Familial Interlude: Vasu
Vasu took a deep breath as the ship finally went through the interstellar gate. Turning to his wife and giving her a smile in which she returned. A weight seemed to be released from his shoulders and just as they were leaving the ground began to shake. Vasu quickly activated his power and expending his mana to cover the small city left behind by his son. Preserving the internals and preventing anything from collapsing.
“Something has changed.”
Keala who remained by his side during the earthquake said and Vasu couldn’t help but agree with her. Yet that did not cause him to worry for Aegis and his expedition. Vasu was more than confident in his first sons’ abilities at least until the events that happened next.
Keala eyes began to glow, and she began to rise into the air. Then she screamed.
“STAR GOD.”
A terrible feeling came to Vasu’s stomach as he watched his wife scream in agony. What was going on? Vasu watched in amazement as his aura was spread out at the slight changes that came to his surrounds. A blade of grass grew slightly greener, and he watched a butterfly split into two entirely new species.
“Reality…” Vasu whispered. As his understanding was still low but as the leader of the western nobility and with his family being such strong supporters of the family put in charge by the ancestor’s certain information was revealed to him. Not only that but as his cultivation grew and as he better understood the earth and fire Vasu could see the very changes as they happened. New information on the properties of the two main magic types of his family used filled his mind. The two Paths were complete and the third one awaited. Vasu used this opportunity to increase his strength as he observed the changes around him

His wife who was farther ahead could see even more than he could. With her connection to the Star God Vasu could only image what she was seeing.
“Reality has shifted,” Keala hissed as she returned to the ground.
“Star God is injured but alive. My connection grows weak. If it weren’t for this boundary…”
Her voice trailed off and she gazed at the blue sky.
“What does this mean for our son?”
“Oh, he should be fine. I’ve stored away an Armanet Golem and several hundred lesser golems within one of the spatial holds on the ship. He should find it eventually.”
Vasu stared at his wife in amazement and stupefaction.
A sigh escaped his lips. He wanted to be angry but as he watched reality change around him, he couldn’t help but let it go. It was the boy’s test to become the next head of the dukedom but in truth the boy had long since passed in Vasu eyes. Yet he was determined to follow his ancestor’s teachings and set him off early in hopes of creating a new hero and one ready for when the orcs reinvaded. Skirmished had occurred before but with the population density reaching a peak in the greenlands it was only a matter of time before their gazes relocked onto their former slaves and food source.
“Well… let us return home. We have a necromancer to hunt for.”

Vasu gazed at the Oblix Core. An incredibly dense mana stone that could propel his cultivation an entire level. It was of the earth affinity as well. A large bounty that the families paid to get onto his son’s expedition along with other concessions and a few trades on Vasu part to placate the grumbling nobles. How could Vasu force his son to accept nobles into his army when he gave him funds and full anatomy to do whatever he wanted and use any resources to a degree.
His wife had an even larger bounty as both the Church of Arva and Rirrypha wanted into the expedition. Vasu found it a bit suspicious but let it go after the price they paid. They would not do anything to jeopardize his son. Afterall the gods only had so much weight within the boundaries. He settled down into his chamber of reflections and began to absorb the densely packed mana.
