Chapter 3 - New World, New Discoveries

Chapter 3 - New World, New Discoveries

- Location: Plains, Northeast Velu, Human Kingdom of Tria -

Under the Twin Moons, in the Meli Plains, not a sound can be heard aside from the creatures of the night. The hoots of an Owl and the chirps of crickets span the vast grassy expanse. This peaceful night is one where all who witness it would last for all the days. That is until a certain Divine Guardian decided to ruin the picturesque moment by choosing to descend at that moment.

**************************

In the distance, about 40km from the Descending Dragon in a small Palace to the North, a beautiful young woman with silky violet hair and eyes the color of the sunset is sitting on her balcony with another, older but not any less beautiful woman. These two women are watching the beautiful night starscape while the older one brushed the youngers hair.

"Mom, I don't want to marry some disgusting Prince"

"Sweetheart, you know it doesn't matter. For one, we need this marriage to secure the alliance between our kingdom and theirs. You're a Princess, my love, it's kind of in the job description."

"I know but what about love? What about being with someone I want to be with?!"

"Honey look, I'll tell you what, if you can find someone with more influence than a PRINCE and you fall in love then yo-"

While trying to get her daughter to understand her part of the bigger picture, the woman is interrupted by a bright blue flash to the south. The flash subsided but was replaced by a bright blue pillar of light topped by a dragon with its maw agape and its wings flared as it let out a mana infused roar. Confused, the mother and daughter both stare in shock as the event unfolded. Both women immediately stood up and ran to the Throne Room where the King was holding a late night session of court. The two burst through the doors just in time to see a messenger burst through the opposite doors. The messenger looked haggard and covered in sweat. In between gasps for air to fill his uncooperative lungs, the messenger relayed his message.

"Your Majesty! A message from the Mage's Association. They say the strange phenomena was called Heaven's Descent!"

"Boy, relax. Take some time to catch your breathe and explain it to me plainly"

"Y-Yes your majesty...The Mage's have discovered that the event to the South is known as Heaven's Descent. This hasn't occurred in over fifty thousand years and only happens when a Divine Being comes down onto our plane of existence."

The King, Queen, and Princess all look at the man, trying to get over the news they just heard. If there was a Divine Being in the land then that could mean several things. Some good and some bad, only a few time will be able to tell. Hopefully though, whoever it is, will give them the opportunity to show which it is. In the meantime, the King decided to give the Being a little help and hope and prayed that they'd be someone worth meeting.

"Very well, may it be known that we will try to meet this Being if they deem us worthy of a visit. Guard!" A Royal Guardsman rushed to his lieges side and eagerly awaited his order.

"Yes, your Majesty!"

"Send word to light the Beacons of Hope, let's see if we can have ourselves a Divine Visitor"

The Guard rushed off to their orders while the Royal family and court turn back to their session and continue with their discussion on how to save their Kingdom.

Arcilion woke to being surrounded completely in blue light while suspended in the air. Trying his best not to freak out about the whole, surrounded in light and floating two-hundred feet in the air, he began to take account of his surroundings. He was landing in a plain with flatland with no slopes. It was night, and there didn't seem to be any other humanoids around. He descended at a controlled rate with his arms spread. After about five minutes of controlled falling, he finally lands in the plain. Gathering his wits quickly, he checks his equipment and notices himself garbed in bright white armor resembling the kind he wore back in the Marines except this felt a little heavier and a bit like form-fitting flexible metal instead of the nano-fiber one he used to wear. His armor was trimmed with azure coloring around the shoulders, leading down through the center of the chest piece. On the left chest piece he had a shield being held by an azure dragon with its maw open and wings unfurled, not unlike the one holding the pillar of light. He takes a quick look around him to see if he was left with anything other than just his armor but doesn't see anything else. A thought pops into his head and he remembers being told this was was a Fantasy-style game world where everything was essentially the same as Role-Playing Games from his previous life were. With this in mind he tries to go through several commands that used to work, however only one of them works and what he gets from it only serves to prove that everything so far really hasn't been a dream.

Stolen novel; please report.

'Well, I can see why the Gods don't like having to many Godlings down here if these are our stats. Thankfully I'm the only one down here right now otherwise this world might end up with more craters than the moon. As expected, all of the extra skills related to Magic, Weapons, and the different trades have all been combined into one for each. Thank Go..No wait, thank me for that? I don't know, what I do know is that I don't have to waste my time looking through a million different skills to find what I want. Woo! Let's take a look at some of these abilities though.'

Soul Armor Armor forged by a persons soul, can be altered to fit any appearance thought of by it's wearer. Will never break unless the wearer's soul is shattered and cannot be worn by anyone other than the one who soul-forged it. Any piece of this armor can be equipped or removed at any time by the wearer.

'Oho nice, so pretty much an armor that will make this place pretty much boring and without challenge if I continue wearing it. Guess I'll have to find something to replace it and only use this during my official duties, though it does look amazing. Let's keep looking though.'

Rift Storage A storage area unique to one who comes from the Rift between Universes. Access to the User's own rift is granted through a medium that only the User can use. This particular medium has been grafted onto the Users skin to make it so that they may never lose access.

