As soon as Jake stepped out of the bathroom the gel that was caked onto him faded away. The sweat and grime from work and all the exercise he was getting in the bathroom instance should have still been there, but the cleaning properties of the gel had burned the filth away.
After a short rest, he went about his grandmother’s junk hoard, collecting replacement cans of bug spray and a back-up hunting knife before searching for something that was a little more off.
It took a quarter of an hour for him to find it. From one of the many crates strewn around the house, he pulled out a hazmat suit and put it on. It was the perfect thing to keep him from getting drenched in anymore funeral gel.
What did they need hazmat suits for that his grandmother thought it’d be a good idea to buy a couple? He didn’t know and his grandma sure didn’t know either. She just knew that they’d been on sale as part of a 2-for-1 deal.
After loading the back-up knife and bug spray into his Inventory, the last thing he needed to do was check his mana.
Mana: 37 / 100
He’d only used half of it since getting out of the cabinet room under the sink, so he was thinking that what he had should be enough.
With his Inventory freshly loaded and a hazmat suit protecting him, Jake made his way back into the bathroom instance. It was time for him to get that seven hundred the slime king owed him for breaking and entering.
His footsteps echoed through the hall as he passed the door to the sink’s stairwell and approached the final door at the end. When he reached the door, he tried opening it slowly to peek in, but the door barely budged. He managed to force it open a couple inches, but stopped when gel started seeping through the cracks.
Looks like it's Kool-Aid Man time, Jake thought, taking a few steps back. He rammed the door three times making progress with each go and taking a few steps further back with each try.
As he charged down the hall for the fourth go at it, he heard the loud echo of something on the other side of the door that sounded like a whoopie cushion with the volume and force of a lion’s roar. The door flung open as Jake slammed into it and he went tripping and sliding forward as something heavy landed behind him in the doorway.
Jake looked around the room. As expected, the toilet was massive with twenty-five feet between its rim and the tiles on the floor below. The top of the water tank had to be almost fifty feet up. To the toilet’s side there was a massive plunger and toilet brush that were only fit for a giant to use and a trash can bigger than some one room apartments.
Scattered between him and the massive toilet set on the other side of the room were a dozen gel slimes he barely had enough cans to handle one at a time. He turned back to check on the enemy that landed behind him and instead saw a thick layer of gel blocking off the only exit.
Guess there's no retreating from a boss battle, Jake thought as he summoned a couple fresh cans of his poison spray. Considering that things lingered after he left the instance, he'd probably have to do something crazy to get back in through that layer of gel blocking the door if he left.
"Am I already in combat?" he asked his wrist brain.
Heads Up!
Yes.
If this was already considered combat, then he’d be wasting his time trying to take his shades at any point during this. The only two options for getting out were hitting zero hit points or completing his quest.
Jake took note of the multiple toilet paper ladders leading up the side of the toilet as the sound of slime slapping tile began echo throughout the room. The twelve slimes at ground level started hopping towards Jake out of sync from one another. He needed to get moving.
Going quick enough to keep pace with the slimes, but slow enough not to wear himself out, he moved towards the corner to the right of the entrance, the corner that was further from the toilet.
He heard a sound like someone was laying a fat one in the toilet. It was the sound he’d heard when he was about to smash through the toilet room’s door. He caught sight of a huge load of goo taking a flight out of the toilet straight towards his location.
No, no, no. Jake wagged his finger within his mind.
He stepped out of the way of the touchdown point and a few more feet to get out of what would be the worst of the splatter zone, then placed his eye back on the slimes on the ground. Simple minded things that they were, the slimes followed him in the straightest lines possible and made no attempt to properly surround him.
All he needed to do once he reached the corner was wait for them to get close enough. At that point, he sprinted forward, cutting through their line up and barely giving them a chance to prepare to lunge at him.

