I could now see that my light aura spell cost me one point from each of the pools of the powers I had put into it. The light I had now was a soft glow, which allowed me to see a short way outside of my twenty-five-foot aura bubble, and I wondered if I added more power if it would get brighter, but decided to leave that experiment for later. Instead, I continued down the hole, which seemed to be carved right out of the multi-colored and layered stone. I followed the gentle twists and turns of the tunnel for about fifteen minutes before I came to a slight widening of the passage. As I was about to step out into the small room, I saw a slight flicker of movement off to one side, which caused me to pause. I realized that my light aura gave me away, so with caution, I entered the room with my back against the opposite side from the movement, and made my slow way towards the other tunnel. I got about three-quarters of the way through, when whatever it was moved closer to my light, which reflected with an eerie red glow off of the creature’s eyes.

I got into a combat stance, my body weapons ready to fight for my life when the creature came even closer.

“Well, damn, it’s just a rabbit,” with slow motions, so as not to frighten it, I got out of my combat stance, “Who’s a cute fluffy bunny?”

“Me?” came a reply so soft I could almost swear I didn’t hear it, then the bunny growled at me. A quick jerk of my instincts and muscles got me back into my combat stance, as I stared at the fangs in the bunny’s smile. It was at this point that the perception skill gave me a short description of the rabbit.
