I can't win, I can't even run, yet my blood is pumping. My face is in a constant smile, laughing in the face of certain death. I land on the beast's back and slash at its neck as hard as I can but it just leaves another flesh wound. It spins around, throwing me off and starts to rush at me, angry. Instead of leaping out of the way which would be the smart choice I also rushed it. Right before we crash into each other I slide under and make a small stretch on its stomach while trying to avoid the spidery legs that are trying to spear me. As I jump up from the ground behind the monster, I see a leg coming for me and I jump to the side. My right arm is gone from the bicep down, cut clean off but instead of despairing, I start laughing even more as I use my remaining arm to take out an eye of the turning beast. The cost of me taking its eye is my lung as one of the forefront spider legs spear my chest, before I could do anything the head came along and bit down on my left shoulder.
I can't even feel the pain, the only thing I can feel is my lust for this battle to never end. My right arm is gone, my left arm as well in a second, my chest is pierced. Yet I feel a hunger and I too bite the beast in the neck, as it rips my only remaining arm off.
I ignore the insane amount of pain and huge amount of blood I'm losing as I stare into the eyes of the beast who stares back, but its eyes are no longer the eyes of a predator looking at prey, it was the eyes of a warrior looking at a worthy opponent.
We rush at each other and having no arms I leap out of the way of its charge and bits down on one of its leg joints, ripping some flesh and nerves off that staggers it a bit, but not long enough to get away as its jumps sideways and spears my body with multiple spear like spider legs. I'm not laughing anymore but only because I'm slowly choking on my own blood as I grin.
Everything slowly gets dark and I start to fall…

That was quite the fight, never expected that from that creature, but I respect it and I kinda don't wanna see him die yet, I wanna see how far he can go.

Out of pure instinct, my roots slowly crawl through the portal and over to the man, touching him. I connect.

The connected being contains a soul therefore cannot be overwritten.
Do you wish to be PATRON to the human "bear" Y/N
I ponder what the system just told me as this is the first time it said anything more than what skills I acquired or what classes/skills do. But out of pure curiosity, I mentally answer yes and even more mana leaves my body and starts to Modify and change the human named “bear”, who's quite the creature, huge compared to the other 2 that arrived with him.
Name: Bear
Age: 40 years old
Species: Human
Class: Woodcutter
I can see more stats on the human than the Chimera but that probably has something to do with it having no soul. But I can't see all of it, not its class, skills or his mana and health.
“Bear” starts shaking and his veins turn glowing dark blue starting from his heart and moving slowly throughout his body. Suddenly he jerks up and looks around calmly, with his new dark blue glowing eyes and black sclera, the combination reminding him of himself floating in space.
The connection feels different, not that of a servant and master but that of a guardian and follower and I just know from the feeling that instead of giving commands, I can speak to him, guide him, strengthen him.
“Can you hear me human?” his head jerks around to look straight at the portal, and he stands up and walks over in front of my portal not caring about the Chimera that still stands beside it.
“Who are you?” I contemplated how I should introduce myself but just went with my heart “I'm the Eldritch Tree” he just nodded, and even if this was my first ever interaction with another intelligent being, I know that he was weirdly quiet.
