Chapter 7

The well-tended garden surrounding the house was a sight to behold. The grass was trimmed neatly, and flower patches were arranged in an aesthetically pleasing manner. Towering trees were planted strategically, adding a touch of natural beauty to the already stunning garden.

Standing outside, Chalice was admiring the beauty of the house. She couldn’t help but marvel at the intricate details and design. However, she couldn’t recall ever imagining such a place. Her mind was vivid and detailed, but she knew this house wasn’t something she had dreamt of.

As she pondered about the origin of the house, Chalice felt a strange sensation of familiarity wash over her. It was as if she had been here before, or at least seen this house in her mind’s eye.

Curiosity got the best of her and she explored the inside of the house further. As she walked through the cozy living room and the snug dining area, she couldn’t shake the feeling that she had been here before. The furniture and decor were charming, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

Then she noticed a book sitting on a table near the stairs. The leather-bound cover looked old and worn, and the title read “The Story of This House.” Without hesitation, Chalice opened the book and started reading.

The pages were filled with stories and memories of different families who had lived in the house throughout the years. As she read on, Chalice’s heart skipped a beat when she realized that one family was her own. Her great-grandparents had lived in this very house before she was even born.

Overwhelmed with emotion, Chalice sat down on the couch and took in everything she had learned. This house held a special place in her family’s history.

She couldn’t believe the level of detail and complexity of this world she had created. From conscious ideas like creatures and landscapes to subconscious details like this house, everything seemed to fit together seamlessly. She wondered if perhaps there was some part of her subconscious that was influencing her creativity and bringing these details to life. But she pushed those thoughts aside for now and explored more of this world that she had created.

As she walked down the path, she was startled by an unexpected greeting: “Hello.”

Chalice turned around to see a man standing behind her. His straight, brown hair hung over a furrowed but friendly face, and he had wide, gracious blue eyes.

A goatee adorns his handsome face, beautifully complementing his brown hair and chiseled cheekbones, leaving a lasting impression of his daring appearance.

His smooth skin beautifully complements his well-defined cheekbones, leaving a captivating impression on her mind.

Taken aback by the unexpected presence of someone, all she could manage was a simple “hi”.

The man smiled at her warmly. “Hello there. I’m sorry if I startled you. My name is Jack. I live in the house just over there.” He gestured towards the blue-stoned house behind him. As the man smiled, “It’s rarely I see someone wandering around these parts. Are you lost?”

Chalice felt a sense of relief wash over her as she realized she was not alone in this world. “Oh, hi Jack. I’m Chalice. I’m just exploring this place.” She was just exploring the forest and stumbled upon the house. The man introduced himself as Jack and said that he lived in the house.

Jack smiled warmly at Chalice, pleased to have met someone new in this world. “It’s great to meet you, Chalice. Welcome to my home. Would you like to come in for some tea or something to eat?”

Chalice hesitated for a moment, but the warmth in Jack’s eyes and the kindness in his voice put her at ease.

Chalice felt a surge of gratitude and curiosity. She had been wandering for hours and was getting quite hungry. “Thank you, that would be lovely,” she said with a smile.

Jack led Chalice into his cozy home and offered her a seat in the living room. As he prepared some tea and snacks, Chalice looked around the room, admiring the charming decor and personal touches.

As Jack prepared the tea, Chalice looked around the room. The house was just as cozy on the inside as it was on the outside. A mix of modern and vintage furniture was present in the room, which had been painted a soft cream color. The kitchen had a rustic charm to it, with wooden cabinets and a porcelain sink.

As they sipped their tea and chatted, Chalice couldn’t help but feel grateful to have met Jack. He seemed like a kind and genuine person, and she was excited to get to know him better and learn more about this world they found themselves in.

“So, what brings you to this part of the world?” Jack asked as he poured the tea.

Chalice paused for a moment, trying to find the right words. “I don’t know,” she said finally. “I just woke up here, in this world.”

Jack raised his eyebrows in surprise. “Well, that’s certainly something. I’ve never heard of anyone just waking up in this world before.”
