I woke up with a knife against my throat, or to be more precise, inside it, like having me leak blood on my covers levels of inside, a situation I did not enjoy in the slightest.
My eyes shot open to a cloaked figure with an ebony mask holding what looked to be a ritual dagger.
“What are you?” They asked, something about their tone implying them thinking themselves superior to me in a way, a subtle shaking of the voice the only way their fear for the unknown could be noticed.
They wanted me dead, the blades placement and the way they pinned me down quite obvious in that as I drew upon a part of me I hadn’t in quite a while.
Slowly, the reality of my existence unraveled, parts of me entering the stream of spatium between the dimensions, where beings of infinite power resided.
It would require an almost impossible spell to even get to this sphere of existence, but I felt myself flow along its streams seamlessly.
Like a chimp moving along vines, or electricity through a network of cables, I moved behind my attacker, the entire buildings structure revealing itself as I separated from the weave, my hands against their head as I chose to create the ‘drain control’, ‘bubble bag’ and ‘disassociate’ on them, a combination that left them unfocused, slightly paralyzed and trapped in a ball of water.
“Do you know how long this will take to heal? I’ll punish you in some way, and you do not believe how much I need to punish someone at this point. I know you don’t listen right now, so I might as well simply take a bite out of you, right?”
I grin as I drop the bubble bag, taking the mask a bit away and spitting in their drooling mouth, grinning as they slipped further and further into my spells, probably having the trip of their life with all the sedatives affecting them at once as I lowered their head a bit, a mixture of brain juice, blood and drool dripping into my outstretched cup, which I drank before knocking on the veins in our room, quickly prompting someone to open our door.
“I think this drunkard accidentally entered the wrong room, please make sure he doesn’t disturb me when I’m sleeping, if that works.”
My wounds had healed almost immediately, and I positioned myself in a way to hide the blood stains on my bed, until they were gone, at which point I tried to sleep again.
When Ember and I woke up next, It was to a knock on our door, forcing both of us to change before I went towards it and opened, Moore standing there.
“Good morning, I was informed of a visitor last night? Just know that he is in a severely vegetative state, and we are unsure what happened, if you are interested in explaining more, we will be open.
Now however you are required in the ceremony halls, so you may move as freely as needed and leave this place. Please follow me, breakfast will be served once the initiation has been completed.”
Silently, Ember and I followed them, our steps right behind him as walls shifted to lead us where he wanted to go, until we finally reached a room that was more than just shifting corridors.
Everything I saw was alive, and not merely the way the house was alive in itself.
There was a brain like structure made of wood and Mycelium, visibly twitching in almost every way possible, and some looking to be impossible.
The floor was see through and slightly bouncy, with even more strands running through it.
Walls opened everywhere, while branches contracted, a part of the ground peeling back like wet lips, revealing a pond of crawling abominations, ugly by any standard I could use to measure, and quite probably parasitic, if my analyze skill worked as it was supposed to.
Slowly, someone emerged to take a parasite, and as I observed it, many things about this family finally clicked into place.
The parasite looked like the strands I saw connecting the other members souls, the beasts having reformed their own soul to better leech on those of others, it gave me ideas.
“The youngest shall embrace the communicator bug first, so that he may embrace the wisdom of the forefathers.”

It was embarrassing to watch this show, the Vitus-necros attunement of these creatures was almost as obvious to me as the way everyone around me was controlled by them, not merging, but submitting to this home as if it was haunted.
I had no option but to obey though, so I might as well do my best.
The leader put the bug on my hand, where it began crawling towards my head, while I waited with spells like ‘Seizure’ ‘Warp control’ and ‘drain control’, building the power within me and getting ready to unleash it all at once.
It reached my nose, and just as it was about to enter, I unleashed my spells, making it drop into my mouth instead of my brain, where I wrapped it in my tongue and began draining it, the drain starting the very same moment it did the same with small tentacles bursting from its form.
Almost immediately, we fell to the ground, both consuming each other in an attempt to be the ruling one.
It spread everywhere, and I eroded the strands I did not want. I dissolved it, and it ate away at me.
We were evenly matched, magically fueled evolution and semi focused spell works mixing and clashing for superiority.
It wanted my body, which I needed to survive, my mind, which I had worked so hard to refine, and my soul, which should never be touched.
Then it clicked, like a dislocated joint entering the place it was meant to be.

Anima chimera 3
Your soul is used to absorbing others, when you kill something, a part of it will be naturally drawn to you.
This thing was like me. It survived by merging souls, it was definitely undying and the way its flesh and soul were one, I knew it was not from this world. It just also happened to be weak and life infused.
My flesh followed its command, and I eroded myself when it did so, until my saliva finally did what it did best, assimilating my opponent, until we were finally done, and I felt the greatest bit of satisfaction I had ever felt.
A grin spread across my lips as my very soul changed a little, small tentacles sprouting from it, and a hint of Vita entering it as I reopened my eyes, going towards Ember.
“The ceremony is completed, you may now head to your room.”
The leader said, and we obeyed.
When we finally entered our place, the first thing I did was look at his soul, watching as the parasite was boiled alive by the nova like ball of pure flames.
“It seems we both have our own anti parasite protection, I just hope we get a dorm room before you lose access to this place, can’t imagine how to live with a burning soul though, must be quite hot.”
I commented my observation, my friend grinning at my words.
“It makes the flames I draw a bit hotter, but that’s what happens when you are as great as me, you know?”
Then, we worked through his application and made sure to fill it out properly.
It was always a relief to spend time with my one friend who had no reason to lie, especially as the parasite was slowly turned to cinders, further fueling his burning soul.
“Do you think there is a chance for your soul to ever burn up?” I ask him, which made him ponder.
“Probably, if I don’t have enough fuel or something. What about you? Everything I know about your soul screams ‘I will tear myself apart at the next opportunity’ and it stems entirely from people reacting to it. Well, we should probably head to the academy now, ask for a dorm and everything before they open, right? Can’t have them not accept our entrance because of something like being too late, I’d break my promise doing that, and I’ll never break a promise.”
