In a land where natural energy can be harnessed and utilized, humans learned to use abilities far beyond what their mortal flesh are capable of. Hope burned in them as they tried to fight their way up into the hierarchy of species.
Magic was created and mages were born, which led to the advancement of the human race. However, war and chaos came along with their great power.
Many other race tried to outdo humans and stand on top. Slaughter, and carnage became an everyday thing.
With the frequent battle, other races were also able to enhance their magic and became more powerful. They became organized as ranks were created where each leader eyed for glory. This drive then led to a full scale war that ended the life of millions.
With nonstop bloodshed, a thousand years quickly passed, and every race refused to be outdone. With everyone vying to be on top, and each race's strength seem to be on equal terms, a standoff ensued which lasted for several hundred of years.
When everyone thought that the impasse would eventually result in peace, an existence from the human race suddenly appeared. His strength was unrivaled and his ingenious contrivances for war were unmatched.
Alone, he slaughtered thousands and caused havoc in the entire plane of Chorias. With an army of wizard, he tilted the war at the advantage of the humans and wrest away the lands of the enemies.
The deadlock was quickly broken with his lead. As humans became more aggressive and decisive, it caused the flames of war to erupt again.
In just a mere thirty years, he was able to eliminate every leader of other races and forcefully claim victory for humans. Many died in the process, but being on top ensured that human race would further advance and grow.
The defeated races could not help but capitulate, and most started to become vassals of humans, but some became as low as slaves. The name Orcus spread far and wide as the strongest existence, who led humans into victory.
As time passed, he became a living legend to the point of being labeled as a God. If a non human spoke of his name in blasphemy, they were incarcerated or even killed on the spot.
The peace lasted for three hundred years under the name of Lord Orcus. No one dared to betray him or even cause strife, which ensured the rapid growth of humans. Lord Orcus strength also grew by leaps and bounds breaching a level which was believed to be impossible for humans to achieve.
Every human rejoiced from the strength of Lord Orcus, however, Lord Orcus himself wasn't satisfied. He knew that with his strength, he could try to go to the land of Gods and seek more fortune to gain unimaginable power.
However, before he could even proceed with his measure, some Gods who were watching him for years felt threatened. They created a grand spell which wrested away the lifespan of Lord Orcus.
With his life quickly fading, Lord Orcus went mad. He started causing chaos and slaughtering humans to collect their blood. Only by sacrificing the lives of millions of humans, could he create the a blood sacrifice spell to lengthen his own longevity.
No one was able to stop Lord Orcus. Everyone who tried to do so, ended up dying in an instant. Even those who tried to flee and hide were killed.
The peace which humans built for hundreds of years crumbled in a single night and did not end until a God took notice of the chaos in Chorias. This specific God believe that extinction of humans in Chorias was not good and could cause more problem.
So with his magic, he forcefully pulled Lord Orcus to the underworld and there he was sealed for eternity. However, before he was sealed, he successfully completed the blood sacrifice from the death of millions of humans and other race which then filled him with life and achieve immortality.
With his Immortality and the eternal seal placed on him, he had no choice but to live forever in the depths of underworld alone in the darkness while suffering eternally from the flames of the hell.
With this, the humans started to rise again, but, this time, some races rebelled and tried to start a war. However, the three hundred years of human progress could not be defeated easily and not all races wished for chaos, most wanted to live in peace and co exist with humans along with other races.
This created a situation where humans along with other races created an equal law where they could co exist, and this time, the only race they started to fear were the Gods.
