The clash of wooden swords echoed through the training ground, accompanied by bursts of magic and arrows slicing through the air. Haruki, Lila, and Roderick fought fiercely against Daisy and Garrick’s relentless attacks. Despite their efforts, they struggled to defend themselves, continually pushed back by the swift and skillful strikes of Daisy and Garrick’s wooden swords.
In a moment of intense combat, Haruki stood alone against his opponents. Daisy seized the moment, granting Garrick an opportunity to strike Haruki. With lightning speed, Garrick aimed his sword spell towards Haruki, who managed to dodge, but not without a few stray fragments of hair being clipped.
Daisy called for a pause, signaling the end of the skirmish.
“Phew, that was a tough start for a training session,” exclaimed Roderick.
“Why start with such intensity?” added Lila.
Daisy explained, “I needed to assess your fighting skills before commencing the actual training. It’s an evaluation of your movements and an opportunity for me to provide feedback and, possibly, enhance your techniques.”
“I see. I tried to mimic Garrick’s style, but it proved challenging,” remarked Haruki.
“My style took me about two years to master, and Captain Daisy helped make it more manageable,” explained Garrick.
The trio relaxed on the grass, gazing up at the sky, lost in thought. The gentle breeze carried the distant sounds of the bustling town. Haruki, gathering his resolve, spoke up.
“I’d like another round.”
Lila and Roderick glanced at Haruki, sitting up in agreement.
“Are you sure? I won’t hold back this time,” warned Daisy.
“I’m ready. I need to undergo rigorous training to grow stronger,” affirmed Haruki.

Encouraged by Haruki’s determination, Lila and Roderick echoed his sentiment.
“Alright, let’s see some improvements under my guidance,” said Daisy.
“Yes, Ma’am!” they responded in unison.
After their second mock battle, they decided to take a break. Seraphina arrived, carrying a selection of goods for them.
“Here,” she said, offering the goodies.
“Ah, perfect timing!” exclaimed Roderick with excitement as they accepted the offerings. They all settled down on the grass, grateful for the break. Seraphina, curious about Earth, turned to Haruki.
“What was Earth like?” she inquired.
“Earth was filled with towering structures, advanced transportation systems, and cutting-edge technologies. But amidst all that, nature still held its breathtaking beauty,” Haruki explained.
“I would love to see what it actually looked like,” expressed Seraphina. Haruki had an idea and asked if there was special paper available to capture images.
“We have specialized paper for such purposes. I’ll go get it,” Seraphina offered, heading back into the castle.
As they waited for her return, Lila asked Haruki about his life on Earth.
“Before I came here, I worked,” Haruki replied.
“Like a slave?” questioned Lila.
“No, slavery isn’t a common practice on our world. Everyone has their freedom, and we were free to pursue what we desired, within the boundaries of laws,” Haruki clarified.
“Ah, that sounds similar to what we follow,” Daisy remarked.
Seraphina returned, carrying several papers that she handed to Haruki. Placing his hand over the paper, he envisioned the city in Japan where he resided. Almost immediately, the mental image was transferred to the paper, yet it appeared blurry and difficult to decipher.
“Try focusing more clearly. Relax and take a few deep breaths,” Seraphina advised Haruki. Following her guidance, he concentrated once more. The image on the paper became sharper, revealing a bustling city in Japan against a clear blue sky. They were all amazed by what they saw and asked Haruki if that was where he had lived.
“Yes, that’s my hometown. It was a comfortable place where I lived with my sister,” Haruki confirmed.
“See, he does belong there. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to show us this,” Seraphina defended Haruki.
“True. I understand now,” Roderick chuckled lightly.
They resumed enjoying the snacks that Seraphina had provided.
