Delilah’s Dad: I said be specific!
Me: I was! I could have said I traveled!
I was trying to bypass the need to tell the truth, but it grew harder the more evasive I was being.
I tried to possess Wolf again, to avoid having to answer any more questions, but the pearl Delilah’s dad held, glowed and restricted me.
He smirked.
Delilah’s Dad: Heh, you can’t posses that Alpha Dark Wolf anymore. Not as long as I have this Soul-Binding Pearl.
The pearl emitted a blinding light, and began to wrap around me.
Delilah’s Dad: THERE YOU ARE!
He looked right at me, almost as if he could really see me. The pearl in his hand began to crumble into dust. The dust flowed over towards me, and bound me even tighter.
You have been trapped by a Soul-Binding effect. Your abilities will be severely happened while under this effect.
Delilah’s Dad: Eh? For a rank C species, you’re not very powerful are you? I wasted that pearl on you? Exactly what rank are you?
I felt compelled to speak.
Me: I don’t know!
And I meant it. I had no idea what rank I was. I mean adventurers had ranks, and monsters had ranks in numbers, but I was neither. Although the numbered ranks probably was similar to the adventurers rank. My rank 4 meant Rank C.
Delilah’s Dad began to ask me a question, but was interrupted.
Delilah: Dad! What are you doing!?
I could see surprise and a hint of franticness in Delilah’s Dad eyes. He obviously tried to hold back
Delilah’s Dad: I’m trying to imprison your pet!
His eyes instantly went dark after he shouted that. He turned angrily towards me, and cast a spell.
Delilah’s Dad: Greater Beings of Mana and Soul! Destroy the one before you: Soul Prison!
He pointed at me, and a huge wave of mana came into existence.
Delilah’s face dropped when she heard the incantation.
Delilah: NO! DADDY NO!
Chains spewed forth from the ground, causing me to instantly feel a sense of crisis.
The chains wrapped around my entire ‘body’. A huge ball of darkness instantly formed around me. The darkness began to swirl, and became streaked with white. I could still here what was happening on the outside, but couldn’t even attempt to communicate.
Delilah was crying, and her father was going on about how he had no choice. He told her how he used the soul binding pearl, and how it didn’t do anything to me (a lie), and how he tried his best to convince me to not attack(second lie), but I was going to anyway(lie three).
Obviously the circle of truth thing had gone away.
Inside the prison I couldn’t move, or speak. I couldn’t do anything. Well almost anyway. I could still do two things. I could change my size, but the chains still seemed capable of holding me. I could also consume.
As soon as I got struck by those chains, I began to consume them. They were much harder to consume than the chains binding Wolf. Even if I made myself as small as possible, I could barely dent the chains the surrounded me. I didn’t even think of how hard it would be to consume the entire thing.
An undetermined amount of time later.
I had been concentrating on consuming the chains as quickly as possible, when I suddenly heard Delilah’s Dad.
Delilah’s Dad: You’ve made Delilah hate me. Now I’ll have you pay me back for that. Heh. You might not be able to communicate, but I know you can hear me. I’m putting you into another Soul Pearl. With your soul, I’ll be able to capture at least a rank A monster. At least you’ll have some worth left in your life.
I felt an uncomfortable pulling sensation, then I heard Delilah’s dad again.
Delilah’s Dad: Done. Now sit in there for a month and we’ll see how resistant you are to me then. And don’t worry about your dog friend. I’m going to put him in a rank B soul constraint. He’ll be a slave of my family forever!
I was worried, but nothing seemed to have happened after the pulling. I wasn’t dead, and I could still change my size and consume the chains.
He said he’ll be back in an entire month? Does he not know I broke the last chains by eating them?
It seemed like he really didn’t. If he did, he wouldn’t have just left me there like that. I never slept, and only ate when it came to things like these chains. So I just spent some time eating them.
It was incredibly boring. I had no one to talk to, and nothing to do but consume the chains. I couldn’t let it get to me though. If I did then Delilah’s Dad would have won.
So I just continued to consume the chains. I didn’t know how long passed. I kept myself sane by thinking about what was happening to Wolf, and Delilah. I plotted how I would deal with Delilah’s d, once I got out.
After what seemed like several days, although time was distorted in the black orb, I had a visitor.
Dainty footsteps could be heard. They were light, as if they were trying to be sneaky. There was no other sound in this room though.
They slowly approached where I was. Quiet sobs soon followed.
Delilah: I’m sorry Entity! I’m so sorry!
Although her words were quiet, and came in between sobs, I could still make them out.
Delilah: It’s my fault you were put in there. They say daddy is going to use you to capture other monsters!
She continued to sob for a while. After a while she began to calm down. After several more deep breaths, she began speaking.
Delilah: The wolf Entity isn’t the same anymore. You’ve been in here for two weeks now, and he hasn’t seemed interested in any of the books. That was you, wasn’t it? Daddy says your evil, but someone that made me feel so safe couldn’t be bad.
She sighed sadly.
Delilah: This is probably going to be the only time I can see you. One of the guards got fired today, so he let me in here. It wasn’t a very good thing for him to do, but I’m happy he did. At least I got to say goodbye. I hope you don’t hate me or daddy too much. I… I love you like you are part of my family. *Sigh. I wish daddy could understand.
With that, she got up and left the room again. It had been two weeks already? I hadn’t even gone through the white chains caused by the pearl. Much less the black ones caused by the orb, or the orb itself!
I was supposed to do all of that in two week?
I, understandably, began to panic.
I shrank myself to as small as possible. At one point it began to become painful, but I kept shrinking. The smaller I got, the more painful it got.
