It had been a month since Kade's transmigration. After injecting all his guild members, which now numbered in the hundreds, with his biomass, he had nothing to worry about. His control over them was absolute, and the SCA Guild had grown stronger than ever. Today, however, was a bit different. The previous day, Kade had received an unexpected visitor—Lee Joohee, the one from the double gate incident.
Joohee had come to Kade asking for his help. Ever since the double gate incident, she had been traumatized every time she saw a dungeon gate. It wasn't enough to make her give up entirely, but it had taken a significant toll on her mental health. She thought she could ask Kade for help, knowing he was one of the strongest in the country. She believed she would feel safe if he protected her.
She hadn't expected him to agree due to his busy schedule, but to her surprise, Kade had agreed to go into a dungeon with her.
Now, standing in front of a B-rank dungeon, Kade could immediately tell Joohee was shaking slightly, her fists clenched tightly.
"Don't worry, Joohee. No one can hurt you while I'm here," Kade comforted her, a friendly smile etched on his face.
She turned to face him, her eyes wide with fear. " Sir Kade, I… I don't think I can do this. Every time I see a dungeon entrance, all I can think about is that time we almost died. The blood, the screams… I can't shake it."
Kade placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "I understand your fear, Joohee. But we can't let it control us. You're one of the best healers we have, and your skills are needed now more than ever," he whispered to her.
She took another deep breath, her resolve wavering but not broken. "Okay," she said finally, her voice trembling. "I'll try."
Together, they stepped towards the dungeon entrance. The air grew colder, and the shadows seemed to close in around them, but Kade's presence remained a comforting anchor for Joohee. As they crossed the threshold, the familiar, eerie glow of the dungeon's interior greeted them.
The first chamber was eerily quiet, giving an unsettling atmosphere . Joohee's heart raced, her mind flashing back to the double gate incident. But Kade was there, his steady presence a constant reminder that she wasn't alone and that she was with someone who could pulverize her nightmares.
"Focus on your breathing," Kade instructed quietly. "In and out, nice and slow. Keep your mind on the present, on what you can do right now."
Stolen story; please report.
Joohee nodded, following his instructions. Slowly, the panic that had gripped her began to loosen its hold. She drew strength from Kade's calm demeanor and the knowledge that she had faced and overcome danger before.
As they walked deeper into the dungeon, the first wave of monsters appeared. It was a group of lowly golems. Kade didn't even move from his spot as he lifted his arm and pointed at them. The golems started floating from the ground, and as if being crushed by gravity itself, they shrunk in size until they were the size of marbles.
This was Kade's recently acquired ability from studying his magic. Although his main ability was still within his body, he couldn't disregard other means of fighting, especially since he had an abundant amount of magic within him.
Joohee's confidence grew with each monster killed by Kade. It was as if her nightmares were slowly getting eaten away by something.
As they cleared the chamber, Kade turned to her with a cheeky smile. "You did great, Joohee. See? You have the strength to overcome this."
She smiled back, a mix of relief and embarrassment in her eyes. "Thank you, sir Kade, but… I didn't really do anything. I just watched you kill them," Joohee said, playing with her hair.
Seeing this, Kade couldn't help but smile. Helping her had not been for nothing. If you see a man showing off in front of a woman, you should automatically know what he's up to.
He didn't want to make her his slave, as that would take away the fun of chasing a woman.
The sun was setting as Kade and Lee Joohee emerged from the dungeon, the golden light casting long shadows across the landscape.
The journey back to the SCA Guild headquarters was filled with a comfortable silence. Joohee felt a newfound sense of confidence, her steps lighter than they had been in weeks.
As they entered the grand hall of the guild, the bustling activity from earlier in the day had quieted.
"Sir Kade," Joohee began, "I really can't thank you enough for what you did today. You helped me overcome something I thought I'd never get past."
"No big deal, it wasn't hard for me to do at all," he smiled as he watched Joohee with keen interest.
"If you need anything, please just ask. It's the least I could do for what you've done today."
Kade leaned in slightly, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "How about a date? Consider it my payment for helping you today."
Joohee's eyes widened in surprise, her cheeks flushing a deep red. "A date? With you?"
Kade chuckled, his expression a mix of amusement and sincerity. "Yes, a date. What do you say?"
She hesitated for a moment, the suddenness of the request catching her off guard. But remembering how nice he had been to her, she didn't mind at all. A smile tugged at her lips. "Alright, sir Kade. You've got yourself a deal."
Meanwhile, inside an unknown dungeon, Jinwoo looked down at the fallen Cerberus, feeling a quiet satisfaction. This victory marked another milestone in his journey to becoming a top-tier hunter and bettering his family's circumstances.
As he turned to leave the dungeon, a portal appeared, signaling his exit. Jinwoo stepped through, the light enveloping him as he returned to the surface.
He had been grinding for a whole month since the double gate incident, focusing his attention on getting stronger. Although he knew about Kade being an S-rank only
Because it was a popular subject around the country, he was clueless about what had been happening outside of the dungeons apart from that.
