Chapter 1 Old friends

Chapter 1 Old friends

This is a fiction based of reality

"On the mountains of truth you can never climb in vain: either you will reach a point higher up today, or you will be training your powers so that you will be able to climb higher tomorrow."

-Friedrich Nietzsche

My name is Alexander Mahailovich Borisov. About my self? Well there's alot to say

I grew up in Russia during its economic depression. At those times potato sack were guarded beter than nuclear weapons.

Everyday my mother would go out and come back during the evening  usually drunk....Now that I think about it, I'm guessing she was a prostitute. She had tried her best to raise her 3 kids. At the age of 4; I was the youngest.

Now all I have left is bitter memories which doesn't even leaves any room for names

My father....would always sleep all day drowned in his vodka. The few times he was awake he would beat me or my mother.

I remember this one instance particularly well....

My father had my mother tied to a chair. The boiling hot stew that my mother had made was knocked down and spilled on the floor.

My father struck my mother so hard that she and her chair was toppled over. I've quickly rushed over to untied the ropes. While I was trying to do this my father kicked the wind out of me before he left, slamming the door behind

"I'm sorry.....sob...I'm so sorry...sob"

I untied the ropes but she continued to lay there sobbing......perhaps if I had comforted her then, then things wouldn't have escalated as they did. I left her laying there....

Few days later when tucking me in to bed my mother asked what I would think if she killed herself.......I don't really remember my answer but I'm sure I spoke against it....probably...

If only I have said more......

The next morning I went in our backyard to pick some raspberries found my mother

She was hanging from a tree.....

That was also the last time I saw my brother and sister. We got separated when we were processed in the orphanage. My father got sent to jail shortly after

I'm really fucked up....I dint even cry once......I couldn't even go to her funeral....

In an orphanage I did pretty much what I wanted and I made various friends and quickly formed a gang. We build various club houses. We had 1 in the attic of the carpentry shop. The only way to get to it is to climb 3 stories up a brick wall. That was really scary but my adrenaline pushed me.

We later start to robbed people..What you think you can't get robbed by a 8 yo?

Trying having 7-10 of us with stones in our hands charging at you with reckless abandon.

We pretty much did what we wanted

During those days I only feared my friend Yuri...I watched him one time nearly killing someone twice his size.

During summer we would go live on a farm facility. From summer to winter. We skipped out on all the chores....

We build various labyrinths under the buildings and only chose inaccessible areas that only we could climb

After the end of each summer camp the older kids who were 15 or so led us through the woods into a clearing. There was a pole sticking out of the grass about 4 inches thick and 10 ft high. There were various logs a ranged around the pole in a Tipi shape. Next to it was a circular dirt pit about 20 yards wide.

During that day you had two options as an orphan. The first is join the army. We were often shown movies that portrayed soviet might. I'm guessing that was just to make us exited about joining the army.

The other choice is to join the mafia.

Well I guess the're actually 3 choice. You could alway go out and find a job wich is unlike because the orphanage based education is viewed as inferior to a regular one. Or...you can always get lucky and find an oil field like that one dude....

So, to get us read for the cruel world the kids would divide the orphanage into half. By the way this was a male only event. 1 person from one side has to fight as many people as he can back to back until he looses. When he does another takes his place. This is continued until 1 side gets completely annihilated. The person who wins the most fights in a row gets the most respect.

I've won 8 fights back to back before I got too tired.......Yuri won 13.

Ultimately I got adopted by an abusive family.  Well I was too much for me so they claimed that I was crazy and left me at a hospital. I think I was 12 at that time? Then I god sent to a children's home. After running through a Buch of families; One was dumb enough to adopt me. By that point I was too emotionally dampened to feel such thing as love. The Only emotions I knew was hate and anger.

Time with this family reality dampened those emotions out as well.

I joined the military after 1 graduate highschool to get a GI bill. I've got General Discharge....under honorable conditions for fighting someone.....Well I was getting tired of that place anyway. I've still have my GI bill.

That combined with the tuition waver that I got from being in foster care got 8 years of my school paid for.

