In an unremarkable house.
Koe ordered Assassin to kill the previous owner and make it a temporary home.
Neither Koe nor Assassin could control the thoughts of others, thus he resorted to this barbarity.
Although he escaped Hunter, he was in bad shape.
Although he could dodge all of Hunter’s attacks with his techniques, it wasn’t enough.
He only survived because Caster’s spells suppressed Hunter’s magic and because she was pressed for time. Even though he had survived, it had come at a terrible cost.
Sensing what she was looking for, Hunter decided to end the fight by exploding orange flames all over Ryudo Shrine. Assassin barely managed to get the severely wounded Koe out of there.
The images of the battle flickered through the unconscious Koe’s mind as Assassin stabilized him. Both his right leg and left arm had been completely crushed while his left leg and right hand had been deformed. Lying in the bed, Koe struggled to survive.
. . .
Rin found herself waking up in an unfamiliar room.
It was a hotel room.
Unable to return to the Tohsaka Residence, Archer decided to take Rin here instead.
After waking up Rin called out to him."Archer."
Archer appeared beside her bed.
He stood there silently.
Holding her head, Rin asked “What happened? How did we survive?”
Finally, Archer flatly answered. "I do not know."
Archer wanted to tell her, but couldn’t
"Really ?" Rin asked again.
“Someone else fought the man pursuing us, allowing us to slip away..” Archer replied.
"Someone else? You mean a servant?" She continued to ask, “Who was that male servant who destroyed my house? What kind of servant is capable of doing such a thing?”
"Why aren’t you answering, Archer?"
Archer stood there with a complex expression.
Although Rin couldn’t read him, she knew he wasn’t stupid.
“Ahhhh…” Rin held her head and roared at her plight.
“Why has this war spiraled out of control?”
She then thought in her heart. 'Was it because I summoned a weaker servant than the other masters?'
Feeling Rin's piercing gaze, Archer changed his expression.
He could understand the condescending view and make his own comments. “This war is over. Nothing more can be done.”
"What do you mean by that, Archer?"
Rin had more questions, but Archer disappeared with just a message.. [If you want to see tomorrow, don’t leave this place.]
. . .
Sakura happily strolled about as if she were walking through a park.
Around her, a black shadow was devouring humans around her.
Nothing was left when she was done with them..
"Ahh..." Sakura tilted her head to look at the beautiful night sky.
"It's not enough, more. I want more.” filled with unfulfilled hunger and lust, Sakura wanted to devour more to become even stronger.
The shadow around Sakura began to spread even further.
Then, Sakura stopped and looked somewhere.
"Senpai?" She called out in a soft, yet chilling voice.
But Sakura only saw a figment of her imagination.
After spending several months with Koe, Koe had affected Sakura’s mindset.
Koe was not a good person, unlike Shirout.
As a result, Koe’s sociopathic tendencies creeped into Sakura.
Sakura, who initially had given up and took everything for granted, saw this world from a new perspective after spending several months with Koe.
After being dumped and tortured by the Matou, she had lost her spirit and will.
But after meeting Shirou, his perseverance inspired her to live on and she followed ever since.
"Ha ha…."
Empty laughter echoed through the now empty streets.
“Right as Senpai said, why should I care?” Sakura tilted her head, remembering everything she had been through.
She wanted someone to save her, but nobody ever came.
She cried to her fullest, but no one paid attention to her cries.
In the end, she gave up.
She recalled her conversation with Koe.
. . .
"Sakura, do you know about the story of the beggar?"
“No, why are you asking, Senpai?”
"I want to tell it to you."
Koe began.
In a city, a beggar lived all alone. He slept under the bridge and begged for money everyday.
The beggar hoped someone would pity him and give money in sympathy.
On the first day of a new month, the beggar saw a young woman.
When she ran past, the beggar noticed her.
That afternoon, the beggar saw the woman passing by again, however unlike in the morning, she was no longer in a rush and looked very happy.
