Chapter Twenty Eight

The pair went through a few taverns and shops to repeat the same act. He weaved flowers into her hair as they passed small bouquets and bought her sweets for her to snack on. Mira enjoyed the small meals as she hadn’t eaten properly in weeks. The plentiful amount of alcohol buzzed in her system to lighten her mood as well.

“You said you would get me drunk when we went out for a fun night,” She smiled, “I think you promised to take me dancing, too.”

Bo motioned towards an open space in the street where a standing bar was surrounded by dancing pairs. The musicians around the bar played loud enough to drown out any attempts to talk. He dragged her towards the crowd and held her close.

Because Bobabano was nearly two half heads taller than her, they made an awkward dancing pair. She wasn’t used to the closeness of the dances in the claustrophobic crowd. Mira scanned the people around them and dug her nails into his arm to make sure they weren’t separated.

“Breathe,” Bo lifted her up as he twirled them, “Focus on me, okay?”

He wrapped his arms under her and lifted her up. She sat in his arms comfortably as she relaxed and placed her head on top of his. Mira saw the jealous faces of the men and women around them and decided it was time to move to the next step of their plan.

She grabbed his face and sloppily kissed him. He eagerly accepted and sat her on her feet. When she pulled away from him, he pouted and kissed down her neck.

“Let’s go,” She whispered.

“As you wish,” He hummed, “Shall I make an announcement?”

“I would much rather you not–”

“I must announce to everyone that I’m about to have a great night,” He lifted her over his shoulder in front of an audience.

Mira frowned at his impish smile. She knew he relished this more than it even seemed. Bobabano announced to the world his intentions and the world seemed to reply in praises for his generosity. The crowd erupted into applause as Bobabano pulled out a bag of coins and plopped it down on the bar.

“A toast!” He grinned and lifted a drink, “To all those here and ready to witness my joy. My woman is finally ready to claim me!”

Mira covered her red face with her hands as they cheered. He firmly smacked her bottom and carried her out into the alley. He placed her feet on the ground and looked at her with a snarky smile that annoyed her.

“What?” He chuckled as moved the hair from her neck.

His hands travelled up the back of her shirt as he turned to the outer wall of the bar. She felt that he was getting to into the act. When she started to protest, he bit down on her neck. The sensation made her gasp, and she stopped fighting him. The jeers of the crowd and the loud vibrant music disappeared as the shivering waves washed over her body until he pulled away.

“That was a bit eccentric,” She frowned, “Why all that?”

“You denounced me earlier today,” Bo snorted, “What else wins over women but money and power?”

“How are we going to enter the palace?” Mira looked as they approached walked towards the palace.

“We are in the guest wing. There’s much less security,” He laughed, “I already have a plan for that.”

Bo whisked her off her feet again and carried her like his bride through the marble lined courtyard. Every few steps, He would lean down and kiss her gently. If any guards approached, he threw her against something and loomed over her like he would devour her if he could.

“Why are you enjoying this so much?” She whispered as he leaned over her.

“I get show off my queen as my lover. You’ve kissed me enough to make any man smile. We have to make sure they remember?” He chuckled, “Besides, you can’t tell me that you haven’t been having fun.”

“It has been… interesting,” She crossed her arms, “I can see why others like it.”

“You wound me,” He placed his hands over his heart in jest, “You can’t even admit you’re enjoying yourself, can you?”

Mira laughed as he twirled her every few steps and stopped to lift her against a building and whisper to her as people passed by. All the physical touch exhausted her mentality, but she needed to know their actions that night wouldn’t reflect badly on her new friends. The more their skin met, the less awkward she felt around him.

Amethyst had told her that her apprehension of others would fade if she got used to them. As the night went on, she realized that her first reaction went from flinching at his touch to accepting it. Mira wondered if this meant she was used to Bo now. He seemed to enjoy the flirtatious activities, but she also knew he did that in general with women.

As they got into the gardens of the palace, Mira pulled herself into him and pulled one of her legs up against his. He hesitated to see what she was doing. She nodded to the palace guards patrolling the area. His hand caressed her thigh as he looked into her amber eyes. She batted her lashes and lustfully gazed back at him.

