When competing in a game of luck and skill it sometimes hard to tell one from the other. Whether it is by design or glitch, the system may reward a player in the most unlikely of ways. Whether it’s a contest of skill or happenstance, there is always a way to redefine luck as you delve deeper into the world of Fortuna Sands.
For example, when a player accomplishes more LP damage to an opponent that is necessary it is called Lucky Strike. This only occurs when fighting the Cursed of Blessed NPCs when exceeding them in a challenge beyond the required LP damage. Normally meeting a challenge results in a random prize generated, but Lucky strike guarantees the best possible prize. If the Luck Strike exceeds twice or even three times, all prizes will be distributed all at once.
Lucky Breaks occur when purifying cursed items which normally require G$ to achieve either through skill or through an authorized fountain. When a player does not have enough G$ to break a curse, the system may siphon what little G$ to break a curse instead. It is not sure how much or how little G$ is needed but reports vary on the amount needed, but it’s not always guaranteed. While the fountains can appear and disappear at random locations, a skilled Curse Breaker can achieve this same effect.

When a player gains more resources than anticipated they are only a Lucky Streak, that means they can earn anywhere between 2 to 10 times normal amount of LP, KP, or G$ in a challenge. Much like a lucky strike, this effect can only be achieved through cursed or blessed challenges, but in special circumstances players may be effective. This special kind of circumstance can only be initiated when both parties agree. Playing with the chance of Lucky Streak is as it is a reward, remember that FS does not encourage such behavior to unfold unless you are absolutely certain of the risks involved.
While the name has various meanings in culture, when you achieve absolute favor with an NPC you are known as a Lucky Dog. Since the variety of NPCs is wide and perimeters near infinite, even getting the absolute favor of one or more NPCs is considered a skill. When you have this favor you have absolute devotion, so much that they would follow your orders like a loyal dog on a leash.
Some say there really are spirits within the game itself. Fortuna Sands creators will neither confirm nor deny these allegations. However, they encourage players to have fun and if there are spirits watching it’s important to remember that much like real life anything can happen when you least expect it.
