Xi Shi approached the delegation and bowed formally to the group. “It is an honor to greet on behalf of the Xi Long Empire representing both as the Princess and Hero. My name is Xi Shi.”

The King bowed “It is fantastic to meet you I am sure it was a lot of discomfort to travel so far. This is my daughter Amelia Theran.” He gestured to the girl she had guessed was the princess.

“It is a pleasure Princess I am sure we will get along well.” Xi Shi gave her a small nod.

The King not waiting led Xi Shi to the man she assumed was the hero. “This is Maxius Eranhart. He is the hero of Caphaine representing Myredien.”

“Princess Xi Shi. It is an honor.” Maxius bowed by looked at her intently as if trying to figure out who she was.

“Likewise.” Xi Shi wasn't interested in her past life but she did find his stare intense.

“Great we will have the main hall prepared why not you both chat and we will take the delegates to get your quarters prepared.”

The King of Myredien was clearly a man who could read a room well which was a good trait to have as a ruler.

The groups all left leaving only the two of them staring intently at each other.

“So. What is your name?” Maxius broke the silence first.

Xi Shi laughed “Not that it matters much, but my past name was Ji Heon. Yours?”

Maxius reacted more dramatically than she initially anticipated as he walked up to her quickly with no hostile intent. As if to embrace her.

As he came towards her she struck out with her gloved fist and connected it to his cheek. Xi Shi felt the impact send him tumbling onto his rear-end.

“W-what the hell!” He cried out rubbing his face. “It is me Tae Hyun your boyfriend!”

Xi Shi stood up straight “You are mistaken. In another life we dated for a short period. I had no memory of you or my past life even two years ago and so as far as I am concerned you are not Tae Hyun, but Maxius Eranhart.”

“How can you say rhat knowing what you know!” Maxius stood up and raised his voice slightly.

“Know what?” Xi Shi questioned “I was a weak and easily beguiled girl in my last life and this life I am a Princess and warrior. Heir to the throne of Xi Long. I don't know what life you've lived here in Myredien, but I have had to live fighting for my people since I was old enough to fight.”

“So you have no feelings? No fond memories?” Maxius asked as if slightly hurt.

“What use are memories of a past life to me here and now?” Xi Shi sighed “you were always a romantic and clearly this hasn't changed in this life. I care about this life. Ji Heon is dead. She died in another world.”

Xi Shi bowed to Maxius. “If that is all Hero Maxius I will go to my room and prepare myself for the evening and arrival of the other delegation.”

Maxius watched her as she left him alone. As she left two of his Paladins approached “Lord Eranhart! What happened?”

“Nothing.” He waved down their concerns.

Maxius grit his teeth as he turned around and marched to the training yard.
