After Alitheus joined the Guild, Vlad was finally able to proceed with its creation and even see the guild’s “status screen”.
Ding!
[You are one of the owners of this house; therefore, you have been granted permission to use it as a headquarters for your Guild.]
[The Guild Management Window has been finally unlocked! You can now manage your Guild Level, Guild Skills, Guild Members, Stats, and more.]

[You can gain Guild Contribution by donating Credits directly to the Guild or by slaying Bosses and Participating in Raids with all guild member parties.]
[Guild Wars can also give larger quantities of Guild Contribution alongside Special Items to Upgrade and Learn new Guild Skills.]
After having gained the guild window, Vlad was also told about Guild Contribution, an important resource necessary for Guilds to grow and develop.
However, such things didn’t matter right now, as he only cared about what was derived from a special item.
Ding!
[You have used the [Territory Ownership Flag] to take over this territory!]
[Because you’re partially the owner of this land and you’ve received the permission of your mother, the Duchess, you have successfully claimed this entire city and its surrounding lands as your Guild’s Territory.]
[The Requirements have been met! You’ve unlocked the Territory Management Window. The Guild Territory section has been unlocked in the Guild Management Window as well.]
“Aha, there it is…”
As Vlad saw the windows pop up, he suddenly felt something—an enormous quantity of power swelling through the entire once empty territory.
As if this place had suddenly become magical or perhaps even alive, he felt an intrinsic connection to every inch of this town and its inhabitants.
“T-This is…?”
As he gasped in disbelief over this connection he felt, sensing that there was even some sort of resource collecting ability, a special “something” he could feel where energies and resources could be stored for him to directly use or take, he saw more system windows.
Ding!
[Congratulations for becoming the first Player in Fantasy Story Online that has unlocked the Territory Management System!]
[However, just doing that is simply not enough! Now that you’ve unlocked the Territory, you must choose which type of Civilization within your Territory you want to lead.]
[Based on the Civilization type you choose, special traits, affinities, and more will be unlocked. The options available will be based on already existing population, building type, world, and your own abilities and race.]
[Please choose the Civilization type you desire for your Territory]:
[Sanguine Civilization: Blood Moon]: [Faction Attribute: Evil, Blood, Darkness] [Difficulty: Hard]
[Beast Civilization: Green Claw]: [Faction Attribute: Beast, Taming, Creature] [Difficulty: Normal]
[Dragon Civilization: Silver Scale]: [Faction Attribute: Dragon, Fire, Reptile] [Difficulty: Easy]
[Faction Attributes will decide what types of Units you will be able to Summon and also the unique Buildings for your Territory that you can create.]
[Difficulties are based on how easy it is to progress and grow with each Civilization. However, the harder the difficulty, the more unique buildings and units are available and the more rewards you gain from Skirmishes and Invasions.]
"Woah, so I have to choose? This is hard… The obvious one is Silver Scale, no? But, hmm, it would feel like I’m just betraying my kind. Would my mother be okay with that?”
Vlad thought about it really hard; having a civilization that could summon dragons sounded simply stupendous.
However, he didn’t care anyway.
Yeah, he wanted to go for the Sanguine Civilization; he was never a fan of dragons, and ultimately, this was all for his own enjoyment as a game.
So, why even pick whatever someone else would think it’s the best?
He’ll do whatever he wants.
“Harder civilizations are also given more rewards, so might as well…”
Ding!

