Furyo Matsuno is a hoodlum and despite serving more than 12 years in California prison, instead of going home he is deported to Japan. His instincts and criminal mentality get him in trouble with both the Yakuza and Police. Finding out Japan's polite surface does not mean vulnerable or defenseless. Furyo is killed for his disrespect and awakens in a world of Evil Spirits, Demons and Yokai. His only saving grace is having impressed a Hell Priest from a sect of Buddhist Exorcists with acts of compassion towards stray animals. It is yet to be seen if Furyo can overcome his gangsterish ways to return to the world of the living and guide lost souls back into the light. All of this is set to the music and lost coolness of the 1990's Generation X. Based on my real life experience living in Shibuya and walking into the harsh realities of street life like a Yakuza fanboy with no self preservation instinct, with out knowing a word of the language and having a deported wife who wasnt sure she wanted to base her life around a hoodlum with scars on his face and wounds in his soul.
