Chapter 13

After a while, the crowd dispersed and Jack approached Captain Ady to introduce himself and Chalice. The Captain welcomed them warmly and even offered them a tour of the town. Jack and Chalice eagerly accepted, excited to learn more about the unique culture of Lathmel.

As they walked through the town, Captain Ady showed them the various shops and businesses that supported the economy of Lathmel. They visited the blacksmith, where they saw some of the deadliest weapons in the land being forged. They also visited the archery range, where they witnessed the incredible accuracy of the town’s deadly archers.

Eventually, the tour led them to a small alchemy shop at the edge of town. The owner, an old man with a long beard and a twinkle in his eye, welcomed them inside and began to show them his collection of potions and elixirs.

It quickly became clear that the old alchemist was one of the most skilled in his field, and Captain Ady saw an opportunity to strengthen his town’s alchemy skills. He offered the old man a position as the official alchemist of Lathmel, promising him a comfortable life for his expertise.

The old man was hesitant at first, but after some convincing from Jack and Chalice, he eventually agreed. It was clear that Lathmel was a town that knew how to get what it wanted, and Jack and Chalice couldn’t wait to see what other surprises it had in store for them.

The old man introduced himself as Ohone, claiming to be a renowned wizard who offered to create a potion of protection for Jack and Chalice. Unbeknownst to them, the potion being brewed was a love potion that would spark desires and emotions between them.

Wizard Ohone gathered the ingredients to brew a desired potion, which included Sapphire nutmeg, Arctic Fennel, Blood Chicory, Blue Avens, and Ash Nigella.

Ohone guided Jack through brewing the desired potion with mystical instructions. First, he instructed Jack to break the Sapphire Nutmeg with a suitable tool until his arms became tired, cautioning him to seek medical help if he started to bleed. Then, he instructed Jack to sprinkle liquid ice on the nutmeg to turn it into messy water and add the Arctic Fennel, starting with a tiny amount and gradually adding the rest.

Next, they filled a pan with clean river water and added the mixture, bringing it to a boil before freezing it and then bringing it back to a simmer. After an hour, they added the Blood Chicory and Blue Avens, gently dropping them in to avoid splashing.

Finally, they gently warmed up the mixture once more, added the Ash Nigella, and allowed everything to cool down and rest for an hour.

After the potion cooled down, Ohone poured it into beautifully colored glasses and handed one to Jack and Chalice each.

As they drank the potion, Chalice felt a warm sensation spreading throughout her body. She felt a sudden rush of energy, and her heart began to race. She turned to Ohone and asked, “What did you put in this potion?”

Ohone chuckled and said, “Just a little something to make your desires more intense.”

Suddenly, Chalice began to feel an overwhelming desire for Jack. She looked at him, and her heart raced even faster. She couldn’t resist the urge to reach out and touch him.

Jack noticed the change in her behavior and asked, “Are you alright?”

Chalice couldn’t respond. She just leaned in and kissed him passionately.

Ohone watched the two of them with amusement. He knew the desired potion would work its magic, but he didn’t expect it to be so effective.

As Chalice and Jack continued to embrace, Ohone quietly slipped away, pleased with the success of his potion.

The desire potion had a powerful effect on both Jack and Chalice, causing them to give in to their urges. Chalice was surprised by the intensity of her desire for Jack, which she had not realized before. They both felt a sense of euphoria as they spent the night together.

The following morning, Wizard Ohone entered the room where Jack and Chalice slept and roused them from their slumber.

“Oh, good morning, my friends,” Ohone said with a cheerful voice. “I trust you both slept well?”

Jack and Chalice looked at each other, both feeling a sense of unease from the events of the previous night. They silently nodded in response to Ohone’s question.

“I see you have finished the potion,” Ohone said, noticing the empty glasses on the nightstand. “Did it work as expected?”

Jack and Chalice hesitated for a moment before answering. “Yes, it did,” Jack finally said, feeling a sense of shame for what they had done.

Ohone looked at them, a slight grin on his face. “Excellent. I am glad to hear that my potion worked.”

“But why did you make us drink it?” Chalice asked, her voice filled with both curiosity and anger.

“Oh, my dear, I did not intend to cause harm or distress. I merely wished to grant your deepest desires,” Ohone replied, his tone soothing.
