EXCERPT 1-4: SKILL CARDS

Skills are a major part of Fortuna Sands, as they come in a variety of sets there are numerous and often hard to categories. However, when a skill is acquired it can be traded or sold by converting it into a skill card, at a designated facility known as a Card Reader. However, before cashing out the monetary value of your skill it is important to remember that cards have a ranking and can be upgraded into a new rank known as minor and major.

A minor skill is any skill from level 1-4 and, and estimated as retail at about $G 1,000 to G$ 100,000 ($1 to $100). As the level increases so does the number of KP used to activate, but can determine a different game of fate that can resemble games like Blackjack, Three Card Poker, and Mississippi Stud with various variations that require additional Luck or G$ to alter strategy. More importantly, a minor skill will only use cards marked Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 2 Jokers, excluding any face cards from the challenge. Also limited combinations that may affect the outcome greatly when needed.

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

A minor skill uses all Cards, including Jack, King, Queen and Jack and is only available for Level 5 and 7 skills. These games are based on variations of Texas Hold Em’, Pai Gow Poker and 7 Card Stud, but have a better outcome than any minor skills. When a minor skill challenge is won, there is a 30 percent chance of either gaining a small amount of G$, KP, or LP, and a 10 percent chance of an item. However, when a 5 card hand is played and won again a Challenge, if the player wins certain hands can multiply the reward without the use of the Lucky Streak. These card outcomes must be better than a Straight, and no higher than 5 of Kind, made possible by a Joker or other Wild Cards in play.

Whatever skills you receive, remember there are many ways to gain them. You can learn them by gaining favor from NPCS or win them by chance in duels for a 1 in 1000 percent chance of learning it upon success. Whatever, the case when you have a skill just succeeding is only half the strategy. The second part is to know what to do when you have a successful action that is set in motion.
