I felt something wet on my face, and when I opened my eyes, I saw a white fluff licking me.
"Hahaha, stop it!" I said, laughing as I gently pushed her aside.
"Howl," she responded, looking very happy.
It's true!
[Observer's Eye]. I tried to check my information, but nothing appeared.
It's a shame the usage time is over. But, although I didn't get much information, there was something interesting. I have a great talent with aura, which is natural in the Wolsk lineage.
Remembering how aura works, my good mood diminished. Knowing I have talent with aura is useless right now. The youngest person to awaken it was 19 years old, and it awakens naturally.
At this moment, the only thing I can do to get stronger is train.
Now that I think about it, there's also that coreless energy linked to our bloodline, but it can only be acquired with a perfect awakening rank, which I don't have.
I remembered something and looked at my halberd, placed in a corner of the room.
I walked over to the halberd and held it, it's still quite heavy. Maybe I should name it.
"I'll call you Red Guillotine." I'm great at thinking up names.
Huh? Did it get much lighter? Now it's easier to hold, this is great, I won't have so much trouble using it.
Wait a minute, what if I try hunting monsters with Red Guillotine? That energy is supposed to grow by hunting non-humanoid beings stronger than the user. Right now, I'm so weak that almost anything I kill would be considered almost as strong as me or stronger.
But how do I explain that I have to kill other creatures to make my Red Guillotine stronger? If I ask for permission to hunt, would they let me?
It's annoying to think about all these things.
Knock, knock.
Someone was knocking on the door, and when I opened it, I found Marcy and some other servants along with my cousins.
"Good morning, young Lord," the servants said with a small bow. My cousins simply greeted me.
"Good morning, may I know what you all are doing here?" I asked about the sudden arrival of this crowd.
"The Lord and his relatives said it would be good for everyone to play together and get to know each other better. But first, you should explore the castle and its surroundings, and they assigned you as their guide," Marcy explained.
This narrative has been purloined without the author's approval. Report any appearances on Amazon.
Now I've become a babysitter? I looked at my cousins and remembered we're all about the same age. "Alright, just give me a moment to change my clothes," I said, closing the door.
I quickly got dressed and opened the door again. Almost all the servants had left, except Marcy.
"Marcy, can you take Arctic Sky to the garden?"
"Of course, young Lord." Marcy seemed a bit sad, but it's better if we're alone for a while.
"Let's explore the castle. Do you want to go anywhere in particular first?" I said, trying to sound cheerful.
Crin, with his usual energy, was the first to respond "Dad told me the castle has many places where knights trained!"
Melody, with her refined demeanor, nodded softly. "I'm eager to see the library. I've heard it has many ancient books."
"I'm happy just exploring all the places in the castle," Alian said with a mischievous smile.
Cerlia, shy but curious, asked in a low voice, "Can we go to the garden? Mom said there are many animals."
"Yes, the garden, or I should say forest, is where the wolves sometimes roam. We can go there afterwards," I responded, encouraging her.
We headed to the library first, fulfilling Melody's wish. Her eyes lit up at the sight of the shelves filled with books. "It's... it's wonderful," she whispered, approaching the books.
"I'm glad to know someone so young loves books," we heard a voice say. We looked in that direction and saw Stoker.
"Who are you?" Melody asked.
"I'm the librarian, a pleasure to meet the young Wolsk."
"Young lady, is there any book in particular you're interested in? If you'd like, you can borrow it."
"Really?" Melody seemed very excited.
"Yes, but you must make sure to return them after a while, otherwise, there's no problem."
"Are there books on medicinal plants, monsters, potions, and magical artifacts?" Melody asked.
"I suppose you're still a member of the Wolsk family. Wait, I'll go fetch some fundamental and easy-to-understand ones," he said, quickly selecting books. How can he pick them so fast despite the library's size? Could he have memorized the titles of every book?
"Here, what do you think?" Stoker asked Melody.
I glanced over one of the books [Very Basic Medicinal Plants: For People Who Can't Even Tell a Plant from Weeds].
"It's fantastic," Melody seemed very happy.
"Stoker, I've already read the information I wanted. Can you give me books on aura, guides to hunting monsters from weakest to strongest, and explaining their weak points, theology?"
Stoker looked at me strangely and said, "I won't ask why the young Lord wants those books, but I am curious to know what kind of theology you mean."
"I don't know, just some books that give brief and general information about the gods that exist and why they are worshipped. I'm not interested in doctrines." His expression relaxed.
"Well, I'll select some books on the topics you requested and a book on the different religions on the continent."
"Thank you very much, now we're on a tour, so later we'll ask the servants to come and pick them up."
Crin, unlike Melody, didn't seem very interested in the books. "Can we go somewhere more fun?" he asked.
"I'll show you important parts of the castle so we can then go to the training grounds," I responded.
"Alright, but don't make it too boring," Crin said with a smile.
We headed to the armory, catching everyone's attention. "Look at these weapons!" Alian exclaimed, admiring a longsword.
"Wow! This axe is cool!" Crin said, pointing at an axe on the wall.
"This room is impressive," Melody commented, though her interest was less.
I showed them other places like the kitchen, the general storage, the party hall, a cellar, the audience hall, the servants' quarters, the guards' room, and finally, a gallery with ancient objects on display. I don't think they have anything special besides being old, because I doubt Father wouldn't ask a mage or scholar to check if they are artifacts or relics. Maybe one day I should use my bloodline skill to analyze them. Maybe I'll find a treasure and ask Father to give it to me.