I went to school for machenical Engineering and I ended up getting a Doctorates Degrea. I have alway been in pursuit of knowledge and I strive for human progression and evolution. My slightly mod ding diffrent existing technology I have created self regenerated power circuit. Among other thing I'm best known for pioneering gamma ray lasers.

When I have heard that a gamma ray lense has been developed I immediately saw the potential.  I've dumped millions that I have earned with my various inventions to fund their project. I would spend every day observing and analyzing the result. Eventually we developed an efficient lense.

Using a proton-conducting polymer in this fashion

The gamma rays will be conducted in then gets reflected by a gamma ray mirror.

It will work in the exact way that a normal laser would. Then the focused gamma rays will pass through an ionizing substance that will produce even more electrons through ionization. Then it will be focused through the lense. This will be powered by spent nuclear fuel.

I've achieve a Nobel piece prize and was dubbed the greatest mind in particles physics.

Over the years I've became fascinated with Tesla work with vibration. I've learned that Tesla tapped into what I call a living frequency.

http%3a%2f%2fupload.wikimedia.org%2fwikipedia%2fen...llator.png [http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/dc/TeslaOscillator.png]

Tesla's electro-mechanical oscillator is a steam-powered electric generator patented by Nikola Tesla in 1893. One version of the oscillator caused an earthquake in New York City in 1898.

Likewise I've stumble on this other individual named Egar Casey. His work is truely remarkable. He died in the Mid 1940s but his reading still rewrite science today. This man had the ability to tap into the living frequency with is the same frequency that a human brain operates on.

Few years later my college who goes by the name Fedor Willson implored me to assist him in his research of the living frequency and how it could be possibly tapped into by a device not yet created. He was a genius in his own right but was often an outcast of the scientific community. His investor would invest unless I signed up for this endeavor. I had nothing better to do and just before I was dabbling in this frequency.

"It would be a great opportunity for me too" Ive finished the conversation

As I began to walk out I hear "Oh yes,..I almost forgot. My investors is intrested in meeting you...would you join me for lunch tomorrow. Doctor Willson didn't want to push his luck so he was hesitant to ask.

"Yes,I'll go. You can tell me more about your finding then"

Willson couldn't believe his luck. When he fist met the famed doctor back when he was still earning his masters. He seemed emotionally distant and uncaring. His grades weren't particularly great ether...Usually people steered clear of him especially after they saw his knuckles...For some strange reason he chose to befriend me...not that I'm complaining now...I mean even then he would listen to me with an open mind while others just laughed. Above anything, he was curious.

The next day at lunch

'You must be the famed Doctor Borisov' A man with a familiar face greater me.

"Yes, uhm..Mr...Investor." Not having a name made it awkward

"You can call me Yuri Ivanovich" The man said wile reaching forward to shake my hand

"I-Ivanovich? Yuri?" I was flabbergasted

"Um..yeh. Is everything alright? " He had a worried look on his face

"Yeh" I recovered. "You just look like someone I knew long ago. You even share the same name" I explained

"S-sasha?" This time it was Yuri who was speechless,

Doctor Willson who was unsure of what was going on stayed out of the conversation

30 minutes later while finishing eating

"To thing the fates can be so cruel but at the same time so kind..." I paused before resuming

'So Yuri what have you been up to..Mr. Investor.' I asked playfully

Yuri laughed. "It hard to imagine is it not? Just a few years ago I was still with my brotherhood"

"They let you go?" I said surprised

Yeh..I made a lot of friends. I just had to fork over $200,000 that day and give them 15% of my earnings

"That's all?....usually they kill you or at the very least take 40%"

"Yeh...I was really lucky to have such good friends" Yuri said with a faint smile as if reminiscing.

"Listen Alex" yuri interrupted the silence. I wasn't planning on it but....now that I have met you my old friend...I'll also come alog....I'll want to see what you see.......To be honest I absolutely admire you before I found out who you are.."

"You don't admire me now that you've learned that the great doctor was little sasha all along?" I said jokingly

"No its not that....It's just...It started weird. To admire a friend. People like you should be out of reach..beyond us regular folks"

"You give me too much to much credit. I just leached others people's work and capitalized on the technology they were using for a diffrent purpose. I'm just like you I follow my path and thank a gifting horse now and then."