“I want you to kiss me again. They won’t be as easily fooled.”

“Wha—what?” His blinked at her genuine interest.

“Kiss me like you want to drag me into your bed,” She looked down the alley to the guards that angrily paced towards them.

Without another invitation, Bo lifted her up by the hips and pinned her against the wall behind her. His lips met hers with a hunger she didn’t expect. It wasn’t like any of the previous times they kissed that night. One hand softly held the back of her head from hitting the harsh brick and the other pressed her firmly against him. He opened his mouth to deepen the kiss, and Mira bit his lower lip gently. The reverberation of his yearning moan sent a shiver down her spine. Bo’s lips trailed down her neck and onto her breasts before he pressed harder against her. His hand moved from the back of her neck and slowly broke off the buttons of her blouse. Each pop pulled the shirt open more. As he bit down along her collarbone, she shivered against him. Her nails dug into his back as he nibbled up to her ear. When his teeth gentle pulled at her lobe, the small gasp from the bliss made her excitement harder to hide.

“What are you –” A guard paused, “You can’t be doing that out here!”

Bobabano pulled away from her and her body screamed in anger at the interruption. Whatever he did sent beautiful, carnal signals through her and she wanted it to continue. It was second only to the intoxicating magic Encante surged in her veins when she transformed into the wraith. She gripped his shoulders so he wouldn’t turn away.

“No,” She mumbled.

“Sorry, Love,” Bo placed her head against his chest and turned to the guard, “Is there something you needed?”

“Captain Bobabano?” He approached them, “Sir, wait– are you two drunk?”

Mira giggled and slurred her words, “We’re on our way to –”

They noticed her ripped open shirt before she clasped it closed with her hand. She hid her blush in his chest.

“You can’t do that out here,” The guard sighed, “Keep yourselves decent until you make it back to your lodgings.”

“Ah yes,” The orc devilishly grinned and let her feet touch the ground, “We are on our way to my room. Apologies, we are much more affectionate in my motherland. I forget that I cannot please my woman how I want in Zrud. Chalk it up to cultural differences.”

He dismissively waved a hand to brush off their insulting tones. Mira held her shirt closed and stepped behind Bobabano. He laughed at the blush on her face and winked to the guard.

“We should be getting their shortly,” He smacked her rear, “Right, my lady?”

“S-stop it!” Her flustered voice broke.

“Just –” The guard looked at them in disgust, “Have a good night.”

As the guards went on, Bo took in a deep breath. He stroked her face and gently brushed a thumb against her lips. The two stood in silence staring at each other before he closed his eyes. He leaned his head against the wall above her and kissed the top of her head.

“Goddess,” He whispered under his breath, “Agrowl give me strength.”

“What?” She looked up.

“Do you know how much I’ve wanted to do that?” He laughed airlessly, “I’m surprised I controlled myself from ripping your clothes of completely.”

The small bruises along her collarbone travelled under her curly hair and stood out against her pale skin. Bobabano took off his shirt and placed it against her. He turned away from her and let her throw it over herself. She tied the extra length at her hip and leaned against the wall.

“We should go back to your room,” Mira turned away.

“Should I carry you?” He smiled flirtatiously.

“I can walk.”

As the disembodied voice in her amulet teased her.

“He would make an excellent mate,” Encante analyzed, “Even if he doesn’t have talents, he is strong. By the ting—”

“That is enough,” Mira growled under her breath at him.

“You clearly enjoyed his mating ritual,” He chuckled, “My people were much different. This is more like your mothers –”

“I don’t want to talk about it,” She frowned.

“If I am to be an observer—”

“Absolutely not.”

Encante snickered at her quick denial, “I only have a few places to go to while you are awake. I feel everything you feel.”

Mira ignored him as they continued to walk. Perhaps she had too much alcohol during their escapades and her judgment was clouded. No other reason could explain why she had these odd feelings she never experienced before. She wrapped her hands around his arm and leaned against him as they walked back to his room.

