Since the time I saw her, I was mesmerized by her beauty. But having lots of stuffs going on around me, I didn’t want to give much attention to this feeling.

I was always alone, ever since I can remember. I had to work out everything on my own. No one was there to support me. May it be the time when I got injured, or having a strong fever. I was always on my own…

I thought only I was the one who felt like that. But on the day when I saw her, I could see in her eyes. That she was just like me. When lady Elara went back, I saw the look in her eyes. She wanted to ask for help, but it was as if she knew no one was there to help her. She tried to stand up on her own, her legs shaking with a swollen face. Yet she didn’t give up and started cleaning the table. I, hidden by the bushes, watched her till she was done with cleaning.

“It’s been 2 days now since I saw her like that…”

It was midnight when I was still awake, laying on my bed. I was deep into thoughts.

“Arrgghh!! How do I get her out of there!?!?”

Unable to sleep I was thinking of different ways to save her. It continued till morning and I was now standing by the door.

“I couldn’t come up with anything…”

And so, I spent my whole night just arguing to myself. After I had breakfast, I went straight to the Baron’s Mansion. As usual, the guards don’t really guard. They were just chatting among each other. So, it was easy for me to slip in.

“Okay. It’s already around the time when Lady Elara is done with her morning tea.”

Saying so, I went inside the mansion. Looking around carefully, I was taking my steps and looking for her in every room. I checked through the hall, garden, living room but she was nowhere there to be seen. As I was looking through, some maids were talking among each other and were coming towards my direction.

“Shoot!”

I quickly hide inside the kitchen. I was careful enough to check first if someone was inside it.

“Good thing no one’s here at the moment.”

I whispered to myself. Soon, I heard the maids’ footsteps going through the way.

“You saw how she cried right?”

“Yeah, I felt so sorry for her… I wish I could help her somehow…”

“I wish for that too, but Lady Elara was still there. If we did help her, who knows we might be the next target of her.”

Hearing so looked like Lady Elara punished someone yet again. She was famous for her behavior like this. If I heard correct, she used to be a very beautiful lady back in the capital city. But ever since she got rejected by the current King, who was the Crown Prince back then and had to marry off to the Baron, she became like this.

“I feel happy for the King and the whole Kingdom that he didn’t marry such a woman.”

I whispered to myself and stood back up.

“Alright. As soon as they leave, I will get out of here and look the other rooms.”

I looked through the door, slightly opened and saw the two maids leaving and was about come out the kitchen when,

“She’s currently washing the clothes, right?”

“Yeah. That too all by herself.”

“I think we should get her some food. We can’t really help her with work so let’s just give her something to eat.”

“Yeah, let’s do that. She went through a lot. First the garden incident and now this.”

“Yeah. Her face was so swollen from the impact, it took the whole day for it to get better.”

As I heard so, I recalled two days back. I remembered how her face was also swollen and the place was at garden as well.

“Is it possible…”

It was just a hunch but I decided to follow the two maids. Both the maids went towards the house for the servants. They went inside and came back with some food with them. Then, they went behind the house. I followed them as well. I quickly hide in the bush and looked carefully towards where the maids went.

“Ahh, they are in the way… I can’t see who it is.”

Even when I tried hard to see, they maids stand in between and I wasn’t able to get a view of the person. After a few minutes went by, the maids stood and started walking back after giving their food. I hide quickly since they were coming my way.

“Okay, they are gone. Now for who it is-”

I was cut off. I was able to see the person. It was as I thought.

“That’s her…”

It was the girl from back then. I was happy to see her once again but the happiness soon changed to sadness. She was crying, not now but before. Her eyes were swollen from crying for a long time. Her whole body was trembling as well. As if she was beaten very bad.

Even after such view, I could see that she was still washing the clothes.

“Where are the other maids?”

I asked looking around but then I recalled the two maids from back then,

“She’s currently washing the clothes, right?”

“Yeah. That too all by herself.”

After recalling so I went silent.

“Right…”

I just watched her as she was doing her work for a while. After sometime, she stood from her place.

“I will just drink some water and continue after that.”

She said so, and started to come my way. I quickly hide in the bushes again and waited for her to go by.

“Okay, she’s gone.”

I looked towards the pile of clothes Infront.

“Let’s be quick.”

After a few minutes went by, she came back looking sad and tired. She gave a long sigh but soon gasped,

“What…?”

What she saw Infront was that the whole pile of clothes was washed and hanged properly.

“Who did all this? I don’t think I-”

She paused as she saw few breads were in a basked by the place where she was just washing the clothes. She went up and looked through it and was confused. She started looking around her.

“This should do it.”

With a smile on my face, sitting on the roof of the servant’s house, I said so. After that, the rest of the day went peacefully. I came back the next day to see how she was doing. This time again, I bought her some food. It was some bread but with some candy as well.

She was confused about all the stuffs but she was smiling the whole time when she ate what I bought. Looking at her like that made me smile as well.

Four to five days went by like that. During that time, few maids by Lady Elara’s side tried to misbehave with her, some made her do all their work. But guess they were under the God of misfortune.

One time,

“You should know your place!”

The maid marches towards her as she was about to hit her.

“I am sorry! Please forgive me!”

She said so as she lowered her head, while her whole body was shaking. As the other maid came closer and raised her hand towards her, I pointed my finger towards her right leg and focused a little amount,

“Point of singularity.”

The maid came forward but unable to move her right leg, fell straight down, hitting her face on the ground. Everyone laughed at her, seeing her broken bleeding nose.

The other time,

“Can’t you see where you are going!!??”

Some random woman, maybe Lady Elara’s friend came one day and she bumped into her when she was taking a stroll outside.

“I am so sorry! Please forgive me!!”

“Because of you, now my dress is strained! Do you know how much does it costs!!”

After that she continued to scold her just because her dress was touched by her.

“She doesn’t want to wear that dress anymore, huh…”

I thought to myself. Thinking about that I had an evil grin on my face.

“Alright then.”

I pointed my palm towards that woman, focusing on the dress only,

“Let me give you a hand. Pulse of singularity.”

The lady was still bragging,

“You stupid peas-”

“AAAAAHHHHHHH!!”

The mansion got on an uproar that day. It was seriously hilarious. It was again going peaceful, but I didn’t think this would happen.

“Looks like she likes flowers a lot.”

I was as usual following her, she was looking at the flowers in the flower shop very happily when I saw few unknown men were starting to gather around her. I just thought maybe it was just coincidence but soon I was resulted wrong. They pulled her into an alley and started questioning her.

“Where is that guy?”

“What…?”

I got a hunch. Maybe they are with the bandits that attacked her that night, and the guy they are talking about…

“The one who killed my minions!! Tell me where he is!!”

“I don’t know…. who he was….”

“Say it or els-”

All the bandits were fallen to ground, being crushed. Yet again.

“That would be me.”

I came forward from the shadows and knocked them out. I sighed and looked at her who was staring at me. I turned around and started walking when she called out,

“Wait!!”

I didn’t turn around or stop but the next thing she did was pull on my cloak.

“Huh?? Hey! Stop pulling on my cloak!”

I said so but she won’t let me go. I tried to pull back but to my surprise, her grip was strong. After few minutes of the pulling, I gave up and sat down on the ground. She too, was taking her time to breath.

“I know you are scared of me! So, why didn’t you just-”

Before I could even finish, I was cut off by her words. All this time I thought she would be scared of me, curse me, but to my surprise she said,

“Thank you…”

Her head bowed to me, cheeks little red. I didn’t know how to react. There were many things going on in my mind. All I could do was stare at her.
