A man, armed with a sword, was standing in front of a wizard that looked to be part wolf.
"This will be the last day you'll be alive, filthy beastman." The man said, not putting any emotion behind his insult.
"Mizuya... You should know by now that you'll never be able to defeat me. As much as I despise you, I also pity you." The demihuman said.
"I don't need pity from a mutt."
"Enough! I am going to send you somewhere else so you can rethink your little vendetta." The wizard exclaimed, pointing their staff towards Mizuya and releasing a sphere of magical energy towards the human.
A hole in the fabric of reality itself suddenly opened, and out of it, and Mizuya was launched, falling to the ground as if a trapdoor had suddenly been opened under him.
"Stupid Portal user." The young man cursed as he slowly stood up. He looked around himself, and by this time, the hole in reality had already been closed, so he saw nothing but a wasteland.
The gray coasts, the soil covered in a layer of ash and sparsely populated by vegetation, and the dark gray skies... All these factors made him come to a conclusion: He was in Hell.
Now accepting his assumption as the truth, the man walked along the ashen coast, searching for demons to kill, as he guessed he still had his swords with him for a reason.
After walking for a few minutes, he spotted a wild boar, about as large as a polar bear, with tusks that seemed to be razor sharp, munching on some of the occasional grass that grew in the wasteland. This wasn't what he expected a demon to look like, but then again, he had expected Hell to be endless fields of burning brimstone and those expectations were also proven wrong.
Mizuya drew one of his swords, which seemed to just be a normal katana, hoping to get a sneak attack on the demon, but he was startled to see it charging towards him! He barely managed to avoid being impaled by the tusks by moving to the side. There was now a large tear on his kimono, but no injuries to his body.
He hastily turned around, seeing that the boar was preparing to charge towards him once more... The swordsman slashed at the air, and from his blade came a crescent made out of frozen blood, which spun as it made its way towards the animal.
The boar's left eye was blinded and bleeding, but the boar quickly rubbed its face on the ashy soil, which didn't do much in terms of healing, but it stopped the bleeding rather effectively. After doing this, the boar began to charge towards Mizuya once more.
Thinking quickly, Mizuya crouched to get a better angle, before thrusting his sword forward towards the demon once it was close enough, aiming through the ribs to try and hit the heart, or at least something vital.
He had succeeded in delivering a fatal blow to the boar, though the momentum and the weight caused him to be knocked to the ground, and the tusks had also reached him, leaving him with a gash from his chest to his shoulder area.

Despite all this, he had managed to push the boar off himself, as he laid on the ground, trying to catch his breath, not really worrying about his own bleeding too much. After a few minutes, he stood and retrieved his sword as it had been lodged in the dead animal.
Seeing how the boar had stopped its bleeding before, Mizuya patted his wound with the ash from the ground. It stung like hell, but sure enough, his bleeding had stopped. He made a mental note of this, as it could come in handy in the future.
After collecting his thoughts, Mizuya left the animal behind, not being desperate enough to eat what he thought was demon meat, before continuing his journey down the coast.
...
Further down the coast, a similar scene.
Another hole has opened in reality, and another young man, Javi, fell through, falling on his butt. He stood up, and took a look around.
"Where the fuck am I?" was the first sentence to leave his mouth, before he sat back down again. In a rare moment of logical thinking, Javi realized that if anyone was going to rescue him, they would likely look in the place he first appeared, so it was best to just stay there and wait.
Mizuya was watching this scene from a distance, and since this was the first time he had seen a human in this weird place, he began walking towards Javi.
Javi looked surprised to see Mizuya, as he had not sensed the man approaching, even though he had trained himself well at detecting magic signatures.
Mizuya raised his head slightly so that he could maintain eye contact, before speaking. "Is someone coming to get you out of here?" he asked.
Javi hesitated for a moment, trying to restrain his urge to beat random people up as much as he could. "Yeah. I wouldn't be sitting in a field like an idiot otherwise." Javi answered.
Mizuya figured that he would lose nothing by telling the stranger about his plight. "In that case, please take me with you; I'm also stranded out here."
Javi looked at the man in front of him, sizing him up. "Fight me and we have a deal." Javi got into an unarmed fighting stance, eager to fight someone that could actually fight back.
...
After a few minutes of exchanging blows, both the men were battered and bruised, but they were still standing. Javi smirked. "I'm going all out now!" he said, before his whole body gained a faint yellow aura, especially his fists.
Mizuya seemed a bit distracted looking at Javi's aura, and this moment of distraction would prove to be his downfall, as the other man hit him with a powerful uppercut, knocking him out cold.
"That was fun!" Javi said to the unconscious man as he went to check his pulse. Once he made sure Mizuya was still alive, he put a hand on Mizuya's forehead, transferring some of his own aura to the other man, causing him to wake up nearly instantly.
"You didn't tell me we could use magic." Mizuya complained before standing up. His complaint seemed to intrigue Javi, and so Mizuya decided to make a demonstration.
From Mizuya's shadow rose a shadowy figure, like a 3D silhouette of himself. "This is my..." Mizuya hesitated for a moment, before continuing. "... magic ability, Phantom. It's half as strong as me, so I just called it Nizuya." Mizuya explained.
"Nizuya... Mizuya..." Javi repeated the two names for a while, but he gave up eventually. "I don't get it."
"My name's Mizuya. So, half of me is Nizuya."
"Oh! Haha, I see..." Javi said, still not understanding the joke.
"Whatever. What about you?"
"It's Solar. It lets me make myself stronger, and it can also heal others, using solar energy." Javi explained.
"Nice to meet you, Solar. What’s the name of your magic ability?"
Javi looked at Mizuya, kind of taken aback. At this point, both the men thought the other was an idiot. "No, my name's Javi, Solar is the name of my ability."
"Oh."
After this terrible interaction, Javi and Mizuya proceeded to wait in silence for the next five hours.