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

"At least you have a path..." Yuri said in a depressing tone

"Oh don't go emo on me yuri....You know when we were younger I used to look up to you....It's funn now that we're older I find you looking up to me.... " I fell into tought.

"But look at you Yuri you have done something incredible yourself have you not?" I'm not sure I could have done it myself.

Yuri fell into laughter.

"So the research vessel will be ready in 2 month?" I asked as we were concurring our discussion

"Yes" Doctor Willson replied "Were outfitting it with various sensors. It will take fee weeks to install everything and another to set everything up"

"Good then, I'll see you then"

3 weeks later Key West

"The quantum field created by the Electronic fog 3 years ago was truely remarkable" An elderly man spoke

"Yes and what about the pilot who claimed to have experienced a timewarp. There even radar recording to back up his claim" Another spoke "Just thinking about the discoveries that we will make is sending shivers up my spine.

"Oh please. The only reason I joined you rabble is because my teacher took intrest." The yonder one said sounding annoyed.

"So you can't think for yourself is that it?.."

"Watch your tongue old man.." He snapped

"And you watch yours" I interrupted.

"Just who do y-" he immediately caugh himself. "Its an honor to meat you Doctor Borisov His face instantly changed from one of twisted anger into that of an innocent smile.

"Yes the please are is all yours....An who are you?" I asked mockingly

"U-uh-that is.." he began to stutter sweat start to form on his brow

"Can't you speak boy?" I asked raising my voice

"Student my ass" you head someone mutter.

"Uh..M-my name is David Clark...I have doct-"

I looked at him up and down. He looked like a rich sheltered nerdy kid

"Good for you" I interrupted "Who is the senior researcher?" I interrupted

"That would be me" the elderly man walked up. "Its a pleasure to have your acquaintance, I am Doctor Mark Stienbell. I am the senior researcher"

"The pleasures all mine" I curted. "I have heard many things about your work in the effects of frequencies on quantum particle"

"Oh please you give me to much credit." the old man blushed "I am but an ignorant fool who stubble apon the enswer while searching for another"

"Isn't that true for everyone" I asked quizzicaly

"Not at all" the doctor laughed

Through this whole small talk you could hear the grinding of teeth coming from Clarks direction

"Enough of the small talk" I changed the subject "Where the lead researcher Doctor Willson?"

"Oh yes.." The old man said stoking his beard. He seemed to do that when he was happy about something

"He's talking thing over with that Yuri fellow" He said

"Then I leave you to your work." I concluded

I saw him up ahead. "Doctor Willson" I called out. "Are we set for sail?"

"Not just yet. It will still take a day or two to finish calibrating everything. Hmm? You brought a gun?" He asked noticing my gun case.

"You can never be to careful with pirates roaming the oceans" I promptly said

"No you can't" Doctor Willson agree with a nod.

The next day and a half I lounged around Kew West with Yuri. Doctor Willson was too busy with the prep work. Then it was finally time.

The research vessel was more of an old sport yatch donated by...Yuri's friends

He told me the details later. The yatch was used for smuggling and was reinforced with bulletproof hull and glass. Well at least it's good to know we won't get shot...

It took few hours to get to our location and now the sun has long set. In the distance you could hear a storm brewing.

(Stange...I have checked the satellite scans....there shouldn't be any storms for days)

"D-docter....come to the bow quick" I heard someone call out to me followed by the sound of fading running sound

"??" I followed after him

I arrived at the bow and what I saw was glowing waters from horizon to horizon

"The milky....sea..?"

This phenomenon's existence was also in question . That is until 2005 when an earth orbit satellite caugh it off the coast of africa. It was nearly 300 klm long.

The circumstances under which milky seas form is almost entirely unknown. Even the source for the light emission is under debate.

"A-amazing....." That's all I could say

"Hey, hey! What you loats doing? Hurry up and get to work. We have some data to gather!" Barked the old man.

"Y-yes sir" the two junior researchers clamored about. Clark just stood there

Old man stared at him (.....Fucking useless sack of shit.)