It seemed she had a successful day
On the second day, the beggar saw a man wearing a suit confidently walking past him.
That afternoon, he saw the man again, but this time, he seemed to be drained of life.
On the third day, the beggar saw a pregnant woman passing in front of him with a child holding her hand, then suddenly, a car careened into the boy.
As the woman cried over her dead son, another car crashed into the woman, killing her.
This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.
Stopping here, Koe asked Sakura what the beggar would do on the fourth day.
Sakura said she didn't know, so Koe continued.
On the fourth day the beggar remained in the same place.
Koe asked Sakura what the beggar was doing again.
Once again, Sakura said she didn’t know.
The beggar said to himself. 'On the first day, a lady was successful, on the second day a man failed, and on the third day, a woman and her child died tragically. None of this has to do with me at all.’.
Because of that the beggar stayed in the same place.
On the fifth day, a high school student passed by the beggar and gave him enough money to buy food for a week.
The beggar thanked him, but the high school student didn’t converse with him.
On the sixth day, the same high school student also gave him the same amount of money, but this time he looked gloomy.
The beggar wanted to thank him, but couldn’t before the student left.
In the afternoon, when the beggar went to buy food, he saw some high schoolers huddled in an alleyway.
After taking a closer look, he realized the student who had given him money was being bullied.
He wanted to help the student, but decided against it.
If he helped that student, then he too would be beaten and bullied. Thus, the beggar walked away.
The next day, he heard news that the student he saw yesterday had hung himself.
This time, the beggar felt sad.
Koe asked Sakura, "Why do you think the beggar felt sad?"
Unlike before, Sakura had an answer. "Because the beggar could have helped him and had a relationship with the student, unlike the previous three."
Sakura was confident in her answer.
But Koe just smiled lightly and replied with. "You're half right."
Sakura looked at Koe with confusion.
Koe continued the story.
The beggar sat where he usually sat, and said to himself. “If I helped that high school student yesterday, he might have given me more money.”
He didn’t care about the student’s personal life, only about the money he gave to him.
That evening,, the beggar was walking home when he met a high school girl sitting by the river.
At first the beggar didn't care, he only wanted to walk past to get to his bridge.
Minding his own business, the beggar didn't even glance at the high school girl.
Suddenly the girl called out to him.
The beggar turned and looked at the high school girl.
Striking up a conversation, they began to discuss the girl’s life.
She lived with her stepfather, her biological mother died in an accident a few days ago, and she was always bullied at school.
The girl had lost her only comfort in this world
The high school girl opened her wallet to show a picture of her deceased mother. To his surprise, the beggar saw it was the same pregnant woman who had died near him.
Then, the girl said she would drown herself in the river.
Koe stopped talking and asked Sakura, "What did the beggar do?"
Sakura wanted to answer, but didn’t.
Koe continued on.
“If you want to kill yourself, do it at your house, not here. If you die here, I’ll lose my sleeping area." The beggar pointed to the place under the bridge where he built his house.
“You said your stepfather tried to rape you, didn't you? And that you’re also being bullied at school, right?”
"Then why are you wasting your precious life by suiciding??"
Sakura was amused at the beggar's kindness.
“If you want to die because of them, then before you do, make them suffer as much as you have.”
“Kill your stepfather and your bullies for their sins. Then kill yourself, so that you are released from all the crimes that arise from your actions.”
Sakura was surprised.
The high school girl was also surprised, she looked at the beggar and said. "Really? I’m afraid."
The beggar quietly said, "Give me all the money you have and I will help you do all of that."
The high school girl agreed and the next day she withdrew all her money and gave it to the beggar.
With the help of the beggar, the high school girl managed to kill her stepfather with a honey trap.
Then, the high school girl killed the bullies by poisoning their drinks.
After it was all over, the high school girl came to the beggar.
When night fell, the girl saw the beggar returning home.