After that, he headed for the toilet ladder on the other side. He’d have plenty of time to climb up without having to worry about them now.
Feeling a bit too smug, Jake was caught off guard by a spider who’d been hiding behind the toilet as he rounded the toilet’s bowl. "Woah!" he shouted as it jumped out at him.
The clang of cans against tile was more than audible as Jake dropped the ones in his hands and dived out of the way of the lunging spider. Not that that did him any good. The spider was already on him by the time he turned over onto his back.
Seeing the enlarged night terror up close trying to tear his eyes out again in good lighting made him really appreciate how dark the cabinet room under the sink was. He pushed out against its chest to keep it off his face, but he knew he wouldn't be able to hold it back for long with how crazily it was thrashing its legs about.
He pulled out a new can of the kill on contact bug spray from his Inventory and started spraying. A poison stream shot out from the spray can and violently collided with the spider below its head.
It was super effective, in mere moments the spider was paralyzed. Unfortunately for Jake, said paralysis made the spider suffer a violent seizure right over him.
The arm he was holding it up with buckled and it fell on top of him squirming. Jake ported the can away and tried grabbing a couple of its legs to throw it off of him.
I don't have time for this, he thought, listening to the plopping sounds of the slimes he’d left behind growing closer. Maybe he could toss it into one of the slimes when it got close enough.
His eyes went wide. Before Jake could even try something like that he heard the Slime King getting ready to fire off another gel eruption. Crap! With the spider on top of him, he could barely move from where he was laying.
Jake let go of one of the spider's legs and tried holding it back with a foot instead. "Get off me!" he shouted in panic as the slime king’s wrath closed in. He pushed the spider back with a kick and rolled to the side.
With force far beyond its substance, the slime king’s attack slammed straight into the spider with a thud and a monstrous splatter.
You threw a Really Big Spider in the way of a Slime King’s Wrath!

Crimson light streaked through Jake’s vision.
HEAVY DAMAGE!
Warning!
HEALTH NEAR CRITICAL
One of his arms had been caught in the splatter zone. Just that alone was enough for him to take heavy damage.
Jake spared a glance to the spider. Frozen in slime, its corpse looked like one of those bugs trapped in an amber fossil. Full health or low, there was no doubt in his mind that a direct hit from that would be a one-hit KO for him.
The slimes drew closer as he struggled to pull his arm free from the slime king’s gel. It looked like this was as far as his hazmat was going. The slimes were near now and he didn’t want to still be stuck when the slime king launched its next attack.
In a hurry, he unzipped it and crawled out, thankful that the slime from the king's attack had hardened quickly, giving him something to push against.
As Jake stood back up, the nearest slime bubbled at him aggressively, attempting what he assumed to be a growl. He gave it the chance to lunge at him, dodging out of the way before sprinting for the toilet ladder.
Or at least he was going to sprint for the toilet ladder before a slime slammed down from the toilet’s rim right in front of him.
Oh great, Jake thought, porting a can of bug spray into his hand. Straight out the toilet now too, huh? He was starting to think five hundred dollars may have been a bit cheap for a one man raid.
Just as he was losing hope, something that looked like an explosion went off in the slime and the whole thing just popped.
You've killed a Gel Slime with a stray can of bug spray!

It had dropped straight onto one of the cans he’d dropped when the spider came at him. He sent the one in his hand back into his Inventory and got straight to climbing up one of the toilet ladders.
Grabbing each step tight enough to choke a man, he ascended the unruly construct. Woven from the strongest brand of toilet paper, the ladder shook back-and-forth like crazy, but didn’t tear or break. He was also thankful that it was soft on his hands much unlike that sandpaper one-ply they handed out at his old college.
Jake heard a sound like an old man gasping for air as he climbed. He lifted his legs in a hurry. A second later, a slime came crashing into the ladder below him. It slammed into the side of the toilet bringing the ladder along with it in its sticky mass.
With part of the ladder now stuck to the side of the toilet, it became more stable and the climb up became easier for Jake. There was the sound of another old man’s desperate breath from on top of the toilet seat. Another slime tried jumping down at him, but Jake just hung from the ladder's side and let it fall past.
When he reached the top of the ladder and the edge of the toilet’s seat, Jake was met by a giant slime, bigger than any of the others he'd seen so far. It was just sitting there on the rim, blocking his way.
The fact that it hadn't already tried to jump down on his head like the other one and just blocked his way was the most intelligent action that he'd seen one of these normal gel slimes take so far. Basic thought from a blob wasn't going to be enough to stop him now, though.
Jake pulled out a can of bug spray from his Inventory and started spraying. As the spray dug further into the giant slime’s mass, he shoved his arm in behind it. There was no way he was going to be killing this thing just spraying the surface, he'd have to reach the core.
With resolve in his heart, Jake took a deep breath and let the slime pull him in. The world around him became deafened as it sucked in his head. Every inch he drew closer to the core, the slime swallowed him up. Up to his chin, up to his shoulders, then up to his belt.
The air shot out of his lungs as the slime pushed down around him, burning the filth from his clothes and skin. All Jake could manage was to not breathe in. His head became faint, his vision began to dim, and then...
Pop!
You have plunged into a Huge Gel Slime and drilled down to its core!