They spend the next 2 hours recording their finding.

With my insight we have came up with the quick solution

It's a process known as Phosphorescence.

It seams like the materials coming out of the underwater vents had strong Phosphorescence properties. The vents erupted during the day time.

As it's contents flowed to the surface when it was night time they began to glow. This is the mystery behind the miky sea.

"You really are amazing you know that? Even before we started gathering any data you already knew it as a matter of course....." Yuri solemnly spoke

"....please...you give me too much credit..." ..Sometimes I wish I was normal. What am I doing I can't afford such though now. I am the man that will make warp drive possible.....

My vision is a giant gamma ray laser that's positioned close to the sun. It will harnes all of solar radiation and focus it in to one beam. It would be more accurate to call it a solar lazer.

Layers of mirrors that's located in the P N junction reflect and amplify all the radiation in accordance to the diffrent mirrors in the junction. The outermost mirror reflects photons while the inner most mirrors reflect gammaray.

This was 87% efficient.

Lois Crane and Shawn Westmoreland of Kansas State University calculated what it would take to create a small black hole and harness the energy to propel a starship.

They found that there is a sweet spot for black holes that are small enough to be artificially created and to produce enormous amounts of energy, but are large enough that they don’t immediately evaporate in a burst of particles. Their ideal black hole would have a mass of about a million metric tons and would be about one one-thousandth the size of a proton.

To create such a black hole, Crane and Westmoreland envision a massive spherical gamma-ray laser in space, powered by thousands of square kilometers of solar panels. After charging for a few years, this laser would release the pent-up energy equivalent to a million metric tons of mass in a converging spherical shell of photons. As the shell collapses in on itself, the energy becomes so dense that its own gravity focuses it down to a single point and a black hole is born.

The black hole would immediately begin to disgorge all the energy that was compressed to form it. To harness that energy and propel a starship, the black hole would be placed at the center of a parabolic electron-gas mirror that would reflect all the energy radiated from the black hole out the back of the ship, propelling the ship forward. Particle beams attached to the ship behind the black hole would be used to simultaneously feed the black hole and propel it along with the ship.

Until I have completed my dream of leading humanity into greatness....I have nothing but this

2 days later 7:15

The irrie quiet sucked me out of my deep though

I looked up and I realised everyone staring at the same thing

http%3a%2f%2fmedia-cache-ec0.pinimg.com%2f236x%2fd...9d891a.jpg [http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/236x/db/3f/d3/db3fd38ff3bf85ddd8b7f9c2d19d891a.jpg]

The glowing mass slowly spiraled as it crackled with lightning

As if we're going in slow motion it decended down to the mirror stilled water.

The closer the cloud got to the ocean the rougher the ocean got.

It took approximately 15 minutes for the cloud to touch down. When it did the ocean got really rough. I raced into the cabin. I stared out the window with the others as we stared with wonder and curiosity.

The cloud crept in all directions around the point at wich it touched down. Slowly it crept closer and closer before completely engulfing the yatch

Immediate darkness.

All the power went out out immediately.

(It seams like it fried the back up as well)

"Listen everyone!" I urged as heard the chaos die down

"We have just gone through electronic fog"

"On the ocean?...Impossible.....what happened to the power....we're the back up" I heard someone interrupted

The electronic fog had enough electromagnetic energy to decend to earth...Nothing like what that time warp event in the 1970s.

This is much stronger...."

"How much stronger?" I heard someone else ask

"Enough to fry all the electronics onboard. If the even in the 70s was like a 200 pound bomb then this is like an atom bomb in comparison...." I answered "Listen. we need to slowly navigate to the bridge. We need to see what's going on"

Inside the Yatch was pitch dark. Luckily the design was good and there was a passage way going straight to the bridge. After making it to the bridge I saw a body laying on the floor.

"Yuri..." I gulped. There was blood coming from his head. Then I heard a groan

I immediately ran up to help him up

After wrapping yuri's head in the pitch black dark I convinced everyone to go to sleep.

There's no reason risking injury fumbling in the dark and if this is truely is as bad as I think it is then we need all the rest we can get.