Bobabano’s mark shined under the torchlight as they entered guest wing of the place. The other tattoos on his arms and chest caught her attention. Mira had to stop from the thoughts of how delectable his shirtless form looked when the slight sweat from the night made his muscles glisten. He guided her to the entrance she pulled his arm back before he opened the door.

“Remember I am not delicate,” She whispered as her hand brushed his chest, “Do your worst.”

Orcs were well known for boisterous session of love making, especially when they were young. The first night a woman claimed a man, he tended to show her exactly what he was capable of. It was the biggest reason why orcs were attracted to and by warriors.

Bobabano smirked as he understood what she meant, “I would love nothing more.”

As they stepped into the long hallway, he threw her against a decorative table and the ceramic pot on top shattered against the floor. With her pinned against the wall, he grabbed a handful of her hair and yanked it roughly.

“I hope you don’t mind,” He grabbed his tunic that she wore and ripped it in half with a feverish grin, “But I’m going to enjoy this.”

A squeak from a servant caused them both to laugh. Mira took the interruption to wrap her legs around his waist and throw them to the ground. As few more palace servants rushed to the scene before halting to the sounds of playful destruction around them. Mira waited until she heard their whispers before she pinned his shoulders to the ground and leaned down to kiss him. Before their lips met, Bo threw her off of him and she crashed into the nearby wall. That caused another vase to splatter against the ground. She laughed as the paintings crashed down and he tried lift her up by her hips. Her instincts to study everything around her faded as they fought for dominance in the wrestling match towards his suite.

Bo slipped her boots off and let them litter the floor. She threw him against the wall. His hands guided hers to his belt. Mira understood and unbuckled the constriction at his waist. With a smooth motion, she pulled it from his pants and threw it behind them as he kicked a door open.

Mira bounced off the floor and Bo threw himself over her. Her fingernails dug into his shoulders as he kissed down her neck to her naval. His hand trailed up her legs slowly until he reached her thighs. He gripped the hem of his shirt and ripped it open to show skin beneath it.

“Dreadful packaging for such a wonderful present,” He purred in her ear.

Bo didn’t know what to expect, but her exquisite, lean form enticed him more than he thought. He realized she didn’t have voluptuous curves like other women he bedded because she was built for battle. Her modest muscles reminded him of some of the marble statues back home. Even the way the fabric that held her breasts tightly against her chest could have fooled him that she was a smaller girl from the baggy clothes she wore. After he saw how she strapped her breasts to keep them from getting in the way, he wanted to free them. The damned fabric was tightly wrapped and impossible to figure out in his drunken mind.

“What do you suggest?” The erotic tone of her voice sent a chill through him.

Bobabano bit his lip and his eyes roamed over her for a moment. Her hand trailed down to the hem of his pants. He groaned as she teased him by running her fingers between the fabric and the skin beneath. He tried to figure out if this was still a rouse or if his seductress actually wanted him.

As his hands trailed down her, Bo looked to her for any word to tell him to stop before he continued. The small noises from his touch made him believe the line blurred somewhere along the way. Mira wasn’t sure herself, except that her body craved more of what he was did to her.

“Well?” Mira unbuttoned him and began to tug his trousers down.

“I would prefer nothing at all,” He grabbed a piece of broken pottery from their destruction.

As he cut the stained fabric from her chest to expose her breasts, they heard a gasp from the broken doorframe. Mira growled at their continued audience and put her arm over her chest. It broke him out of the dream and infuriated him. These people took that – took her –away from him. He pulled her against him to hide her beautiful figure from the prying eyes behind him.

“Can I help you?” Bo barked at the palace servants, “Can’t you tell we are in the middle of something private?”

The servants scattered and he carried Mira into his bedroom. As the door slammed behind them, Bo sat her down on the bed and hesitated. His beautiful lady laid there with only pair of pants between them. As much as his mind screamed at him to continue, he knew he shouldn’t. Bo turned from her, slammed his fists against the wall and cursed under his breath.

“Goddess above,” He leaned his head against the wall, “Mira, just –just cover up.”
