A map of the continent of Rubigo. At the center of the continent is a fifty-mile-radius hole referred to as "the Breach" by the continent's inhabitants. There are eight significant cities on the continent of Rubigo. To the northeast is the Island of Merkopia. It is said that, after the Fourth Deluge, the followers of the Dark God were forced to retreat to this island. Three independent cities - Fulvang, New Arcadia, and Osiris - sit near the Breach. With the beginning of the Fifth Deluge, the citizens of the Free Cities bear the brunt of the Deluvian incursion. Four cracks formed on the surface of Rubigo before each Deluge. These cracks now separate the denizens of Rubigo, making organization of the war effort much more difficult.

Rubigo is a slightly oblong circle with a radius of about five hundred miles. The distance between Osiris and Mitrikov is about three hundred miles. If one were to take the highway between Osiris and Mitrikov, the trip would take five hours to complete. On foot, the trip would take two weeks to complete.
