did the same.”
Janx said while glaring at Gustav.
“We did, but I’m not talking about the food. I’m talking about the origin of why the creatures here are so strong. The reason why this island suddenly appeared, and the source of the fog surrounding this place.”
Gustav pointed at the island over clouds.
“I’m talking about the gods reigning over everything.”
He grinned.
“We’re here to rob them of everything they have.”
“You bastard!”
Janx and Magnax sprung up. The soldiers all moved in and aimed their weapons point blank.
“So there really are people up there who have powers?”
Gustav looked up at the island and then back at the men.
“Thanks for letting me know.”
Janx and Magnax’s eyes widened.
“You tricked us? You didn’t know…”
“I had a suspicion, you guys just confirmed it. I mean think about it, creatures that grant you superhuman abilities if you eat them and survive? An island floating above another island both surrounded by blood-colored fog? Giant creatures? Even a bird that looks like a Phoenix? This is overflowing with the supernatural. Some higher power has to be involved.”
He pointed at the island again.
“And if they exist where would those Higher Beings live? It had to be an island floating in the sky. Don’t you think?”
Janx and Magnax didn’t say anything and just glared at him. Gustav didn’t care and just kept smiling.
“Gods? Gods huh? Hahahaha!”
He burst out laughing. His laughter made the men’s skin crawl. He stopped laughing and looked at the island again.
“I wonder if there are really gods up there or just people who think they are?”
He brought his head down again and looked at them.
“?!”
They instinctively back away. Gustav’s face was stained with a savage smile and his eyes sparkled with maliciousness.
“I really want to go up there and find out.”
His voice sounded like the words of a devil planning to plunge the world into sin.
“Ah, sorry. Excuse my behavior, it’s just old habits.”
He started laughing.
“To be honest, I would prefer to get the cooperation of your people. It makes things a lot easier than randomly searching for what I want. So can you guys help me out?”
Gustav stretched his hand out.
“…….”
“…….”
“I guess that is a no.”
He pulled his hand back.
“Alright, you guys.”
He faced his soldiers.
“Stronger warriors are coming. I’m sure you’re all warmed up by now, so I don’t want to see any of you acting like rookies anymore.”
The smile dropped from his face.
“Until I say otherwise, we’re at war.”
The soldiers all saluted.
“Sir, yes sir!”
He nodded.
“You guys are just digging your own graves.”
Janx spoke up behind him.
“Just how many wars do you think we fought against you people over the years? Just how many of your armies we’ve crushed? How many times your technology couldn’t do anything against ours? Just—”
“Sorry to interrupt your speech, but I can’t help but ask.”
Gustav turned and faced Janx.
“Could it be that you’re afraid of us?”
“Wha?! Why the hell would—”
“Because instead of waiting for us to get slaughtered by your warriors, you’re trying to scare us.”
Gustav walked up to him.
“Instead of trying to get us to spare your lives, you’re more focused on convincing us to leave or surrender. It’s like you’re more afraid of us staying here than losing your life?”
Gustav grabbed him by the face.
“If you’re certain of our deaths why are you afraid?”
He looked into Janx’s eyes.
“Could it be that no warriors are coming and you guys told a lie?”
“Warriors are coming!”
“….Chul.”
“Yes, General.”
“If Janx lies again shoot Magnax in the eyes.”
“Wha?!”
“Roger.”
Chul pointed his gun at Magnax’s face.
“Now, let’s try this again.”
Gustav started squeezing Janx’s face. Janx tried to squeeze his arm but he couldn’t force Gustav to let go.
(Seriously, why is he this strong?! He’s on par with the warriors!)
Janx screamed in his head as he struggled. His anguished face reflected in Gustav’s eyes. Gustav smiled and released him. Janx fell on his bottom and looked up at Gustav.
“Janx, no warriors are coming are there? Most likely, you two underestimated us and thought you could take care of us on your own, so you never reported us. If that’s true, then we can sneak up on your people and slaughter them. I’m certain something similar happened when the first set of soldiers came here. I can imagine the hell from those days.”
Gustav pulled Janx up and showed a bright smile.
“If you don’t help us out, those days of hell will return.”
“?!”
Janx’s eyes widened. Gustav’s smile didn’t change.
“You see, the person I’m here for is too important for me to lose. As such, there’s no limit to how evil I’ll become if it’s to save her. So last chance. Help me and we’ll try to be as peaceful as possible. Stand in our way and I will drag your gods from the heavens and stain the earth with their blood….It’s your choice.”
Janx looked at Gustav, his soldiers, and then at Magnax. He gritted his teeth.
“Fine, I’ll help you.”
Gustav’s eyes brightened up.
“Great, great.”
He started patting Janx’s back.
“I’m glad I don’t have to kill you. I’m really interested in your people, so it would hurt to murder you all.”
He put his arm around Janx’s shoulder while laughing.
“Don’t worry, you guys. I’m sure we’ll come to understand each other.”
