I wake up to a pile of fluff in my face.
It seems that the wolf decided to sit on me while I slept.
After shoving it off, I get up and look at whats left of the fire.
Thankfully, it's only embers, as I recall that one bear advertisement for forest fires, but not the name. If I’m not mistaken, it had something to do with smoke…
Well, regardless, I dispersed the embers, and was about to head out when I turned around to see the wolf, fully awake, staring at me.
I look at him and ask, "Do you want to come along too?"
He shook his head no, as if he understood.
Even more intrigued, I continue, "Then where would you like to go?"
The wolf looks to the left of us, looks back at me, then walks off.
Realizing there might be something more to this than just a stubborn wolf, I quickly catch up to him, but then the wolf gets faster. The cycle repeats until I am basically running at top speed, chasing a wild wolf.
It feels like hours that I spend chasing him, thankfully without passing out from heat stroke or anything, and then he suddenly stops. I catch up to him and collapse on my knees.
"Wha- t were you do- ing runn- ing like tha-t." I feel like I could hurl again, but thankfully nothing is in my stomach. I take a minute, and look up. What I'm seeing is truly breathtaking, or was once.
It was a temple, no bigger than a few houses, with a stone statue of a goddess on the outside.
Although I am familiar with most of the games' goddesses, I have never seen this one before.

It was a depiction of a lady, cloaked in a fully concealed robe, with her head pointing towards the sky. With a lantern in one hand, fully outstretched in front of her, and a book in the other.
I find some text below the statue, and I am clueless as to what it means, but only for a second until some sort of auto translator kicks in.
"May all that walk the path of righteousness sing her name. May all who seek justice have her on their side. May all who create do so in her image."
‘Well, that's certainly a religious verse if I ever saw one…’
I apparently got distracted by the statue for too long, and the wolf barked. I turn to see him waiting at the entrance of the temple, in front of two oak doors that are slightly ajar. He looks at me and walks in, and I quickly follow him.
I rush up the steps, and into the temple, where I hear a voice resonate in my head: "Hello, Alexander."
After looking up, I see the goddess from the statue, but she is alive and moving.
As if the world were an illusion, my surroundings faded until nothing but the galaxy surrounded us, with the stars of the cosmos and multiple constellations shining brighter than others.
"Welcome, my child." The goddess stares at me with a hint of joy on her face. "I have been waiting for you for a number of years."
"What... is this place?" I turn around to see nothing but the vast cosmos.
"It is my domain, or at least what's left of it." The goddess replied, sadness seeping into her tone.
"I have been asleep for many years, but through my minimal consciousness, I was able to summon you and guide you here."
"Were you the wolf? Why did you attack me to begin with?"
"Because I took control of the wolf, rather than ‘being’ the wolf, as you say. Regardless, now that you are here, I hope that you may be able to help me."
"Why would you need help from me? Aren’t you an almighty goddess?"
"Gods and goddesses have strength based on their followers, so since I no longer have believers in any world, I can’t maintain my strength or even my domain for very long."
As she finishes, the world around her shakes.
"I had less energy than I thought. Regardless, I will now pass down my gift, my legacy, to you, and I hope it may serve you well. All I ask is that you spread my name so that I can awaken from my slumber. Also-" Her figure starts to fade: "60 Days! Your people will come in 60 da-" That's all she manages to get out until her figure disappears completely and the domain goes back to normal, and I get thrown back into the church. I look up to find the statue of the same goddess, staring back at me.
I look down to see the wolf, which is lying on its back with foam in its mouth.
