Prologue: The Void.

"Oh hello there, how may I help you?"

"..."

"W..what you want to hear the story of the Eternal Champion?"

"..."

"Very well, but we must go way, way back in time," the scenery starts to change to a black space with a lone presence filling it.

"I think you went too far back Storyteller, allow me to help you," the presence lets out as a gentle power pushes the scene to an empty void. Wait it is not quite empty, there is a small glowing presence which emits several different shades of light.

"Let us all thank the Supreme Sentient for that wonderful save," the Storyteller says, "and now here we have the sentient that shall become the Eternal Champion."

...

"No, you cannot touch it, we are not actually here but a half step away from this reality so we can watch but not interfere."

"..."

*****

A formless void, where only a small gathering of many colored lights shifts around in a sphere. This sphere like object is actually a soul, and it is doing something most cannot. It is sifting through its recent past life, gathering useful information to compile with its many billions of other compiled and compressed life memories.

You see this soul came into being with a condition, it can never forget a past life. Many systems and Higher Sentients (who called themselves gods) have tried and failed to get rid of these memories. It is for this condition that a certain Greater Sentient took noticed and watched for many cycles of reincarnation.

As the soul did its thing, a sentience focused its attention on the scene. This sentience felt the watchers but ignored them, as not too long after, another sentience formed near the soul. This sentence was also vast but in comparison to the first seemed small, and could easily be overlooked.

The smaller sentient nodded tor the vast one, "Supreme Sentience."

"Ah, there you are System Sentience," it replied. "So this is the one you want? Yes, I see, I will have to change it to not reincarnate and instead reform in its control room, but first things first."

It took awhile, yet no time, as time didn't really exist in this void, until the soul turned it's attention to the two sentients there, "Hello."

"Good, now we can begin. You have been chosen as the Champion for the System of Divine Diversions and as such you will get some nice benefits, now off you go!"

All those present felt as the soul sighed like it had done this before, as darkness claimed what passed for its consciousness.
