Rosie's transfer procedures were quickly completed.
When the plane landed in Coppersville, Noelle felt a wave of disorientation. After all, when she had left this city, she had thought she would never return.
Now, as she looked at the city again, it seemed as if nothing had changed. It was still as bustling as ever, with towering skyscrapers and people rushing along the streets.
For Noelle, this was a city filled with painful memories, a place she had ultimately chosen to escape from. But for Rosie, it was a hometown she had never set foot in before. She was in good spirits today, leaning against the car window and curiously observing everything outside
The driver was from the Swift family, and Seline sat in the passenger seat.
After glancing ahead, she turned to Noelle and asked, "So... did you call Hendrix?"
Earlier, Noelle hadn't outright rejected Seline's suggestion, only softly saying she would notify Hendrix. But it was clear she hadn't found the resolve to do that. So, the matter was delayed again and again.
Seline had considered contacting Hendrix herself, but then she thought better of it. After all, Rosie was their daughter, so what right did she have to intervene? So, she held herself back.
Once they arrived at the hospital, Rosie was admitted to a room that same day.
Seline had also rented a nearby apartment for Noelle to rest in.
Noelle thanked her. But Seline knew that, based on how Noelle had taken care of Rosie in the past, the apartment would likely remain unused.
After helping them settle in at the hospital, Seline returned to her home.
It wasn't that she didn't want to stay with Noelle, but her mother had been calling repeatedly, urging her to come home by saying that there was something important to discuss.
Seline had thought it was something serious, but when she arrived, she was told someone had set up a blind date
for her.
"Didn't I already say I'm not planning to get married this year? And it's not like you don't know about Noelle's situation, so how can you ask me to go on a blind date now?noveldrama
Seeing Seline was about to blow her top, her mother, Marla Murphy, quickly tried to calm her down. "It's not like that. I'm not forcing you to get married this year. And of course, I know about Noelle's situation. But she has the doctor taking care of Rosie, and even if you stay there, what help will that do since you're not a medical professional?"
"Then, I'll just keep Noelle company or spend time with Rosie. I'm her godmother after all! In any case, I'm not going on any blind date."
With that, Seline turned to leave, but Marla quickly grabbed her arm. "Why are you so impatient? There's actually a very important reason why I agreed to the blind date!"
As if Seline was going to believe that!
Seeing that she was about to lose her grip on Seline, Marla stomped her foot in frustration. "Seline Swift! Can't you let me finish? If you keep this up, I'll call your father!"
Though Marla was in her 50s, thanks to her harmonious family life and a husband who had always spoiled her, her personality was even more childlike than Seline's.
At that moment, her eyes were wide with frustration. Left without a choice, she had to resort to invoking her husband, Marshall Swift.
Only then did Seline reluctantly stop in her tracks and turn around to look at Marla. "Go on."
Marla took a deep breath and said, "The reason I agreed is because of your blind date's background."
"On, another 'exceptional man, huh? Have you forgotten the 'gems' you've introduced to me before? In your eyes, is your daughter only worthy of such people?"
