Question 26 - If someone threatens your family, can you kill them?

“So, what happened to me, Doc?” a woman asks me with a worried face.

I put aside my rubber glove and masker while still gazing at her eyes with a grave expression as though I'm sorry about her sickness, but soon I changing it into a joyous one, “Congratulations, you are two weeks pregnant.”

After hearing my words, her serious face immediately changes into laughter and then she knocks my head, “Dammit, Vys. Why do you like teasing this old woman? This is bad for my heart.”

“Ouch, sorry auntie,” I say while rubbing my head, “Your heart is still excellent. So it’s okay.”

“What is okay again.”

“Nothing ma’am,” I answer shortly.

“That is better,” she says with a chuckle and then goes outside after saying thanks.

She is my last patient for today. She is a nice auntie from the market who often gave some free-food to mom, even before I born. So, I got close to her for as time passed, I often met her when mom brings me strolling in the market.

After she goes outside, I'm tidying this messy room because of today works. I open an ordinary-looking chest and see blue potions inside three syringes — these potions are the one that I and Yan use to pacifying our Qi forcefully. Today, I used this potion to Yan because of her request and I will use this potion to myself once again for the last time.

Dana arrives from the outside not long after. I then ask, “Is there any news?”

“Not yet,” Dana shook his heads, “what will you do?”

“For now, I will attempt another breakthrough,” I answer while still putting furniture aside.

“You,” his expression changing sour, and then asks, “Is that even safe? You just did two breakthroughs in the previous days.”

“It’s okay,” I say, try to calm him, “I already think it thoroughly, and from the calculation, it is safe for me as long I activating my bloodline.”

Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

His skepticism isn’t baseless, it is common sense for ordinary cultivators to need fixing their flaw and entrench their foundation before going to the next level. However, I different from them, there is no hidden flaw in each of my breakthrough — if there are flaws inside my body, I will sense it immediately with my enhanced perception.

Even if there flaws that I can’t see, I can fix it later based on my other research. Even though it yet complete, it just a matter of time at this rate. At the very least, I'm still in a better state than ordinary cultivators because I don't have the same mindset as them.

The problem with cultivators is they always looking ahead, rushing towards their dream. That isn’t wrong by itself, but their inability to view deeper to their bodily functions is what makes them think that flaws are inevitable. When they lose to their enemy, they will cultivate and attempts to strengthen their body — hoping that Qi will fix their flaw naturally while they cultivated.

That isn’t how a body works!

That isn’t how everything works!

You don’t walk blindly and hoping to find peerless treasure. Life is not a story — life is stranger than that. If you want to find something in the darkness, you must prepare lights. If you don’t want to get wet when raining, you must prepare an umbrella. Everything — is about knowing what you want and knowing what you need.

Written on history books that many cultivators try many techniques to jump to the next stage. Many of them die and very little of them survive, the survivor's cultivation-technique became an exclusive inheritance for their next generation and then the cycle repeats again — they use trial and error to distinguish good cultivation-technique while sacrificing many lives in the process. The better cultivation-technique became more protected by big clan while the weak ones perish over time.

People say, "that is normal" — to walks in the path of cultivations, cultivators must ready to gamble their life — to create a great clan, the clan must ready to relinquish some lives. A bloody path becomes a norm for cultivators.

That’s bullshit!

I never like to trash-talk predecessors, because we are different. They didn’t have previous world knowledge like me. However, the fact that they can prevent those deaths if they did deep research and have even a quarter of my knowledge makes me slightly angry. They glorify their death and develop their technique base on previous generation hit and miss — or from some missing technique in a cave which they call it an inheritance.

Gambling your life is just a form of ignorance. If you understand how a body works, you will know what is deadly things for a cultivator. If you understand how a body works, you will know what technique have a positive effect on the body.

If you understand how a body works, you don’t need to gamble about what will happen — because you know.

Vys: WTF, of course yes.
