“Wa, why did you bought this one,” I stutter a little after looking how similar the bracelet in my hand with the one encircle her hand.
I don’t ask about how sees my breakthrough to the eleventh level because she naturally has keen perceptions in this kind of thing. She can even see a mosquito flying from miles away in the night time from their Qi.
Nevertheless, even if she doesn't say it out, I will still tell it to her to reinforce her foundation in this Qi condensation stage. I know that it is near impossible for an ordinary cultivator to breakthrough to the eleventh level, but she is anything but ordinary -- the last time I check her body, she has the maximum amount of meridians and talent possible for cultivators.
I have many guesses how she achieved those feats, but — if she doesn’t want to tell the story, I won’t force her to open her mouth.
After seeing my reaction, she’s giggling with an amused face then put her index finger to her lips and says “That’s a secret. Maybe because our string of fate intertwined with each other.”
Looking at her playful act, I finally regain my calmness, “It’s just a coincidence, right? I mean — you earlier want this bracelet and bought it for yourself. However, I give you the similar one as a gift, therefore you decide to give it to me.”
“Geez, you aren’t funny at all, can’t you even play along,” she says while pouting and slightly dejected pose, it seems my guess is right.
“-upid,” her small voice reach my ear.
“Are you saying something?”
“No~thing, c’mon Rin,” Yan grab Rin’s hand while walking towards their room to sleep together.
I realize that night already late when I see Rin sleepy appearance, so I stroll towards my room — prepare for another work again tomorrow.

…
Streaks of yellow light from the sun peeping through the curtain, directly shine Yan’s eyelids — forcing her to awake from her baby sleep. She rises from her bed looking at Rin still sleep next to her — hugging her arm. When she looks at this adorable creature, she let out a little smile. After opening the window of their room, she wakes her up too.
“Uuu, is it morning already,” Rin rub her eyes still feel drowsy.
“C’mon, don't stay in bed, even Vys already go to works. Let’s wash our face," Yan extending her arm for Rin to hold on.
“Oka~y.”
Rin’s taking Yan’s hand while still in a slumberous state, they go to the bathroom to wash their face together. While walking towards the bathroom, Rin sometimes stumbles, because of the gap between the wooden floor but Yan can keep her save easily.
After they finished to wash their face, they go to the dining room and find out that there some dishes from last night — it warmed by Vys this morning. There’s a yellow note stuck to a plate that says they don’t need to wait for Vys because he already goes to work.
“Geez, Vys,” she says and then let out a small smile after feeling the heat from the dishes.
Yan and Rin sit down together in the dining table made out wood. There just two of them here, remind her about their past. Lost in the stygian night between the loud roar of lightning, a rainfall wash her bedraggled self and a baby in she carried — a man, no, a gray-haired boy extend his arm to her.
Like a rope pull me out from a chasm, like an island in the vast ocean, like a sun that shines in the abyss, that small hand what saves her from darkness in her heart when every hope is gone.
That is a bittersweet memory, but what important is she is here — in this tranquil place, passing their peaceful life. Maybe she couldn’t ever repay this kindness, but she swears that she will protect this family — a lifetime promise that won’t be broken by anything.
“What are you thinking, big sis?” Rin says when looking at her still daydreaming even after her plate is clean.
“No~thing,” she says playfully, “Is there something more important thing that you forgot.”
“Geez, big sis, I never forgot about that,” Rin says with an adorable pout.
Looking at her expression, Yan’s lips become a smile, “Let’s do it then.”
They put their hand together and says, "Thank you for the meal."
Even after how many times she did it, it still makes her heart warms. This is the warmth of family, people always seek power to stand above others, but sometimes forgot many little things that make their life worth living.
For her, the loved ones and the people around her that make it worth living — Vys, Rin, Mother, each one of them is the moon that shines her night and the shade in her torrid summer — an irreplaceable existence in her life.
