Before there was light, there was darkness.
With the lack of senses, there was only darkness around me, for I was floating in darkness.
Time felt endless, and with lack of any perspective, or point of reference.
I seem to have some remembrance of who I am, but what of my name, I am unsure.
All I have, are some flashes of memories.
Something that I find important perhaps?
Something that might hold a physical value or left an emotional imprint?
For now I am unsure.
All I know is that as I exist, the memories fade deeper and deeper into the void, but then the void seems to ripple, as if searching for something.
The rippling gets faster and faster, and memories of mine seem to clear. I start tumbling out, and one memory sticks to me the fastest, my name. The name I have to long since forgotten.
…
I open my eyes, to some sort of stone structure, with me staring at a ceiling spiraling infinitely upward.
As my body wakes up from what felt like light years of sleep, I blink, and blink again.
My body slowly starts responding, and I twitch at first my fingers, then my hands, then eventually I could raise my arms.
I tried to roll sideways and it felt as if my body weighed hundreds of tons, but slowly becoming lighter.
This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author's work.
I managed to turn myself sideways, and saw I was sitting on some sort of altar, or burial chamber.
There were steps leading down towards a lower platform, with me laying on some sort of stone altar, candles lit around me.
The lower platform is lit by a few candles on the floor, but mostly lit by glowing panels in the walls.
The platform, held hundreds of dead bodies. Both from the churches of the seven divines and from the largest cult In the continent, The Children of the One.
‘Why do I recognize them? Do I have an affiliation with them? What is t-’
Just as I was pondering where that information came from, a flood of knowledge came back to me.
As if I tapped on the dam one too many times, information poured out like a tidal wave.
Waves after waves of memories hit me one by one.
I first remembered my middle school, then high school, then my first girlfriend, then my first business, then my career, then my game I made, it all came flooding back.
‘What… What was that, and why am I in a location from my game?! Is this real, what happened to me..” as I exclaimed that in panic, the memory of my death popped into my mind.
The fruits of my labor, I could never see. My game, which I spent my life investing into, and watching my friends and family criticize, I could never see what it could achieve.
‘At least I can now experience it for myself. I should be able to live a good life here, as long as there hasn’t been any major twists in the story I wrote, it shouldn’t be hard to enjoy my time here!’ I quickly got excited, pondering over what I could achieve. I quickly summoned the interface of my character, excited to see what my starting ability was.
An unexpected situation occurred.

‘What… what is this. This is absolutely not the interface I designed, and why am I an administrator? I never made administrator ranks!’
I forcefully took a breath, unknowing if due to my lungs having not been used for a long time, or some sort of skill or similar enchantment on me.
Quickly deciding to get a better vantage point from the stone alter I was laying on, I quickly got up and walked down the hundreds of steps, leading into the platform.