When I couldn’t take the pain anymore, I began to frantically consume the chains. Even breaking just one of them would be enough. I just needed to get free of them.
I continued to consume the chains as quickly as possible. The more I ate, the easier it was for me to get smaller, so the small I could get while enduring the pain.

I knew, by some unquestionable knowledge, that piercing any sized hole in the chain, would cause all of them to fall apart.
When I was about halfway through the white chains, I felt something like soothing water.
My attention snapped to the world around me.
Delilah: It’s been a week. I hope you are ok mr. Entity. That is all of the spirit I can give you. The books I read said soul creatures live off of spirits of others. But you didn’t seem to eat wolf Entity’s soul. But this is all I can do to help. I hope you can figure out a way to break out of there. Bye Mr. Entity!
She tried to sound cheerful, but her voice dripped with sadness. How long had she been there?
Although I was torn up inside for missing the conversation, I had to focus on destroying the chain. For some reason, when I went back to consuming the chain, it was several times easier than it had been.
I rapidly consumed the chain.
One week Later
Footsteps sounded from inside the room again. This time they were heavy, heavy and deliberate. They wanted me to know they were coming.
Before the footsteps even made it to where I was put, I heard Delilah’s dad begin to speak.
Delilah’s Dad: Hahaha. It seems like you’ve had a fun time this past months. What’s wrong?
He continued in a condescending voice, as if he were taunting a small child.
Delilah’s Dad: Can’t fight anymore? Awww, the poor thing!
In a more serious, and gloating, tone he continued to taunt me.
Delilah’s Dad: I told you, didn’t I? You’re going to be my property. Just look at this little guy.
Wolf: ARF! GRRRRR
WOLF!
Although I had prepared myself for the encounter with Delilah’s Dad, I didn’t think he’d go as far as to bring Wolf in to make me suffer even further.
Delilah’s Dad: How does it feel to know that your canine puppet is now MY puppet? To know that it doesn’t even have a soul-binding on it, but you still can’t take it over? No comment? Fine. Let’s see how quiet you can stay! Master’s of Death, torture the soul before me: Mind Melt!
A heat wave seemed to attack my mind. I tried to keep quiet, but let out an involuntary cry.
Me: AHHHH!
Delilah’s Dad: HA! I knew you would feel that. Shall we try that again? Or do you yield to me as your master?
Me: Master? OH! You want to control MY power!?
I had been waiting for this moment for two days.
A few days ago
After Delilah left, I had sped my eating pace up considerably. Within only a few hours I managed to drill a small hole through the white chains that bound me.
You have been freed from a Soul-Binding effect. Your abilities will no longer be hampered by this effect.
In that moment of triumph, I let myself expand to my normal size. The feeling of complete lack of pain was wonderful. What’s more, I found the residual chains left, were already being consumed by my body. It was like that one break broke the entire spell.
I spent the next two days I had eaten through the dark chains that sprouted right before the dark prison bound me. I consumed the entire chain at once.
I felt my power continue to climb as I ate. I never got another notification saying I increased in rank, but I felt vastly more powerful than before.
In two days I had consumed every bit of those darkness chains. What I was left with, was a black orb streaked with white.
I moved my body to touch it. The moment I came into contact with it, I felt a will try to consume me. I fought back, but felt my mind being stolen from me.
Instead of fighting on even terms, I shrunk myself down to the tiniest I could actually manage, and began to burrow through the black orb. The orb tried to match against me, but it only took a moment to get past.
The energy Delilah gave me had helped extraordinarily well in getting me out of the white chains. Not only that, getting out of the chains filled me with a sense of power. Not just the same amount of power I had before, I was even stronger than that.
I had more than enough power to consume the black chains quickly. The moment I consumed them, I gained even more power.
It was all just guessing, but I was pretty sure I’d be able to possess a rank creature pretty easily. Even if I couldn’t get a rank 5 creature, I’d be able to at least stun it for a while. Then the rank 4 could do a bit of damage at least.
I pierced through the orb with ease after I minimized myself. The moment I did, the mana became loose mana that I could easily eat. So I did.
The moment I ate the orb, I was released from the pearl I had been trapped in. I hid in a nearby area, and waited. I could finally keep track of actual time when I was freed. So I knew how long it had been.
I was just lucky he didn’t use another pearl as soon as he got in the room. That was bad planning on his part.
Of course his heat wave didn’t actually hit me, just where I was supposed to be. I let out the roar to make him think he hurt me.
Current time.
Me: Master? OH! You want to control MY power!? Let’s see you try!
I created a crack on the pearl. Normally I couldn’t actually do anything to real items, but the pearl was basically something made of magic. So I could come in contact with it to some degree.
The crack began to widen. Soon smaller cracks formed from the first. The smaller cracks began to connect, and *Schee* the pearl broke apart.
He was right about one thing though. Wolf really didn’t have a soul-binding on. I know because I went to eat it right away.
Why would I eat it?
Because I possessed Wolf, and we were running away!
Wolf ran through the empty hall, and through the door way that led outside. Although Wolf had been thoroughly trained to obey Delilah’s dad, I completely invalidated its will. It wasn’t smart for Delilah’s dad to come to me without guards. If he had any, maybe then he could have stopped me.
As soon as I was outside, Wolf smelled a few guards coming. We raced passed them, and headed into the nearby woods. We crossed the same field as last time, but there was one major difference.
This time the guards were so far behind us, they had no chance of catching up. By the time Delilah’s dad called an alarm, we were already to the edge of the forest.
I looked back to the mansion that had been my home for the past two months. The guards were frantically running towards me.
Goodbye Delilah. I hope to see you again one day.
With that Wolf turned around, and dashed into the forest.