Although the beggar ignored her, she had clearly changed.
Once gloomy and dead, she was now filled with excitement and happiness.
"Why are you here?" The beggar groaned.
"I'm here to thank you."
"Is that so?" The beggar didn’t care.
"Are you going to kill yourself or live with your crimes?”
The girl smiled, she was now free from her chains. Not even guilt bound her down as she believed herself to be the victim.
"I will decide my own fate." The high school girl proclaimed.
"In that case, good." The beggar cleaned his house as he said. "Don't do it near here."
The high school girl nodded and left cheerfully.
That night, she took her own life.
The end.
Koe stopped talking and lay down.
Confused Sakura asked Koe. “Senpai, I still don't understand some parts of this story.”
Koe smiled and closed his eyes. Then answered casually. “I am me and you are you, we are related but we each have our own lives. Everything is connected but not everything helps each other. Only you can change yourself.”
. . .
As she recalled this,Sakura moved like an angel of death that devoured all living things.
One by one everyone was devoured as her strength continued to grow.
Suddenly, Sakura’s feast was interrupted.
To the south and north of Sakura, something was fighting her tentacles. Rats in her eyes.
The rat to the north was a spear wielding servant while to the south, a strange woman was culling her tentacles.
Although Hunter was Sakura’s equal, Lancer was struggling against her tentacles.
Sensing which one she could eat, Sakura flew towards Lancer, pulling all of her tentacles with her.
. . .
Lancer, who was on a night patrol, found a shadow preying on the humans rapidly.
This caught his attention, although he was a servant, he also had a conscience..
Checking things out, he found tentacles running amok and eating all the humans they touched.
This is the Holy Grail War, collateral damage wasn’t too concerning as long as someone won.
But what Lancer witnessed crossed his bottom line.
This was no longer a war, it was a massacre.
Lancer decided to contain the tentacles before they spread further.
However, with just a touch, Lancer felt the tentacles paralyzing him with a strange energy.
But Lancer managed to keep his footing and held the tentacles back.
Relentlessly, Lancer slashed the tentacles with his spear until he felt something powerful approaching him.
Lancer became wary of this being.
Without him noticing, the tentacles started to box him in.
Finally, Sakura arrived with her black shadow.
Sakura considered Lancer as nothing but delicious food.
At Sakura's command, a shadowy dome trapped Lancer and Sakura inside together.
"Servant. Spear. You must be a Lancer, right?” Sakura slowly descended from the air.
She smiled seductively
Lancer wielded his spear firmly, his focus was only on his enemy.
Seeing this, Sakura smiled even wider.
"Don't worry, this will all be over quickly."
With that, all the light within the dome disappeared, leaving only darkness.
. . .
In the area south of where Sakura was originally located.
Hunter’s intuition gave her a warning.
She looked up into the sky and couldn’t hold back a frown.
Hunter felt helpless, lacking any sense of control.
"All the variables have moved towards the final stage, however-" Hunter paused and recalled from her memory.
“Still, my task will become even more troublesome. I hope she can complete my task once again.”
. . .
Koe suddenly awoke in a place filled with snow, lit by a dim night sky.
He eyed the falling snow and felt an unsettling sensation within the icy winds.
"Where is this ?"
The surroundings were unknown to him but he could feel an unexplainable familiarity towards it.
Then, the pale snow and icy winds amalgamated into a humanoid shape.
It had no gender, no uniqueness; it was like a ghost, born of the Winter.
Koe could feel its frigid gaze as it circled around him.
Seeing it, Koe felt nothing; neither fear, curiosity, or otherwise.
Then, the figure abruptly stopped in front of Koe.
They stood opposite of each other, as if looking into a mirror.
Without holding back the instinct in his heart, Koe asked, “Are you ‘me'?’”
The figure moved queerily as if reacting to Koe’s question. It soon dissipated like a passing breeze.
Only a trace of its presence remained after the figure disappeared.
