Nibbler was broken and barely breathing, a little line of red trailed from one of hertheir nostrils. Something was wrong and all Six could do was cast Vital Surge on her and pulse Life Waves. He ran out of mana quickly and began bloodcast, only to realize his health pool was much smaller.
Kytaligan had drained 23 points of Six’s constitution bringing him down to 22. He pushed it out of his mind as he crouched near his pet and watched in fear.
He knew severed limbs and scars could not be regrown with simple regen, he really just hoped and when the Vital Surge ended he drew his spear of vital surge and casted it with that.
Slowly Nibbler’s breathing grew in strength and they twitched a bit before their eyes opened ever so slightly.
Six smiled and a tear of relief came to his face, he had lost before, losing Nibbler would destroy him.
Nibbler winced and hissed as they tested their limbs but they were alive.
Six looted the remains of the golem.
The flesh had melted away into an unusable mess that lump greedily slurped up of its own initiative.
There were much that remained though.

“Take that, jerk.”
Into the spatial everything went.

Nibbler had made their way over, looking much better. Six picked her up and sat down against the wall of the corridor, skritchin and scratching his raccoon. Chittering purrs reached his ear and he melted into relaxation for a moment before bringing up his ley nexus screen.
Error note: Ley Node energies are being redirected and/or blocked. The Ley affinities, and the Deathspire Mountain mana pool and mana regen are restricted until this issue has been resolved.
Hmm, its still fucked.
He relaxed a bit more before putting Nibbler down against the wishes of the little creature, her paws grabbing fruitlessly at his dented armor.
He stood and made his way into the Ley Nexus and stared at the only defining feature of the room, the podium upon which Kytaligan layed.
He walked up and inspected it.
Inspection Failed.
That hadn’t happened in a while. There was a large part of him that just wanted to smash the thing but another part that knew breaking a powerful magic device was asking for some arcane recoil. Instead he spent some time examining the relatively plain block and found it subtly labeled in ancient K’gan.
There was an off switch.
Quest Complete, Reset the Node
Rewards for Completion: Proper functioning of the Ley Core relationship.
Immediately Six felt lightheaded as his body had more access to mana. It wasn’t like when he put on the mana ring. This was mana outside his body, a foreign thing, yet it was pure and clear like cold spring water. It made him feel rejuvenated and vigorous.
But there was more, a feeling of… something deep and fundamental…
A pulse.
Coming from the ground beneath his feet, it echoed through the stone around him.
Stone that seemed to cry to him, to speak to him.
MP: 1132/1132
Six made a low whistle. He liked options and straight mana definitely broadened his horizons, most importantly allowing enchantment of moderate spells and runes.
He also gained new domain spells.

Level 1 spells implied the existence of level 2 spells, but Six didn’t see himself making that happen anytime soon.
The spells seemed powerful, Summon Ley Worker especially. They were not for personal power though, they were to leverage and assist a society. Maybe he could make a work crew and lights shows or something.
There was a new section on orison density and it basically broke the number down into a more granular list.
Shepherds Peak: 711 (Human)
Mountain's End: 483 (Irregular)
Gor Tapu: 303 (Goblin)
Glurbk: 237 (Koatl)
Blerk: 121 (Koatl)
Szirp: 96 (Koatl)
Kletch Raud: 93 (Goblin)
Amog’s Band:72 (Irregular)
Poporse: 63 (Koatl)
Mlinti: 51 (Koatl)
Jokoral: 45 (Goblin)
Orison Density: 2275/10000
Hmm…from 1686 to 2275. It wasn't really a personal objective but it was nice to see the number go up, Six supposed.
There was another village of humans on the mountain, along with a bunch of goblins and koatl.
He wondered why he saw Amog’s group there until he remembered the orison prompt. It only specified one had to consider the mountain one’s home.
Huh, neat.
He looked at his reduced constitution and cringed but forced himself to calm down. It might not be permanent.
He carried Nibbler in his arms and Lump on his shoulder, Poh Doh lumbering behind with creaking joints of wood. They went home to his cave.
The moon shone with its own illumination but Six wanted a fire. He built a rager and stripped down to his boots and pants. After the last struggle he felt strangely invincible, this was foolish he knew as he had already died once, still he doffed his ever present armor.
He stacked the logs high and stood watching the fire crackle.
He packed and sparked his pipe, smoking and staring between the flames and the stars. He grilled some vegetables and sat there appreciating it all so far. There was a bubbling euphoria building in him, a reassurance grown from success.
He smoked more weed and kept the fire blazing. He danced to the music in his mind and laughed the tension away.
A shuffling brought his attention back to the present, stoned or not.
Charles approached, his fine patched jacket was missing and his clothes were bloody and torn. Bruises and cuts adorned him and he wore a grimace of anger.
“By Kynairos, what are you DOING Six?” Charles shouted with frustration.
Six stopped dancing, concerned at the state of the kid, a cold pit fell into his stomach. Something had gone terribly wrong. “Charles, what happened?”
There was a moment of silence, Charles cocked his head and his body shook. He whispered and Six could hear the shame and frustration.
“Alison is dead.”