“I had no idea it would be THIS detailed.”
Paul was left speechless as he was finally able to see the information about the city, and it was completely terrible!
Their food production was so slow it was eating away at their reserves very quickly! And everything else? Just zero!
They didn’t produce their own gold, lumber, metals, stone, gold, arcana, or blood energy…
Yet.
“Wait a second, some of these just are nonsensical… What with the gold? Don’t we use Credits for everything?”
[Resource Information]:
[Gold]: [A precious metal with high magical properties that can be mined and exchanged for Credits or other products. Usually it is what the civilization “economy” is based on. Quickly increasing its production is vital to keep your territory civilization growing. Can be collected from taxes.]
“Oh nice… Can I see the other info then?”
Paul sat down as he began reading the big list of resources a territory produced.
[Food]: [A quantitative estimation of how much food is produced by the territory; food that is imported from other cities or territories does not count on its production count. When your food production is in negative numbers, it means your people are slowly starving. Keeping this up and running is the most necessary of all resources, as your population will begin dying if it runs out! When creating buildings, you’ll have to pay some Food to the contractors. Can be produced by Farms and Cattle Farms. Production can increase by Researching Rationing and Agriculture.]
[Lumber]: [Wood and other derived materials, such as paper and cardboard, are incredibly necessary for the everyday production of houses, furniture, tools, and more. When winter comes, lumber is spent the most to keep your population warm. A necessary resource for the creation of buildings. Can be produced through Lumbermills buildings and Forests Zones. Production can increase by Researching Woodcraft.]
[Metals]: [Steel, Copper, Silver, and other magical metals are piled within this category. Absolutely necessary for the production of tools, houses, magic artifacts, armor, weapons, and more. A resource that Blacksmiths will require constantly for a greater production of weapons and armor that’ll reinforce your army and increase your Territory Civilization Power. Can be produced from Mines and then refined through Blacksmiths and Smithies. Production can increase by Researching Alloys.]
[Stone]: [Plain old stone, a necessary material for the construction of buildings and the expansion of the territory’s fortresses, castles, walls, and larger buildings that require stronger defenses. Produced by Quarries. Production can increase by Researching Masonry.]
[Arcana]: [A vital Magical Resource that is necessary for the creation of Magical Buildings, Magical Artifacts and Equipment, and the summoning of troops. Can be directly absorbed by the Territory Master to enhance their power. Produced through population donation or through Arcana Factories. Production can increase by Researching Witchcraft.]
[Blood Energy]: [The unique resource of the Sanguine Civilization, required for the creation of all Unique Buildings and the Summoning of all Unique Troops and Heroes. It is also the Food of all Vampires within the Civilization which can be directly fed from it and grow stronger over time. Donated by the population or through Bloodshed Sanctuaries. Production can increase by Researching Hematology.]
[Sanguine Medals]: [A unique Premium Currency of the Sanguine Civilization, you can earn them by completing special Territory Quest Events or Invading other Territories successfully. They can be exchanged for special items in the Territory shop that reset every 7 days. You can also use them to speed up the production of troops and the construction or upgrade of buildings.]
“Oh, this is really interesting…” Paul nodded. “So I can do this and that, okay…”
Chris noticed how concentrated Paul was and went to quickly annoy him.
“So what’s up? How does it work?”
“Like a Civilization Game.”
“Eh? Really?”
“Yes… kind of. Maybe more simplified now that I think about it. Give it a look.”
Chris glanced at all the information and was having a hard time paying attention and understanding everything; he had little attention span.
“Uhhh, okay? Yeah, this is really stupid, too much detail,” Chris said. “The hell?”
"Yeah, but I kind of like it like that,” Paul smiled. “I think I kind of get the gist of it. But right now our resources are so low I doubt I can even build anything, which is annoying. I think this practically gives me the power of a civilization game. Although this game is so realistic, with this power I’ll be able to conjure buildings out of nowhere… and also summon troops just as easily.”
“Wait, what? Really?” laughed Chris. “Then if we can gather enough resources, we’re set!”
"Yeah, the thing is, we barely have any if nothing,” said Vlad. “Most resources we see are actually just sold by merchants that come from far away… Elderbridge resource production is near null; save the farms, which are now ruined. I’ll fix them later.”
“Then what do we do to get more resources?” Chris asked. “Can you even make any building that creates them?”
“I don’t think so, not yet” said Paul. “We’ll have to use our well-earned Raid Points to remediate such a problem… but for now I wanted to check something. System, show me the troops I can summon.”
Ding!
[Showcasing the Troops your Territory can Summon…]

{Summon Troops}:
[Sanguine Bat]: [Arcana: 10] [Gold: 5] [Blood Energy: 5]
[Blood Beast]: [Arcana: 20] [Gold: 15] [Blood Energy: 10]
[Ghoulish Nightwalker]: [Arcana: 40] [Gold: 35] [Blood Energy: 20]
[???]: [To be unlocked.]

“I see, though it doesn’t say how strong they are…” said Paul. “But alright, I guess that gives me a general idea of how much it costs to be summoned.
“Can’t you use your own Arcana and Blood Energy?” asked Chris.
“Maybe, but we still need the Gold,” said Paul. “So we have to gather that one way or another… Taxing the population right now is a terrible idea due to the city’s current conditions. So we’re going to first improve the production of food and other resources, create some buildings, and get people happier… and more protected.”
“Alright then, what do you got for that?”
“This,” Paul showed Chris a bunch of items he had just purchased.
They were big, white-colored orbs.
“Oh, the Random Territory Facility Creation Marble!” said Chris.
“Indeed,” nodded Vlad. “We’ll use these, which I bought five of, and see what facilities we get so we can play around with that first. Then I’ll use the other Raid Shop and buy resources from it.”
“Nice, okay, how do you use that though?” Chris wondered.
“Let me see…”
Paul grabbed one of the marbles and then gave it a mental input of “activating” or “use item”.
And then…
Ding!
[You’re about to use the [Random Territory Facility Creation Marble (S Grade); please assign an area within the territory map where you want this building to be made.]
A whole map of Elderbridge appeared in front of him, and any green-colored spot was good to build the facility.
“Okay, nice… Hmm.”
Right now there was a lot of land to place territories; even land outside the walls somehow counted. However, he would prefer if it was inside, near the walls.
“All of the west area of the walls is destroyed, and nobody is living there; let’s pick this area.”
The moment he chose the area, the marble floated in midair and then flew away. He could still see it moving through the map, reaching the area he assigned, and then…
FLAAASH!
Exploding on a flash of bright light, rapidly materializing a huge building out of nowhere!
[Congratulations! You have used the [Random Territory Facility Creation Marble (S Grade)] x1 and created the Random Facility: [Arcana Factory: Lv1/10]!]
“Nice! We got a good one right away!” Paul celebrated.
“…Isn’t this just Gacha?” Chris wondered.
“Yeah, that’s why it’s fun.”