God's Eye Give the User the ability to see anyone's status screen no matter their level or any status concealing artifacts they may be wearing.

Transformation (3 Stages)

This ability allows the User to perform the three stages of transformation for their respective race. (Divine Dragon)

1st Stage: Human Appearance, almost undetectable to all forms of inspection.

2nd Stage: Humanoid Appearance with some Draconic features including, Horns, Tail, Wings, Claws (Allows for individual features to be shown at any time)

3rd Stage: Full Draconic Appearance, User appears as a Full Dragon with a height of 60 meters and a length of 300 meters

Guardian's Domain While activated, the User is in complete control of everything that happens within a 5-mile radius. Adds an additional x5 to Defence and Attack for all allies within the area. Can only last for 30 minutes.

Guardian's Wrath Any who fall to this ability relinquish their soul to be forever imprisoned in the lower realms. Adds +500 to all stats to the Guardian.

'My word these abilities are amazing. I can't wait to actually start using these. I'll have to find a secluded place so I can start playing around. First, though, I'll need to find some civilization so I can let the nearest Kingdom know I'm around and to get them to spread the word.'

Willing his armor off of him, Arcilion notices light blue markings all around his body. These tattoos must be the medium that the Rift Storage ability was talking about. Thinking this, he concentrates on the marking and finds himself in a vast area not unlike where he is now. In it, he finds a large building similar to a building in the ancient eastern area of Terra. Within, the building was separated into a multitude of areas, one for Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Enchanting, Armory, and a Wardrobe. Walking through the vast rows of Sakura trees leading to the entrance, Arc couldn't help but admire the beauty of the whole area. This wasn't anything like the rift he was stuck in when he was between Universes. Walking into the building, he made his way over to the area marked 'Armory' to grab himself a good set of armor to swap out with his Soul Armor. Looking through, he found himself standing in front of a set of armor that's almost identical to his soul armor. In fact, if one didn't know any better, they'd assume he never switched out of his armor. With that, he decided on that armor as it fit his tastes at this moment. Whilst here, he also decided he'd grab himself a weapon he could use. Walking to the weapons section, he can't help but stare with his mouth agape. Never before has he seen such an amazing collection of weaponry in his life. To his left were rows and rows of all types of bladed weapons ranging from regular swords to daggers, on the right was all different versions of polearms from spears to naginatas. Towards the back of course was the ranged weapons. Thinking for a moment, he walks over to the right and after a few moments, grabs a white steel spear about 2 meters in length, the tip is about 6 inches long and made out of Orichalcum. Walking to the left side of the Armory, he grabs a small foot long white steel dagger and straps it to the small of his back which will allow him to access it quickly if needed.  With this, Arc is finally all set and decides it's time to get a move on so he removes himself from his rift storage.

Standing in the plain again, Arc takes a look around to see if he can get a good read on his location and the basic cardinal directions. While he's scanning the horizon he notices the sky is quite a bit brighter to the North and decides to head that way since light usually means civilization. Arc manifests his wings from his back, which come out as azure tipped white feathers along a bat-like wing. From the description, one would think that these would be the ugliest wings you've ever seen but in reality, it's incredibly different. With a wingspan of 10 meters while in a stage 2 transformation, the wings make him look exactly like how he is, Majestic and God-like. Bending at the knees, he quickly pushes up with about a quarter of his power and with a single flap of his wings, he finds himself about a mile into the air. Quickly orienting to the North, he leans forward, catches a wind current and soon finds himself on his way.

4 Hours Later

After a short while in the air Arc feels something disturb his Mana Sense, which is part of his Magic Mastery Skill, and takes a moment to determine it's direction.

'Hmmm, it sounds like someone's having a clash with someone else. Well, I guess I should take a look anyway, it might be fun!' A small grin appears on Arc's face as he thinks this. It's been a long time since he's been in a fight and his Marine nature is coming into play making him vye for the life and death struggle.

About two minutes later, he arrives over the scene of battle. It's a pretty gruesome sight. Blood seeps into the soil by the gallons only to be broken up by the occasional body part laying across an area no bigger than a hundred meters in diameter. Scanning through the carnage, he realizes that this must have been a caravan heading towards whatever city is in the North. He notices a small group of people in plate-mail armor surrounding one carriage in particular. They're fighting off a small horde of about 20 or so giant green-skinned beings. He uses his Gods Eye ability on one of each of them to quickly view their basic stats to verify his thoughts.

'Ohhh on Orc, awesome! My first time seeing one since I played AMFO. Only level 32 though. I wonder if that's high here or if it's just numbers they have on their side.'

STATUS General Information Name: Edward Firestrand Age: 38 Race: Human Level: 50 Class: Knight Currency: 0p 5g 28s 50c

'Hm, well looks like it's about average but there are only about 5 of those guards left so numbers aren't on their side. Guess I'll stop in and say hello. Who knows, maybe they'll even give me a lift to wherever their going.'

With that, Arc gives another flap of his wings and soars another mile into the sky and readies his spear to deliver death to all who stand in his way below.
