The day seemed to be flying by, but apparently Aerin was to be trained as the Queen's personal agent and body guard. What the Queen needed she would do unlike the stewardess though it was her job to defend her with her life.
Aerin was in her bones like most all Draakin loyal to their Emperor and his Queen. Petty power struggles among the Elite aside when external threats arose Draakin was extremely loyal. For Aerin this opportunity was an immense honor that most Draakin would kill for with little hesitation.
She absorbed all the information coming from the stewardess as quickly as possible. A brunette lady who had a simple charm to her. Wyrven classes more often than not would lack horns compared to even Draakin, but since they almost always had wings.
Stewardess Malera was rather impatient as if she was constantly late for something which gave the entire introduction a strained feeling.
“Guardian Aerin. Are you listening?”
Aerin snapped to attention upon hearing her name. “Sorry stewardess I was dwelling on something you said earlier.”
Malera didn't react at all “Please stay focused on the present. That is your most important trait you must focus on. It is that trait along with your training that may one day save the Queen from an Assassin or other threats.”
“As you say Stewardess Malera.” Aerin bowed slightly in apology.
“As long as you realize that.”
Aerin's room was surprisingly not far away from the Queen's room; the Queen's guard was ten handpicked Draakin of all bloodlines for their various specializations.
Stewardess Malera explained a few more of the general rules around the palace and left her to her new room. Where her belongings had already been placed.
Aerin made a note that tonight she would have to write a letter of the whirlwind of events that had taken place. It just might cause her mother to go into shock.
Three short knocks came to the sliding door. Aerin stood up, adjusting herself “Come in.”
The door opened and a well-armored man with green horns entered. His eyes immediately scanned Aerin. “Welcome to the Queen's guard. I am Captain K'lir who is in charge. Follow me, initiate.”
The man without allowing Aerrin to introduce herself turned around and walked out. Aerin followed behind quickly.
K'lir was a much more traditional Draakin name. Everything about him screamed traditional from his name to his demeanor.
Across from the courtyard where guard housing was a simple two-story palisade. Six other guards, five other males and one female stood in basic trousers and shirts while drilling combat drills.

“Line it up!” Captain K'lir called out as he escorted Aerin to the center of the field.
Dropping what they were doing they immediately lined up meeting them halfway and stood at ease.
“Introductions.” K'lir continued to call out each of his intentions as if subtly was not a thing for him.
“Guards this is Initiate Aerin Kil'ara. Sixteen years old. Wyrm bloodline. Tier ten.” He gestured to Aerin as if she was on display at a merchant's stall.
Without waiting K'lir pointed to the first two who appeared to be Wyrvens “These are the twins. Kel and Tel. Do not try and ask which is which they will not tell you. They are Wyrven and Tier eight.”
Walking a few steps over “This” he pointed to a stocky and rather large man who seemed to be the oldest of the group “is Ha'Dran drake. Tier nine.”
Aerin was surprised by the diversity of types of people in the guard so far. It must reflect the Queen's taste in some way.
“This is Qilin dragon tier nine. Nephew of Queen Cithri.”
Last was the only other female on the field besides herself which was to some relief for her. Aerin didn't mind being around men, but having a bit of feminine energy was always welcome.
Her demeanor was far more serious than the rest. If she didn't have a scowl on she would be extremely beautiful even with it she was well toned and built. Medium length blonde hair pulled back into a bun and dark brown eyes. Two small horns even smaller than Aerin's protruded from her head with a distinct blue coloring.
“Last. This is Eun'he dragon blooded tier ten. The other two guard are on duty right now.” Captain K'lir said rapidly as if even he was getting impatient with the formalities.
“Now I have a meeting with Queen Cithri. Hardman you are incharge. Be sure to fill in initiate Aerin on our routines.”
“As you say Cap!”
As quickly as K'lir had came into her room he left without a glance or word to her. Aerin bowed to them “Initiate Aerin greets your.”
“So are you…” one of the twins started “really a Wyrm?” The other finished.
“That is what the Dragon Priest said.” Aerin responded.
Both twins nodded and began to discuss amongst themselves as they walked away.
“Who cares? What use is she if she lost to the middling Wyrven boy. Probably will end up dead a few months.” The scowling Eun'he said without trying to mask her feelings at all. Not saying another word she walked away.
Aerin flinched at the boy who had taken her out. It was a loss fair and square, but she had hoped for a far better performance.
“Bahaha” Ha'Dran chuckled loudly “don't mind her she doesn't like other females generally. No one is quite sure why.”
Ha’Dran walked over and put a hand on her shoulder. As if to reassure that at least one of the guards was friendly.
“Qilin get over here you nutcase.” the supposed nephew of Queen Cithri hobbled over stiffly not making direct eye contact with Aerin. As if his arm was connected by a door hinge he raised his arm and saluted. Before bolting the opposite direction in a sprint.
Aerin blinked trying to understand what just happened. “Did I do something?” she asked.
“Oh no. That boy is an odd fellow who cannot seem to talk to women. It took him almost two years to talk to Eun’he and I think that is because she had low feminine energy.”
Ha’Dran smirked as he looked at her “Don't worry I am sure we will find you are as weird as the others soon enough.”
